Tuesday June 30th, Day 18 of Election Fallout and Uprising in Iran

Many are wondering what happens now in Iran, after 18 days of The People's struggle to demand a Legal Election and that their Votes be counted. At first there was outcry against the results, millions took to the Streets. Then there was the demand for a Recount. Then there was a demand for an Annulment. But yesterday the Guardian Council handed down their decision, that the Election had been "fair", and that 10% of the Votes had been re-examined.And the State TV continues to say that the Vote was fair, and that Ahmadinejead won even more votes. Please do look at the photo from the State TV story, please note that the Ballots are not even FOLDED. ( pointed out by an Iranian).It was a rigged Election, and now has been falsely legitimized.

The Guardian is still trying to put a Face on the Detained or Dead. Please do read this post. Please remember many of these that are Detained, are Imprisoned, for no reason, other than they were on the street.And others were protested the Legitimacy of their Election . Others were journalists that were covering the Election.Others were wounded that were taken from the Hospitals. People are trying to investigate if there is any way to send in International Red Cross and check on the safety of the prisoners at Evin Prison.Evin Prison is by some accounts "full", and supposedly people are being kept at other Facilities now, the veracity of that issue needs to checked, but it remains concerning. At this point remember people were also arrested for having cellphones and cameras....and the Exact Number of how many detained is Questionable ? Estimates are that 2000 have been imprisoned in recent weeks.

And what is their fate ? and will the Government really plan to execute all of them ? or some of them ? and the Journalists ? and the Students ?

This video was found via Twitter last night ,( it was filmed in the past 5 days? it is disturbing, but there is no actual blood in this video, but it needs to be seen, and has been forwarded, it clearly shows what a Street Clash looks like.) it is footage shot bravely by a woman , appears to be filmed with a camera, as she wears dark robes fully cloaked, she holds the camera up to film part of this, it appears it is a street scene, there is a crush by paramilitary units, but from somewhere ? above ? gunfire admits, there is also Basiji , in a matter of seconds, there is crushing chaos. Even though the paramilitary units with various uniforms have full armour and Shields they too are swept up dodging bullets,they also do not appear to understand the language. Note the casings on the ground and hitting the sidewalk.It is unclear if this was a protest, or just people going about their daily life.The video ends in a hurry, with gunfire still echoing....It is unknown what happened to the camera woman....

Jailed Iranian reformists have been tortured in an attempt to force them into TV "confessions" of a foreign-led plot against the Islamic regime, it was alleged today, as the country's guardian council buried hopes for any significant revision of the disputed presidential election.According to Iranian opposition websites, the "confessions" are aimed at implicating Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi, the defeated reformist candidates, in an alleged conspiracy.Mostafa Tajzadeh, Abdollah Ramezanzadeh and Mohsen Aminzadeh, all Mousavi supporters, are reported to have undergone "intensive interrogation" sessions in Tehran's Evin prison since Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's disputed re-election.

They are among several hundred activists, academics, journalists and students detained in a crackdown coinciding with the brutal suppression of street protests.Prisoners reportedly heard screams from Tajzadeh and Ramezanzadeh in Evin's section 209, which is reserved for political prisoners and is run by the hard line intelligence ministry. Aminzadeh, a former deputy foreign minister, was heard shouting: "I am not going to give interviews."

Amnesty International said the reports came from "very credible sources".

The guardian Council has declared there were no major violations in the vote, which it described as the "healthiest" since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. It had already rejected a call by Mousavi, for the election to be annulled because of suspected vote rigging.a senior cleric, Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami, told worshippers at Tehran University: "I want the judiciary to ... punish leading rioters firmly and without showing any mercy to teach everyone a lesson." Ominously, he used the term "mohareb" – "one who wages war against God" – a crime punishable by death.

Khatami's sermon, broadcast live on state TV, included accusations that the unrest was supported by Israel and the US, and that foreign journalists had reported falsely. He claimed Neda Agha Soltan, who became a symbol of the opposition when her death was caught on video, was a victim of protesters, not the security forces. "Government forces do not shoot at a lady standing in a side street," he said."

Please note on the video, they are wearing Black, men and women, and I did not see any cellphones filming. They are chanting: " Today people were chanting "Where are you Beheshti? Mousavi's left all alone." & "Ya-Hossein Mir Hossein". They were chanting to the Deceased Martyr calling his name to help and protect Mousavi, and Mousavi was NOT present at this event. ( Leading to many questions as to his whereabouts , safety etc). But What they are chanting proves that this tape is authentic.Also The tape says location is Shariati Street ( tweet update below - says that is where riot vans are headed).

Enigma Comment:: This photo is Evin Prison where hundreds are being Held without charges, many arrested on the streets, many from their homes and now it has been confirmed that some have been removed from the hospitals. Many are students, activists, educators, and Journalists, and Wounded people. The Numbers range from 475 to Hundreds ( One EU Human Rights org estimated over 2000). Many are regular hardworking people that did nothing other than question WHAT happened to their Vote ? They are Now Imprisoned.

