HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

Happy Mother's Day to Blogatopia. May you be spending the day with those you love and enjoying the day. I am a Mom, I always wanted to be a Mom, there is no more important job. It is the Best Job I have ever had. Moms are the glue in any family. They patch the jeans, clean up sticky messes, fix broken toys, take care of upset tummies at 3am,wipe runny noses, tenderly apply bandaids on those little people wounds, make Pancakes on Sundays and cookies on rainy days, hold hands on long walks, watch SpongeBob and read Harry Potter at all hours. Moms try their Best to teach the Bigger Lessons and the Importance of Small Moments.May you all have wonderful Small moments.

Happy Mothers Day to all of you wonderful Moms and Dads.

Children Learn What They Live

If Children live with criticism,
They learn to condemn.

If Children live with hostility,
They learn to fight.

If Children live with ridicule,
They learn to be shy.

If Children live with shame,
They learn to feel guilty.

If Children with tolerance,
They learn to be patient.

If Children live encouragement,
They learn confidence.

If Children live with praise,
They learn to appreciate.

If Children live with fairness,
They learn justice.

If Children live with security,
They learn to have faith.

If children live with approval,
They learn to like themselves.

If Children live with Acceptance and Friendship,
They learn to find love in the world.

And to you, Enigma

Worried is in the middle of a family situation or I'm sure she'd say it as well.

Happy Mother's Day, my dear. How wonderful that you have family to surround you on this very special day. I know that poem you cited very, very well. I wish more parents would take its admonitions to heart. A parent's worth is always reflected in their children's eyes. I'm sure you feel 1000 feet tall today!

Enigma, I hope your time with the 15 year old was good. We planted a Japanese Cherry Flowering tree today.

Peace and namaste.

"Importance of small moments" - that's such an important thing and something that some of us (me) have to keep learning over and over.

every day should be mother's day...

that poem should be part of every sex-education curriculum in the country...too many people appear to believe that the mere act of creating and popping out a baby magically transforms one into a good parent...the sad fact is that it rarely happens that way and too many children grow up stunted, twisted and abused because of it...the real meaning of "no child left behind" is in your post...

I've always loved that poem. I always wanted to be a mother too, but the one thing motherhood didn't prepare me for was the pain I would feel when my children got broken hearts. Broken relationships, lost jobs, death of loved ones, etc., happen to all of us, but we never want them to happen to our children. I felt their pain just as though these things happened to me.

And some of us grow up to be okay people in spite of our parents.
May I be the first to wish you Happy Mothers Day for year 2007 :)

I love that Dorothy Law Nolte piece, it was framed in my house growing up. Your writing is splendid on the subject of being a Mom. I'm not a mom, but I do 'mother' to some. I have the utmost respect for moms.

Happy belated Mom's day to one of my Favorite Mothers (and no, I don't *mean* anything by that! lol).

Hope everybody got a chance to take Tina Fey's advice Sunday by "picking up the phone and putting that fire out." My own mom down in Arkansas put it well...she says she doesn't get mad if she doesn't get a card. She gets her feelings hurt if you don't REMEMBER. She's such a pip, and I'll never live up to the example she's always set.

God bless Mama.

Here's a funny mommy story: Tonight while getting BabyGirl's pj's on, I sneezed like 4 times in a row. BabyGirl pats my hand and says: "It okay mommy. Ask you doctor 'bout Nasonex." Dear God... TV is the devil.

Glad to hear you and your son had a good day, my dear. He sounds like a lovely person. Sorry you still have difficulty commenting on my blog. If I could fix it I would. By the way - your blog is part of my Friday Feature's. Come on over and check it out any time. Take care.

good grief, tina, that funny mommy story is scary in the insight it gives about the influence of commercials on still-forming minds..."give me your children until they are 6, and they are mine forever"

I am gross and perverted, I'm obsessed and deranged
I have existed for years but very little has changed
I'm the tool of the government and industry, too
for I am destined to rule and regulate you
I may be vile and pernicious, but you can't look away
I'll make you think I'm delicious with the stuff that I say
I'm the best you can get, have you guessed me, yet?
I'm the slime oozing out from your TV set

Maine Friend: What can I say- you once again found a GREAT quote- Zappa really nailed it - didn't he...

No Blood: I am okay....lying low- rooting for the Cav's to beat the pistons and waiting for the Finale of 24 and Lost...
and still tending Sol....and of course pestering my son...

Kat: I am still looking for little green men for The Project..
( walmart- struck out, CVS-nope..hmm, need to continue the search- maybe they are on a special mission?)

FLS: I made your Friday Features list- wow- that is truly an honor thank you...and yes my 6-6 guy is great...I am blessed.

Glenda: me 2....thanks...I am adding you to my blogroll this week- if Blogger won't keep giving me a hard time.

Tina: that story is still making me laugh....

Mel: you are so funny...and yes mama's are the best...always....

Jenny: I love what you said..and yeah- there is a little mom in all of us.

Fred and Gugon- I love when you come by...

Pat: I loved what you said..and I had a grandmother that taught me well...thank heavens..

(Enigma Cafe: Sorry it took me so long to respond back to everyone...I have been a bit swamped these past few weeks..fresh coffee on and love in the buns)

Peacechick: I have been so lucky to have a grandmother and aunties that taught me well and wonderful friends over the years- all have helped me be a better mom....

Kathy: and what you said about the pain of our children is so true...but we also share their joys...the first time the shoelace is tied with sucess, the first time a child writes their name....I could go on and on...The Important thing is the being there..the late night talks, the long walks, the singing in the car, and watching the sunset....it all matters..

Zen Yenta: yes, the small moments...and they do so matter.

Rose: thank you, everyone is late here ;-)..the importance is the being here...and I am glad you are here ;-)

Lizzy: I love that you planted a tree- what a great tradition....

PT: keep coming by...there is always coffee on for you and the rest of this nice gang...

Have a good weekend everyone....
