SHOULDN'T BE THERE...PERIOD.

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

I look at this photo and I am struck that this kid should not be there.
There is innocence in this young face.
There is tenderness....a thoughtful moment.
There is a bittersweet homesick quality as well.

How dare Someone like Rumsfeld and this inept King make decisions about
Our Children being sent to Places doing Things In their Names- NOT OUR NAMES.

And I know that there are Mothers in Iraq that worry about their Children
everyday - because they are being occupied and are losing family and friends and
neighbors and Children Everyday.

It is time to stop the flow of Blood of All of Our Children.

Sniff. Sob. I had a son in the old Gulf War and let me tell you, I was one crazed woman the whole time he was there. I HATE WAR.

I totally agree with you, in fact I posted that pic about a year ago.

Great(?) minds think alike. ;-)

i was driving behind a SUV with army stickers all over the back of it - - then i noticed one that said 'proud parent'

i wanted to just cry...yes, she is a proud parent but how will she feel when he comes back with no legs and she spends the rest of his life taking care of him -- the depression and drug addiction...

just a repeat of Nam...except this time, there are less casualties - - know why? because of better medical treatment and advanced procedures more of our soldiers are surviving..but in what condition are they alive?

This picture totally captures the old adage:

War is unhealthy for children
and other living things.

I can only hope that both this beautiful young man and the kitten receiving his tenderness have survived the rotten place that forces have placed them.

Heartbreaking. Just heartbreaking. This whole thing is terrible. I wish like hell that Bush and the rest of them will have to answer for their atrocities - but mass murderers rarely do; and wealthy mass murderers never have to answer for anything.

Amen, Enigma.
Julia Ward Howe speaking on war and activism in the 1860's said "Why do not the mothers of mankind interfere in these matters to prevent the waste of that human life of which they alone bear and know the cost?" Thank God for Cindy Sheehan and Gold Star Moms for Peace. No child should kill or die for anyone's war.