CNN Blog confirms tonight what many of us have been reading on Twitter for days, and dreading confirmation, but it is true that the Government Police have been hauling people away from the Hospitals to Prison.
Another question that has not been explored or raised, this also means that the Medical Staff are working in a very dangerous situation....It is also questionable whether these people that are hauled away, if there is any way to track WHO has been arrested and where they are , and whether they will be given any medical care. I hope SOMEONE with UN, Amnesty International or The International Red Cross is demanding to see the Arrested in the Evin Prison .

This list does not have the MISSING. Sadly CNN won't air this important issue, they would rather celebrity-monger giving us 24 hour coverage that Micheal Jackson is still dead, yet it is paraded nonstop across all stations. To Say it is disturbing is the least of it, on another level as a viewer it raises questions about MSM enabling the Dictatorship there.

More Examination on the Election Fraud
The Guardian is continuing their investigation into the Election Issues, and is dissecting the results that the Government has made public. It raises some real questions , especially if one compares these current results with the last election. This story will not go away because the severe Crackdown now just raises more questions about how legitimate was their election, because if it was a credible win, then scrutiny should have been allowed and a Recount should not have been an issue. Do look at this graph even if you look at the graph in the Persian paper, you can see the numbers are trending in an odd way. Iranian Uprising Day 13 : The Brutal Government Crackdown Continues ....but the Iranian People's Courage Persists....

Women are a huge part of this story, In my lifetime I have never seen women on the street fighting side by side with their husbands and sons and brothers. They are a part of this struggle in a way that none of us would have foreseen a week ago. The images of them gathering rocks or protecting a wounded person or listening to their Voices on the videos is Historic.We always hear about the Fierce Lion Spirit within Iranians, but I think what we are really witnessing is the rise of the Lioness Spirit....it is courageous and Fearless. In this video of protests from yesterday you can clearly hear a woman's voice leading the Chant through the smoke of the tear gas.

USA Today explores the history changing role women are taking in this Uprising. Their courage has been breathtaking. And this article also explores the shift that their role has added to this Uprising. I many of the late night Smuggled Videos I watch , they are the ones filming with cellphones, and of the twitters I read I can tell which ones are women as they sit in the dark texting out the events of the day. For now it is illegal for them to carry those mobiles and to be seen filming, they are risking beatings and imprisonment or worse for carrying a phone.....but it does not stop them from reporting the Truth or from going to the streets.

As this Iranian Government continues it's Media Black Out it is interesting to see how effective their brutal crackdown will be in suppressing the truth. Considering most information has now come down to cellphones and Twitter and some hidden computers and creative access to twitter. This article has more from some very different reporters and journalists and how they see it. In a way the fact that they have been so severely Silenced shows more about how important Freedom of Speech truly is, and now how dangerous it is in Iran. A week ago would anyone have perdicted a Country's Future was so connected to people being able to use cellphones and Twitter ? And that lives would depend on their ablility to do so ? Cellphone Video from Looking Down on Basharastan Sq yesterday 6.24.09, the bloodiest day yet. This linked video clearly shows how the Situation has degenerated into a situation where any single street can easily within minutes become a battlezone situation. The Video shows that the protests now have a flash mob feel, and then the Basjii desend like locusts swarming and attacking at random. The Video is grainey, blurry, but still the horror these people are experiencing as they are terrorized by their own Government is disturbing.

One of the main twitters last night was people trying to get information to the Iranians on how to protect themselves when attacked by the Basji, it was chilling realizing that so many were trying to reach out to them and offer them help with this simple link an anti riot website. And so this being my first week to Twitter, I have spent the past few nights twittering Riot Protection Advice, tears gas care, and how to put pressure on a gunshot wound,...Again the enormity of people worldwide sitting up late into the night trying to send them this help is surreal. But after watching the video above, how could I as a nurse not try to reach out and help. But what moves me is that so many others around the world are doing the same thing....

Where as Tehran Broadcast is openly reporting that they have been arrested and are being held by the government.

First a Quick Message. Have been dealing with two issues I need to share. For now while I am doing Uprising Coverage, I am asking that all Comments be emailed to me, due to security issues. It is a temporary measure.

I am still reporting on the Human Rights Aspect of this Situation. I try to provide updates while also providing resources that make the situation more clear. First I need to say that there are many that are Liveblogging and following this situation closely at this point. Huffington Post is still liveblogging it, and so is the NYT.....so do check with them during the day. I am continuing to Blog the Human Condition not the politics of this situation. People there are still going to great parallel,risking their lives to get video and photos and text messages out, and I feel compelled to make sure they are Heard and their Truth Known, this is their story and it must be shared.....(I hope that my readers understand Why I am covering this situation, I spend part of the day digging at Twitter and forwarding the videos and photos and texts, and then I update the blog). President Obama is correct at this point the world is Bearing Witness...

