BUT today we also saw Obama turn up the heat on the Dems as well...and I think that is what is needed....Obama Showing One and All WHO is the Boss now...

Even with a tax cut, businesses won't hire workers unless there are customers to buy what those workers produce. A government stimulus that creates jobs is a necessary precondition.
This isn't a matter of more or less government, however much Republicans and conservatives would like to wedge it in that old ideological box. The issue is how to revive the economy. When consumers and businesses can't or won't spend enough to keep the economy going, government has to be the spender of last resort. Period."
Noon Friday 3.5.09:::: WASHINGTON — Recession-battered employers eliminated 598,000 jobs in January, the most since the end of 1974, and catapulted the unemployment rate to 7.6 percent. The grim figures were further proof that the nation's job climate is deteriorating at an alarming clip with no end in sight.
The Labor Department's report, released Friday, showed the terrible toll the drawn-out recession is having on workers and companies. It also puts even more pressure on Congress and President Barack Obama's administration to revive the economy through a stimulus package and a revamped financial bailout plan, both of which are nearing completion.....
Okay...as a Nurse I was really hoping that Obama would choose Someone really strong and smart to deal with Our Health Care Mess....Someone that understands HOW bad it is, that this is a Dire Situation.....Now after watching some of the hearings and listening to some of the testimony and also reading that he had PAID speaking engagements with healthcare companies....I had some concerns.....My concerns a week ago were that he was too closely aligned and perhaps connected to healthcare companies. But I was going to hold judgement and finish reading his book,because I am just a nurse, and I am sure that Obama's folks vetted him.....right ? No, not right......
So Now here we are a week later...and it turns out that no, that was only half the story....Daschle had Tax issues, over $100,000 worth of tax issues. ( Which kind of confuses me- don't people like Dascle have like Fancy H&R Block people go through their taxes with a fine toothed comb ? and wouldn't they see a "Limo with Driver" as a bit of a problem "Gift" ??? and on another level, I am still really confused WHO "gave " him the car and the driver ? Was it a healthcare company ? ) So on another level, if Daschle knew that Obama would want him on board, wouldn't he spend extra time getting his "house" in order ? See poor person that I am, I would have been spending all last summer, tidying and dotting my "I"s and P's and Q's and being meticulous, so as not to cause the New President Problems.....
And then on another level I think I do Not understand DC, or the Politics there...at all.....it's kind of like when we found out that Edwards was Embedding the Videographer....I am confused, do they have a different set of rules and morals than the rest of us ? Do they have a different code ? And if there is such a code, could we see it ? Because I really want to believe again that People In Charge have Values and Ethics.....But I wish Obama luck finding enough people....good people.

