Happy Thanksgiving.....Patient Critters,Healing Turkey,Heater that hums, and being Thankful....and still hopeful.

Xena waits for Turkey ....patiently....the smells stirred something inside her....and even though she is going blind, having trouble moving and can not always remember where she was going...she sat in the kitchen on her old bird perch and watched me for 3 hours making dinner, the snow had melted by Thanksgiving Day so she could not see the birds and squirrels, but she sat there anyways.....waiting knowingly....and smiling.

So I took a week away...unexpectedly, and in some ways maybe much needed.... It was a week of working too much, by the end of this week I will now have 3 part time jobs, and I hope that is enough....( at some point I will blog about them, only one is nurse oriented)...and then there was the sick Modem that refused to recognize my computer, and some other smaller problems.....but all in all still a wonderful Thanksgiving.I am still grateful for so much....for furry critters that for some reason still love my cooking...for a son that still likes my Turkey and even though he is a teen says things that are wise and insightful,and still cares about things...for Blogatopia that still makes me smile and have hope, even when things are less than grim....And that somehow the Neocons did not steal this Election...and that we get a chance to hope for Change....now I just pray that it is not too late. It was quite a month....hoping and praying that History would indeed turn a page....and that we would be part of it...
and we were....

In some ways I am still in shock...and in other ways I worry how much more broken things will be by January....King George has broken all the toys in toy box....even though they were never his to break. And sadly it will put added pressure and scrutiny on Obama, and I worry that much of what he offered in hope will be dampened because of the Broken Landscape he is handed....

I will do better to be Here.....and somehow get my Blogging rhythm back.....

I hope you had a good one too....I hope you and the kitties are okay....and that all is well in your end of the world...

...I am just trying to make ends meet and also save money for 6-6 to go to college...and any part time work is better than NO job...I am just grateful for any work....at this point...

No wonder you had no time to blog.... 3 jobs is as much as a person can do.

Have your son go to the school office & find help to apply for all potential grants, scholarships monies.
Even if you don;t get a big full on scholarship, every little bit helps. It takes effort, but the time is well spent. Our high school had a great program, and they went after every little thing available, if 6-6 needs some guidance, go with him & get him started. Our HS did have some after hours help & you can find some things online as well.

It all helps!

thanks for your advice and your thoughts....Ohio is a mess...in many ways...but we will figure it out., he plans to go to school a year late in another state- that gives us more options...and alternative solutions.....in January many Programs are being revised...Eventually it will come out that many grants, scholarships and financial Aid programs for college have been hurt by the financial mess....what was available a year ago is sorely damaged- the hit on Wachovia will come to light....( the loss of Pell grants is also another problem....)But with another year to evaluate this mess...it will all work out...I will get him to Film School....

Xena waiting patiently is 180 degree difference from the Siamutt Twins (Mindi and Kili) who MAOWED for 4 hours while the turkey cooked. Good Kitty, Xena - have some catnip.

I'm glad you got your modem sorted - we miss you when you are gone. Since you lost your sn*w, I am sending you more tonight. Or tomorrow. Soon. (3-5 inches here overnite)

The thing that has me most confused is how many "progressive" folks are getting mouthy at Mr. Obama about what he hasn't done yet.

Ummm... Like take the Oath of Office????? Makes me want to slap them upside the head and tell them it was bad enough that the Rep's weren't willing to read the Constitution - they have NO EXCUSE for doing so also!

hey there....ahhh, some hungry kitties waited not so patiently....( I would bet Somebody gave them turkey anyways,.....)About Obama...I am waiting and watching who and what he is doing....but the bottemline is I trust him- he is in Chitown- with his braintrust, brainstorming with his team(s) and I like how he is bringing out/introducing team after team for us to see ....and I saw him on an interiew talking about how he picks people that he knows he can call at 3am and problem solve....I LIKE THAT....alot....And I hate to say it ...there are many who will never ever be satisfied with Anything he does...( isn't it amazing we will have a Constitutional Lawyer at the Helm...really something...still have days where I get giddy thinking about it...)

it's funny I never thought of her has patient....until now....now she is....most days she is up in her princess room, where I put a bed at the height of the window so she can look out...does not have to jump to get there....and she can see the birds-when it snows...her whole room is her Condo- arranged for her comfort....( boy that is the way it should be when one gets old...no struggle and much comfort...)

Glad to hear you had a nice Thanksgiving! Love the picture of the kitty. Xena looks like a tortoiseshell kitty in the picture of her on her perch. One of mine is a dilute tortoiseshell so instead of being mostly black and orange, she is light grey and a light peach color.

Glad your holiday was nice. Working three jobs is burning the candle at both ends, I know, I have done it. Only a few weeks until things begin to change.

I'm sure for every time I checked here to see if Enigma was back there were likely a 100 or two hits doing the same.

So glad TG went well for you and yours. That first paragraph re Xena with dimming visions maintaining some keenness for something she still enjoys literally had me choked up.

There are moments of lucidity with Sam, my editor, where I swear I grasp fleetingly the greater sense of all that matters.

Sadly, it fades all too quickly and I am back in the fold, hoping the Browns upset the Colts or the Indians avenge Bombay's weekend by attacking the Pakistanis. (Sarcasm)

Anyway, welcome back. Glad you are all are well. We're gonna need everyone this coming year.

And, as busy as you are E4E, does it comfort you any to know that if you were to be spotted in a crowd where Bush is appearing, he would hold you up as a shining example of what America can become for everyone who can hold down three jobs and still manage a home?

Congratulations! Just know many admire and love you! You DO inspire us!

As to blogging, a holiday is often needed. (I'm beginning my second year of holiday from blogging!)

But you are still needed, though, hopefully, not as much as during the Bushie tirade!

ahhhh my Xena- my princess....she is almost 14...and she has moments that are less than lucid,....I hate seeing her lose her vision....but I realized that smell of fresh turkey stirred her memories and her soul.....I swear she looked 10 years younger sitting on the perch....she even sat and "talked " to me while I sliced and diced....you are so funny...if Bush ever met me- boy would I have a piece of my mind to give to him !!!Sam , your wonderful editor- I know that he looks wise and thoughtful in your photos....I hope I do inspire us all to hang in there and keep going and get through this all together....I know I am always inspired by all of you....it always feels like coming home to come to the blog and check on everyone...but thank you for your warm thoughts...many hugs..

I never planned to work like this...but there are not FT jobs..and NO FT nurse jobs- ( I supposedly cost too much...so I am working PT work....in three places...) that is the way of it..have to make ends meet.....have to make it work...I am grateful for any work....Hope all is well down your way....I will be getting caught up this week...thank you for understanding....