Sadly as the Crackdown toughens there it has been harder and harder to get more information. Cellphone and Internet is sporadic and people have to keep moving about to get messages out, most of the video that is coming is cellphone video and Twitter ( text) messages are telling the Increased Lockdown they are experiencing. During the day, more areas are seeing troops on the ground in different areas of Tehran and neighborhoods. And a Military Basijji HQ has been set up at the Sports Stadium. The people there are resisting and are beyond brave in many of the videos I link to....They are seen yelling when the Bassji swarm or attack people on the street, they chant and yell at their motorcycle units that swarm through the city. And yesterday there was footage of more Enforcement Presence, the military ? or police on the streets.( posted yesterday).

Human Rights Watch of list of people detained, or killed. ( updated, and as current as they can be. I am not sure that this list has all the Journalists, Bloggers, that the Reporters without Borders had listed. And I also wonder if Students are on this list. I am also very concerned that the Sports Stadium in the video is not just being used as a Basiji Headquarters for the Military action against the people, but that perhaps arrested students and protesters are being held there. It is something someone should try to check with Google earth satellite imagery. The Salon post below details an account by a 17 year old who says he was moved from place to place, and when I read that account I could help but think of the Black Vans in the Sports stadium Videos. It is also to be noted that there are 475 arrested according to multiple sources, all the way from June 13th, and we don't know where all of them are being held. Some are and were held at Evin Prison.

Really Horrendous Home Invasion Video, captured on Cellphone as a Family watches and films.....

Warning very disturbing video, but a family filmed this, peaking through their porch railing, as the Basiji arrive , a full pack of them, 10-20, and destroy property,swarming their courtyard and then they start invading homes in a small compound of apartments....the woman filming is terrified....as the tape rolls she begins to cry and shreak in despair as she realizes they are going into the home. It is clear she is very scared for her neighbors and family members....

NYT has also put together a page combined with the LEDE team that is following closely.Also Google has Citizen Tube where they are updating the Video collection Daily.And CNN has really started covering much better ( since Sunday when Don Lemon literally manned the anchor chair for many many hours and took this story to a new level.) MSNBC other than Keith remains a horrible void on this issue. The Financial Papers also are covering the situation from many angles, which if there is a National Strike is an important piece of the situation, Reuters and WSJ are covering. Youtube and Twitter continue to be the main ways for the Iranians to get their story to the World. Andrew Sullivan of the Atlantic Monthly's The Dish is also doing an amazing job reporting by using Twitter as his source. There is finally a meshing of MSM and Blogs and Citizen reporting that we have never seen before in Journalism.

( Google in a matter of days has not only set up not only Farsi translation services, but also added google earth satellite imagery, and Citizen Tube for videos, and meanwhile Google News is tracking over 20,000 blogs,articles and news resources daily on the Iran Issue ALONE.The deserve much thanks for their creative dedication to assisting this journalistic process.)

If you read yesterday's Update you saw that there is a substantial list of Arrested Reporters and Bloggers. So coverage is still a fragile process that could not happen without the courage of the Iranians who now are being arrested and beaten daily for carrying cameras, yet they are still filming with their cellphones.

When you look at the photos and the video I am asking you to think about this, What would you do ? If your Election was stolen and Blatantly so....Millions of Votes ? And then when people protested Peacefully and asked for a Review or a Recount or a Review If was Denied and the Election was officially Stolen , What would you do ? And then let's take it further, the Government of power, stolen power set forth Crushing Forces upon the people, shooting people, beating people in the streets, and arresting people in the Night....What would you do ? Would you film your neighbors being beaten and arrested and shot ? Would you risk your life to get the film and photos out to the world ? Would you want the World to see The Truth ? And if Armed Forces invaded your street what would you do ? I look at this photo of this woman with her rocks...and the look in her eyes.

For in Iran, now the people that are protesting and resisting this Sham of a Process, they are now being labeled as "terrorists" by their own Government Even though Millions had taken to the streets peacefully. And now yes, they arm themselves with rocks against the Basiji Thugs on their motorbikes and the Paramilitary Force. But it is the Thugs coming through neighborhoods destroying cars and bashing property. In my lifetime it is the first time I have ever seen women on the streets with their husbands and sons and brothers in such a tumultuous dangerous bloody situation. ( The "recount "issue is still a process that is in turmoil, now there is an offer to Count "Some" boxes ? Even though the first examination revealed that there was over 100% turnout at 50 cities . So what does that mean now ? It means that Internally in Iran, all the processes that perhaps could have enabled a Recount, or even an Annulment with a new Election as Mousavi has requested is no longer a realistic option. But do remember that there is still much to happen and that is ongoing there is Unrest and Division in different factions of the government, and as I posted below the Clerics are not all siding with the Government....so the situation remains volatile and on many other levels unresolved.

