So here are some to share as you pass the gravy. ( If you follow me on Twitter you know I do this #WhyWeOccupy hashtag every couple of days to educate folks.) So here are some of the Facts.

and for the skeptics in my family...can you site sources for the stats? The numbers really are unbelievable, but I do believe them. We've been in trouble for quite some time.

The stats are all from the different source, the "Poverty Stats " are from Rep Markey, the Death by Lack of Health Care are from Harvard, the 50 Million Uninsured is from AmericansforHealthcareNOW, MadAsHellDocs, and Vet Numbers are from Different Vet Orgs, which I have posted before, so I will have to dig up. The Lost Homes to vets was actually Business Insider....etc..I will have to check notebook re. the Foreclosure issue. ( I blogged tweeted over 300 posts for Healthcare ...during the election and HCR battle...so I am pretty strong on those...the Foreclosure numbers are from previous posts I wrote...Financial Times stats)

I hope that helps....if you need more I can get - can't fit here ( you can email me if you want)

mostly I wrote this post so folks can use for Twitter and MIC CHECK....

thanks Tarad

great list. and my parents will not see meaning in those numbers unless i can find numbers of the 1%'s stratospheric increase in wealth, banker's bonuses compared to how many who held mortgages w/ that bank and lost their home...i need to find glaringly opposing numbers- to show the huge divide. but i'm def printing your list. maybe i'll put it on parent's fridge :)

you are actually right ...I should indeed do a post on the 1% that is an excellent idea and show how their wealth increased, esp over the last 30 years, and especially over the last 10 years...