Apparently the little furry varmint did not like the Mayor...but he did enjoy chomping on the leather gloves....I am not sure where this falls in Perdicting Winter....poor critter....Now I gotta say the mayor is not real bright- he kept sticking his hand in and stealing the corn....so I think Chuck might have had reason to be annoyed....jus sayin'.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So here are my late night winter thoughts, two weeks into the Obama Presidency....I am still kind of stunned he really is Our President....But there are some clouds over this new presidency....that are already keeping me up at night....
(1) Our New President 's Work Ethics....:::: Obama has already been working very hard on many fronts, and it is breathtaking the amount he is capable of focusing on.....I have been watching his face and his eyes, he is clearly worried...very. I worry is OUR Economic Picture WORSE than we know ? How bad is it ? And I was glad to see that he was ChiTown Tough about the greedy Wall Street maneuvers, but I have been concerned he is reaching out to the Repugs, and maybe they don't deserve such Kindness or Diplomacy....
(2) The Grand Obstruction Party::: Which Leads to my next concern, It seems that the GOP, the Repugs, for monthes were lost and lacking direction, leadership....and that without Fearmongering and Terra to focus on they had no "Cause" to embrace....well, now it appears they have Found their NEW Cause....to Obstruct....in any and all ways. I am wondering if they are just used to having their Own Way for So many years ? Like Spoiled Children enabled by Bush they never really had to listen to their own Constituents or take care of the people in their state....They now rush to the microphone ready to whine and complain....and obstruct. ( and yet Obama has not really given them ANY real reason to do so...)
(3) About Victims of the Bush Regime::: After 8 years of Bush, there are Victims of the Regime that had a stranglehold on this Country....The Constitution was shredded...and Rights were violated....Citizens were spied on, and Gitmo happened, and even Torture and an Illegal War happened in OUR name.....but like Victims of ANY Crime, or even those that witnessed a Crime, there can be No Healing, until a path is set to Deal With the Crimes in a way that Acknowledges the Crimes and also shows that Justice is a part of the Path. Otherwise none of us can heal or move Forward...( the press keeps saying that Obama wants to move forward- that is what they say- we actually have never heard WHAT Obama wants, or how he plans to move us forward....he has been silent).And now we Know that the Illegal War based on Lies, may indeed have broken the bank.....and that we have been economically raped and pillaged.....But I don't think Bush and his Cronies should be allowed to just stroll off into the sunset.... Not when I have families sleeping in cars in my neighborhood eating Cold Spaghetti "O's out of a can by the light of a Flashlight....
And yet I also know over in Iraq....there are families also sheltering in crumbling buildings in the Dark eating cold food out of cans...and that we bear responsibility for that too....and the Whole World is Watching.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Late Night Music.... So here in Ohio more and more people have been foreclosed, I am still trying to find the exact numbers....but an interesting issue has come up....Some of the Officials, including a Representative is encouraging that people "squat", yes, stay in their homes....Others are encouraging that the " Title of Ownership" be shown....In our hood there are many empty homes, just empty, abandoned....and at night there are also people sleeping in their cars, and yes, some of the homes are being squatted in.....Is this a solution...maybe...Watch the Videos below and see what you think....

Conyers Subpoenas Karl Rove: "It's Time to Talk"
(Washington, D.C.) --- Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers, Jr. issued a subpoena to Karl Rove requiring him to testify regarding his role in the Bush Administration's politicization of the Department of Justice, including the US Attorney firings and the prosecution of former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman. The subpoena was issued pursuant to authority granted in H.R. 5 (111th Congress), and calls for Mr. Rove to appear at deposition on Monday, February 2, 2009. Mr. Rove has previously refused to appear in response to a Judiciary Committee subpoena, claiming that even former presidential advisers cannot be compelled to testify before Congress. That "absolute immunity" position was supported by then-President Bush, but it has been rejected by U.S. District Judge John Bates and President Obama has previously dismissed the claim as "completely misguided."
"I have said many times that I will carry this investigation forward to its conclusion, whether in Congress or in court, and today's action is an important step along the way," said Mr. Conyers. Noting that the change in administration may impact the legal arguments available to Mr. Rove in this long-running dispute, Mr. Conyers added "Change has come to Washington, and I hope Karl Rove is ready for it. After two years of stonewalling, it's time for him to talk."

Punxsutawney Phil emerged just after dawn in front of an estimated 13,000 witnesses, many dressed in black and gold to celebrate the Pittsburgh Steelers' Super Bowl victory the night before."There's significant buzz from the Steelers win and quite a few Terrible Towels floating from the crowd," said Mickey Rowley, deputy secretary for tourism in Pennsylvania.The annual ritual takes place on Gobbler's Knob, a tiny hill in Punxsutawney, a borough of about 6,100 residents some 65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.The Punxsutawney Groundhog Club announced the forecast in a short proclamation, in which Phil acknowledged the Steelers' 27-23 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
According to German superstition, if a hibernating animal casts a shadow on Feb. 2 _ the Christian holiday of Candlemas _ winter will last another six weeks. If no shadow is seen, legend says, spring will come early.Since 1887, Phil has seen his shadow 97 times, hasn't seen it 15 times, and there are no records for nine years, according to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club. In reality, Phil doesn't see much of anything. The result is actually decided in advance by 14 members of the club's Inner Circle, who don tuxedos and top hats for the event.