It is in no way normal there for a Cleric to join a Protest and stand side by side with his people in the street yelling at the Government....especially after the Supreme Leader Spoke so sternly on Friday.

Now there comes forth a new story of how cruel and crushing this situation has become The Iranian Government is now charging a Bullet Fee of families that must be paid before they can claim the bodies of their loved ones. At first they denied Anyone had been shot, and now they are charging for the bullets.

( The girl in the other photo is very much alive. ) I did also post the interview with BBC with her fiance.There is a rumor on Twitter that her father has been "detained" or arrested, but I am still researching that part, for now it does look false. It is true that she was not allowed to have a traditional funeral or memorial and that there were problems finding a Cleric to bless her for burial. The other part of the story that needs correction is that the man that was with her was not her father but her music teacher, but he remains the one that tried to comfort her in her dying moments.

Neda 's story changed alot of How this Uprising was being covered , but also how the information in Iran got OUT to the rest of the World. It in a way became a pivotal moment in fighting Censorship in Iran and Anywhere now in this digital age. Read this NYT story for full look.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BNO NEWS) -- Two subway trains collided in Washington D.C. during rush hour on Monday, a spokesman for Metro D.C. told BNO News. At least two people were confirmed killed while dozens of other passengers were left injured.
"At 4.59 p.m. (local time) a Red Line train derailed [..] between the Takoma Park and Fort Totten stations and was involved in the collision with another train, according to preliminary early reports," a spokesman said. People are being urged to avoid the area.
The spokesman for Metro confirmed at least two people had died. Rescue workers at the scene reported up to 70 people injured while at least 40 people were left trapped inside the wreckage, but those numbers were not immediately confirmed by officials. The spokesman for Metro said there were "many" serious injuries.Dozens of emergency vehicles are at the scene and multiple mass casualty units are responding. Local media outlets said school buses were called in to help transport casualties.

Over the weekend, the situation which was already tense and volatile due to the Unanswered Election Fraud Questions
and Suspicions, erupted after the Supreme Leader gave his speech on Friday. His "prayers" unleashed a firestorm, he spoke at Tehran University where students were murdered and ambushed and also students were taken away who have not been seen since. ( Hundreds ? or unknown number to the Dept of the Interior Ministry at the beginning of last week). When Supreme Leader spoke at the prayers he did not mention the dead or missing students, his only mention was of the Spiritually Inadequate Youth. And as to the Election, he made no concessions that there were problems whatsoever, and so now Lies and Deception and Denial and Complete Invalidation of the Millions of People demanding Voting Justice were left with no other path than Revolt.

And because his "Prayers " were basically his way of raising an iron fish cloaked with words of the Holy, the Warning was issued before he brought out the full force of His Military, ParaMilitary Militia and Baseji Thugs ( In the photos you will and footage down below you will see them in plain clothes, camo with full riot gear protection or dressed in Darth Vadar Black with POLICE written on their vests. I find it odd that their vests are written in ENGLISH- POLICE ?). In the Photos you will see from the weekend, there were massive groups of people trying to reach the one planned rally of Saturday at 4PM, with a Complete Media BlackOut Ordered and with No Cellphones and No Internet, he unleashed his desperate Bloody Fury upon his own people. There the Baseji MotorBike Thugs shooting at people on the streets and there roof top shooters, and fully riot geared and armed "police" blocking off roads and alleys to the Designated Squares.There on those streets, unarmed people were beaten with batons, clubs and teargassed and shot at. There were deaths, the numbers range from 35 to over 100. The most known and seen a young woman named Neda Soltani, her story is in the post below. There were also hundreds of injuries.

Now the Iran State Run Media has called these incidents, a response to "terrorists" and "Hooligans", to "quell the violence". Yet that is not true, thousands went to the street to protest Election Fraud, and were beaten for it. In response to the beatings, yes, they did protect themselves by creating road havoc so the Baseji could not ride their motorbikes through and shoot at people. They did this by barricading with dumpsters, and yes, setting tires and dumpsters on fire. These fires also help quell the Tear gas that was supposedly sprayed at them and also dropped from helicopters. There were also the water cannons sprayed at them, but according to twitter that was not the worst of it.

And yes, they watched people get killed in front of them or wounded, and yet in all the videos you see people working together. You see in most of the leaked videos people leading people to shelter, or sheilding young girls, or helping each other up or running. And all the videos have women, girls bravely fighting alongside the men. Unarmed people fighting with fully armed Paramilitary with Rocks. You hear them chanting, banging pots and pans and bring rocks and you see them yelling and also filming . Please do see the post below with some of the photos. Over the weekend I posted all the videos that explain the story, many are too graphic to just post. Youtube is still pulling them off and on. Huffpost bravely ran most of the more violent telling videos. There is a rock scene below that very much shows people fighting to keep the Forces off their streets. At night the Forces and Baseji have been attacking people in their homes and destroying their property and cars. Basically these people, mostly edcuated middle class working people are being terrorized by their own government.

And yet they film and take photos mostly with phones at this point and somehow get the video out, mostly to Twitter. And over the weekend the CrackDown Forces did start arresting and beating those with phones and cameras. And yes, if you read below, they also have arrested more than 27 journalists that the Reporters without borders is tracking.

This weekend the Supreme Leaders unleashed his desperate fury with great determined violence, and yet the People resisted and defiantly took to the streets demanding Freedom and Change and an End to Oppression and Lies and Fraud. On this blog is only a snippet of their story and I can only hope it shows even a glimpse of their great courage.

Iranian Uprising Day Nine., Despite Government Brutality the Courage of the People Persists.....

They are still on the streets, using cars to barricade, and setting up road blocks so the Baseji can not run their motorbikes through, during the night on the Twitter they were discussing ways to make the Roads more difficult for the motorbikes, there was even advice how to "disrupt" a bike ( they were planning to visit the bikes when the Baseji eat or sleep ).There were also giving tips how to place glass or oil on the road ways so the Baseji bikes would wipe out. These are resilient brave people.

In this video you can hear what sounds like Pots and Pans, I did read ( also on the twitter) that they will start doing that as well, that Silence is Over. Another thread said that they will start chanting to the Police" Join Us". And yet during the night a Baseji HQ was apparently set on fire, it is hard to see in this but clearly they are not going to be put down by the Baseji Thugs.

On another note do see Google News, they have set up a whole page for News Sources and BLOGS on Iran ( amazing). And they also are offering Farsi translation too, they deserve major thanks for that. But I wrote a scathing post earlier today about the MSM coverage, and in light of some research I should maybe not be so angry, some of them are clearly working with limitations and problems. On another note google news this am had 27,000 article and links for Iran Election, that says to me that the Whole World is indeed watching.

By now many people have seen the Footage of the young woman shot dead in the Street. Her name was Neda, and according to WPI press office, her surname is Soltani, she was an employee of Rademan Airways. She was standing on the corner with her father watching the protests. Her father was next to her when she was shot,and in the 40 sec.video you can hear her father's voice talking to her, and a Farsi reader at Huffington Post translated it " Neda do not be afraid" and "Neda stay with me". This is the an account of a bystander that tried to help, who is a a Doctor, and this post has more details about her death. Warning; it also sadly does contain graphic photos. The video is still posted below, and will remain posted even though it is heartbreaking to know that she died such a way. Even sadder now that it is Fathers Day. Her Name in Farsi means " The Voice or Call ". Over at Huffpo this afternoon they are posting this video which clearly shows her at the corner moments before standing with her father...she is alive and young.... TIME Magazine is now covering her story as well.

11 PM I have spent much of the day and part of this evening trolling the Twitter Threads for information to forward on to Nico,....and I was just about to go to bed when I found this song that is being circulated for Neda, sadly she was buried in Southern Tehran today, and it was done quietly. This Song is a Goodbye for her, but it reminds us that all of those brave people are risking their lives each time they go outside now...The Videos below show men and women all ages Fighting Back, Resisting...Using Rocks and working together to take care of each other....sadly Neda is gone but she won't be forgotten.

For Neda and her Dad that was with her, This Song, is called "Oh, what a day to be alive" , the video montage is haunting and yes, shows what they all are facing right now....

The Rock Fight that will have you yelling at your computer, you will be so amazed by their courage...and yes, they push the Forces back with Rocks...

Okay, this is a Rock Fight., plain and simple. Down at the far end is the Protesters trying to stop the Forces from moving in on them, now note the Military Forces or Riot Police or whatever they are, you will see them move forward, but the Protesters are heaving rocks at them, now it is 2 Minutes and 39 Seconds WATCH ALL of it closely...VERY closely, because the Protesters...yes...Push them back...Remember this- they have no weapons just rocks...In other videos I have posted the girls and women of all ages are out there, they are in charge of the Rock Supplies and the Chanting...It is amazing, Such Raw Courage....and yes, you will find yourself Cheering when it is over- you won't be able to help your self. 2 Men Chased and arrested in an alley, haunting....and so worrisome.

These two men appear to have been chased into the alley and then they hid behind the car, and there is this weird interaction of the Forces- they don't' speak much to each other, and I wonder if there is a Language barrier, and then they drag these two poor souls out and they for some reason shove a shoe in the one guy's mouth. And then there are the two people filming - very brave, whispering, a girl and guy, and then there are noises close by, like apartments getting raided, so it is amazing that this video made it out.

I worry about these people...being chased and hunted down and arrested...for what, Because they Questioned the Election Results??? This is what a Dictatorship looks like...Tyranny.

It is now 8 AM in Iraq....their Day of Destiny was indeed a horrendous day...and sadly we don't know how much Blood was shed, but we know it was unjust and brutal....and heartbreaking...that there are families there that are in pain and worried. I do not understand what kind of Leader would do such a thing to his people.The Baseji are evil but I am still praying that the other forces and police side with the People....We don't know what will happen next...But the battle is not over..it has just begun.

I had to say something, we need the MSM to get on board and cover it like ANY crisis where people are being shot in the street and in their homes. WHY are they taking orders from a Dictator and the Supreme Leader, they are journalists they should report what is happening. Instead they have Ex Beauty Queens making irrelevant comments about the Videos that have been sent to them, and they did not even watch the videos. The one video that was sent to them that shows street acitivity and is 5 minutes long, if they actually watched the WHOLE video, they would realize that 2 minutes into it a man is shot, and there is much gunfire and then the people try to move him to safety. It is stunning, shocking and disturbing. The Street is where people were shot and pummeled attempting to get to the Rally today. Police showed up well armed and attacked citizens and shot at them, and fired tear gas and water cannons on them.

By Evening time, around 8 PM people were advising others on Twitter to seek care of injuries at Embassies ( Dutch, Aussie,Brit, and Slovenia, Most were taking people in, Canada is not.). The reason they were doing this is because the Police were showing up and taking people from the hospitals. Twitter reported that the Khomeni Hospital is right by one of the main street that has shooting on it and ongoing gunfire.

There was a video of a young girl that was also shot on the street, and yes, she dies in the video. It is clear she was on the street. There are videos of BBC Persia that clearly show shooters on roofs and also from windows. CNN could air these, they were sent to them, they chose not to. There are also videos that clearly show college students cornered and backed up to a fence and then rushed and beaten by the police. Another video shows girls being whipped and beaten and called Derogatory names.

CNN and MSNBC and MSM should be ashamed....Citizen Bloggers have covered this Crisis for days with Journalistic Integrity and did their best to make sure that the Iranian's videos and photos that they risked their lives sending were shared with the World.

I will be posting all the video and photos I found today in a post below later this evening in a couple of hours. I spent most of the day sending Huffington Post Nico Pitney twitter finds, and he has done an amazing job, a true journalist. We are grateful that The Guardian and Huffington Post stuck with the story when the Bloody Violence hit.

Azadi Street Violence, 5:29 Minutes, shows Shootings on this street, and people defending themselves by carrying rocks...and One Man Shot Dead

2 Minutes in the people are trying to get past one corner and many shots are being fired, ongoing, then there is a man shot, and you see people trying to help move him, and it is grim and bloody watching them trying to move him and look for cover while shots are still ringing out.

CNN only showed part of this video, implying that the protestors were breaking things with rocks, this is wrong, they did not show or watch the entire Video. The Entire video showed what really happened. And it is disturbing.

I went over to Nico Pitney's Liveblogging at Huffpost, and there was an amazing video was posted, I have reposted it below with the transcript. There is a transcript, of what the woman is saying as she listens out the window, as her neighbors again cry to God....For many nights now as phones and Internet has been removed and communication repressed, the Iranians have gone to their roof's and called to God. I am printing the transcript that someone painfully transcribed for him.( below the video). I am also posting video of them calling to God earlier in the week, there is a shift in the cries now,there is more pain, more desperation. I want to go up on my roof and cry with them at this point.....I don't know what we can do to help them....I know there are mothers like me, crying for their sons, wanting something more for their futures...as a mother I know that...and I look at the young faces in the photos and the photos of the old women in the photos I posted yesterday and I think they have waited so long...they have hoped and prayed...and they too marched for Mousavi ...for Change....They too have hungered for something else.

Early this Morning in Iran at Tehran University the Supreme Leader spoke at Morning Prayers, and basically continued to Bless the Election results and blamed the US and UK for the current opposition sentiment. From the Transcripts I have seen he did not mention the murder of the stundents by the Baseji at the Dorms, or mention the students being held at the Interior.Susposedly Ahmadinejead was somewhere in the crowds.This article is from the Independent, and I will post more as I find it. Nico Pitney posted this video and an explanation on Huffpost, explaining that the video was explained by an email what the chant Allahu Akbar means,....really means....

"I cannot in any way claim to know what people are thinking or meaning on the ground, but for centuries, 'Allahu Akbar' has been in the Muslim world a battlefield of meaning and ultimately of political legitimacy. They are five syllables pregnant in meaning, mutability and richness, not simply a ritualistic or fundamentalist dogmatic trope. Nor is 'Allahu Akbar' simply a prayer. In fact, despite all its negative, violent connotations in the West, 'Allahu Akbar' has been uttered by Muslims throughout history as a cry against oppression, against kings and monarchs, against tyrannical and despotic rule, reminding people that in the end, the disposer of affairs and ultimate holder of legitimacy is not any man, not any king or queen, not even any supreme leader, but ultimately a divine force out and above directing, caring and fighting for a more peaceful, rule-based, just and free world for people to live in. God is the one who is greatest, above each and every mortal human being whose station it is to pass away.

The fact that 'Allahu Akbar' is echoing through the Iranian night is not only an indication of the longing of people there to find a peaceful and just solution to this crisis. It also points to how deep the erosion of legitimacy is in whosoever acts against the will of the people, in whosoever claims to act on God's behalf to oppress his fellow human, including in this case some of the 'supreme' Islamic jurists themselves. This all goes to show that Islam, far from being merely an abode of repression and retrogression, has the capacity of being a fundamentally restorative and democratic force in human affairs. In the end, so it seems, at least in the Iranian context, 'Allahu Akbar', God is greatest, is a most profoundly democratic of political slogans. So deep is this call, that what is determined out of this liminal moment may very well set the terms for (or against) a lived, democratic Islamic reality for decades to come.

Protesters today on Krimkhan Bridge June 17. Thousands have quietly filled the streets, some dressed in Black and some carrying photos and flowers honoring those that have been killed by the paramilitary and police. The Video below is from the Bridge.

It's painful to watch what's happening.

I don't want anything to do with what has been said this far, as I neither have the strength nor the resilience to face all these unfathomable events.

I only want to speak about what I have witnessed. I am a medical student. There was chaos last night at the trauma section in one of our main hospitals. Although by decree, all riot-related injuries were supposed to be sent to military hospitals, all other hospitals were filled to the rim. Last night, nine people died at our hospital and another 28 had gunshot wounds. All hospital employees were crying till dawn. They (government) removed the dead bodies on back of trucks, before we were even able to get their names or other information. What can you even say to the people who don't even respect the dead. No one was allowed to speak to the wounded or get any information from them. This morning the faculty and the students protested by gathering at the lobby of the hospital where they were confronted by plain cloths anti-riot militia, who in turn closed off the hospital and imprisoned the staff. The extent of injuries are so grave, that despite being one of the most staffed emergency rooms, they've asked everyone to stay and help--I'm sure it will even be worst tonight.

What can anyone say in face of all these atrocities? What can you say to the family of the 13 year old boy who died from gunshots and whose dead body then disappeared?

This issue is not about cheating(election) anymore. This is not about stealing votes anymore. The issue is about a vast injustice inflected on the people. They've put a baton in the hand of every 13-14 year old to smash the faces of "the bunches who are less than dirt" (government is calling the people who are uprising dried-up torn and weeds)

I have been watching What is Happening in Iran...My heart is heavy for them, we here in the States do indeed understand about Illegal Manipulated Elections and Fraud...there is NO Way that there was Any Kind of Landslide in Iran....the Whole World is watching the Shenigans....I pray the Media keeps reporting, and Blogs, Huffpost is doing an amazing job....( by the way MSNBC has been a bit sluggish on reporting it..) I look at this photo and I kept thinking of the Beijing Protests back in 1989 and Tank Man. I do hope the Countries of the world, especially those that do Business and commerce with Iran will also step up and speak out about the Election Fraud that is being perpetrated. And yes, I know President Obama is in a Precarious position....but yes, the less pragmatic part of me wishes he would speak out....but I doubt he will, it is still too tenuous a situation, he is wise to hold his voice and counsel for now. And yet a part of me thinks his speech in Egypt did inspire many, especially women in Iran to get out and vote and fight back....and yet other Leaders, Merkel and Brown and the EU have been speaking out about their concerns about Election Integrity.Protests of support are being shown around the world from London to Europe.

If not...then things could get very very interesting...And the other concern is that the Paramilitary state para-military force known as Basiji has infiltrated in the rallies. For the most part the Twitter threads are reporting that ParaMilitary have been beating some protesters and that others are rushing to defend and provide AID.....Remember that the Protesters are Peaceful and angry about their votes... but they are peacefully protesting in the thousands....the photos on Twitter are astounding...the man in the photo was supposedly shot by a ParaMilitary...if that is true...there must be outrage...

( I am working on this because here in Ohio, 24 % of the children here are Hungry, and that does not count the kids that normally would get two meals a day at school, now that the school year is over they will be without those two meal a day. Also where I work it is not uncommon to see Elderly buying catfood and paying with change....I strongly believe that taking care of each other is the greatest form of patriotism...and yes, it is true that the Tea Baggers are planning Activities for the Fourth of July...so yes, this would be a more positive action for that day....kind of honoring that "Community Organizing" side of America, eh ???....namaste.)

Here's some more data for you.....119 Million don't have Adequate coverage or access ( meaning that not all of the needed care is covered). 52 Million have NO Healthcare is the correct number when you include 47 million from 2006 Election Data and ADD 6 Million who have lost employment since then ( and remember the COBRA system is just as broken). 56% of ALL Bankruptcies are due to Medical Bills and Expenses, and 73 % of those had Health Insurance......Healthcare should be a RIGHT, not a privelege for Some.....because if that is truly the case...it is sanctioned genocide...as more than 30,000 a year die without ANY healthcare.....

I live in the Foreclosure Capital....here in Cleveland the numbers are staggering...and in my hood you can walk by the empty abandoned houses and the local community leaders have been having meetings about Demolition....it is more than depressing.My hood in particular usually has alot of college and grad students, but the last six monthes many left....and fall will reveal how many can afford school in fall, or have moved home for school.

But the EPA's main emphasis is trying to get a handle on controlling storm-water runoff into the Sound, perhaps the single biggest problem.
The funding is included in a $32.3 billion bill, and subcommittee action is just the first step in a long process. Even so, Rep. Norm Dicks, D-Wash., the chairman of the subcommittee, said he expected the $50 million in Puget Sound spending to survive.

"We desperately need the money," said Dicks. "We have to do this if we want to restore Puget Sound."

Since 2006, Congress has created a special Puget Sound office within EPA and appropriated a total of $47 million in cleanup funding. Last year, Congress provided $20 million.The $50 million puts the Puget Sound cleanup on a par with the effort in Chesapeake Bay. The White House sought $475 million in the coming year for the effort to clean up the Great Lakes."
( Sadly while Christine Gregoire and Tom Eaton are in place handling the funds...it will be amazing if the money actually reaches the right Sites...)

Tragedy at the Holocaust Museum......And the Consequences of Hatemongering....

I am posting thoughts about the Shooting at the Holocaust Museum...and keeping an open thread here.....I was out with son - working on dental work..and came home and heard about it, and was struck that on so many levels that many of us have been worrying about this, because of the all the Right Wing Hatemongering....... so tragic....will post more about the guard when I learn more ( maybe a fund set up for his family etc..)...you can click the title to learn about the Killer and the events.....
(1) Killer had/has White Supremacy ties and yes indeed is a Holocaust Denier...and there are websites reporting he had spent time in Idaho,even though he lived in Easton ( a small town outside Annapolis).
(2) He apparently is not happy with the "Browning of America", and is another of those questioning "Obama's Birth", and yes, he has an angry website....
(3) I hope considering that he has a Previous record and such a website that he was being monitored by the FBI, and that Southern Poverty Law Center was monitoring ? ( Click the title to read about his previous record regarding his Federal Crime).
(4) I question how he got a gun ? and WHO drove him there ?
(5) Sadly tonight was supposed to be about the opening of a play about Anne Frank meeting Emmett Tillman that was about Hate, and finding the good in people...

So I got my porch all cleaned up finally.....again...nothing spent on furnishings ( yup it is true, all of the lawn furniture and even the flower pots were tossed to the curb by neighbors, and then I scooped up and fixed up).....except for a little on plants and a can of Emerald Green Paint.....So here is the deal....I will be on this porch everyday finishing my book, The Book...Silent Fallout....I have a July 4th Deadline...and hopefully it will be out in Fall....So here's the deal...I will be on this porch every hour that I have off...sitting with my laptop....finishing The Tale...and during this month I can not blog on Politics or Health as much as I would like....there may be some sporadic posts thought.....I can only go to work and come home to The Book...that is all I can handle....

Yes, I have some other issues going on...and yes, I am still planning to move...but for now I have to focus....have to....to get 6-6 and I to our Future....cuz it ain't here in Ctown.....

So everyday I will post a Song and a Quote....because you know I care about Blogland and am still here.....namaste....

Monday June 8th......I watched President Obama in Egypt and Europe this past week...and it occurred to me that all that work that all of us did...it had worldwide implications...it mattered...really mattered....Now we need to help him with Healthcare...there are more than 52 million of us that have NO care....we need to Change that...Lives depend on it...

But this video below made by a film student with music in 5 minutes explains the story beautifully the brave Students, and of the Massacre of Tinnamen Square and the story of the Tank Man. I was off work the week of these events....I was home sick from my Hospice Job and my ER job... and I watched all of this unfold live at the time....switching channels between CBC, BBC and CNN and ABC.....and weeping when it was so brutally ended...and for years I carried Tank Man's Courage in my heart....with a blown up Poster that traveled from Place to place with us....and then finally was given to my son for his room. All of us need to remember that Everyday Heros can inspire us to find our own courage and to be stronger.....do watch the first video, it is welldone.
