Senator Webb " We'll show you the way"

So Senator Webb gave his speech after Mr.Bush. He was strong, credible, and he educated Americans about His own History and then he spoke about American Presidents. He spoke up about the Value of good Leadership. He spoke of his family's History serving Our Country, that is why I have included his Vietnam 1969 picture, because this is a man that clearly understands War and it's losses. He spoke for nine minutes, and he spoke about Issues that matter, the struggles of the Working Class, the Healthcare Debacle in this County, and the Abandoned of Katrina. He was Intelligent and Eloquent. He could be President one day, he knows What Matters. And when he spoke of the Iraq he called the President Reckless. At the end of the Speech he offered to Mr.Bush that the Democrats could Show him The Way.This is not a man to be Duped or Trifled with. Please do write his office and say Thank you.

*** If you need to see the Webb Speech again, I know I did, it is right below.***

I'm so glad Webb spent time talking about Iraq seeing as how Bush couldn't be bothered. Also Webb brought up the destruction of the middle class in America. Now I know everytime a dem brings that up, the repugs start screaming class warfare insults. But we all know the middle class has been just about milked dry by bushco. Strange, you'd think the wealthy would have a vested interest in keeping the middle class intact since without the hope of the middle class, the wealthy might have to deal with out'n'out anarchy. A vibrant middle-class used to be what set us apart from all other nations. So, if I heard Webb correctly (and I hope I did), he's saying there really is a war being waged on the middle class & it's yet another neocon-inspired bush-implemented war. I know things like this take a backseat to Iraq, but I was glad he at least brought it up. Webb provided an excellent rebuttal, so much better than that guy last year, the one with the eyebrows.

And, tell me Enigma, with your nursing skills, what did you make of Cheney's first few minutes? I mean he looked physically ill. Then he reached under the desk & popped something into his mouth & started swallowing rapidly. This went on for a long time, maybe 15-minutes. Was it only a sore-throat lozenge, or is there some sublingual heart medication he was popping to melt under his tongue? Once it took effect, he hardly even blinked during the rest of the speech. ~~ D.K.

Hey Annie and DK Raed.....
Whelp I think you brought up better points than I wrote about...I thought Webb was amazing.....NOW about Cheney- I have to tell you I joked below about watching him because he had such a BAD day- and then sure enough he looked like crap...pasty and pale for sure....and then he looked like he was out of it- at first I thought that he was tanked drunk...he was even watching Pelosi for Clues as to when to clap etc. He looked barely cognizant....and I did notice him chewing something - I was trying to figure out what the heck? pills, nitro? what? he was definently not well- and then I thought about it- he wants us to THINK him ill so in the next few weeks he can say " I have to leave due to health problems"....he looked like crap- and I don't know if his Guidant Heart pump is finally crapping out or if he decided to martini it...But there was Something going on...hmm, maybe he was Stroking ? ( People noticed- over on C&L it was ALL that anyone talked about).

Wesley Clark was on FOX ( late night I woke up and I was surfing- I will watch Wes on Anything...) Wes should run again- he is so damn sharp- he pointed out that Webb did a great job pointing out What Matters to the American People- FOX was all in a hot day lather because Webb called Mr Bush Reckless- oh my....LOL....

sorry to harp on what was in cheney's mouth -- but I did go over to C&L as you suggested, they were all over it. Now I haven't rewatched the speech, don't know if I can stomach it, but from what I recall, he reached under the desk & grabbed something & put it very quickly into his mouth. He did NOT have to unwrap it, so I think not a throat lozenge. He didn't have to plink it out of a container, so not a tic-tac. It was something unwrapped & loose. Of course he could have pre-unwrapped or taken out single tic-tacs or mints & laid them out under the desk before the show. Anyways, when he popped it into his gob, he did NOT suck or roll it around like a mint, all he did was repeatedly swallow rapidly. When I saw that, I thought he was dry-swallowing a pill. BUT! Then he kept doing the swallow thing for a long time, many minutes, like he was dissolving something. And yes, he barely blinked at all while this was going on. So ... does anyone know? Just a little mint, or? I've never seen him do anything like that before. Maybe nancy signaled him rotting soul was stinking up the place? ~~ D.K.

Best of the night by far. Webb's got a big future, and he doesn't even have a perminant office in Washington yet.

I will be back to comment after I watch Keith- but I just wanted to say there are 1542 articles on Senators coming out Against Bush and his "Surge". And if you didn't see Hagel today, OMG, well rush to C&L and see it- he kicked ass- of both dems and repugs....

JACK: Everything you said is so true...and dead on, and NONE of it was in the SOTU...Webb spoke the Truth and about what really matters...

AZ: yeah,Blogger has been swamped...really maxed...I had trouble too...If you want to read more rude running commentary it is below...on the next post in the Comments section ( looks like I was talking to myself)

FRED: yup..a Voice from a Storage room in the Basement spoke the Truth...and he was amazing...all in 9 minutes...( he is a writer- and he knows how to make those Words Matter).

DK: Now I confess I spend way too much time watching this stuff and cspan...but anyways....I have seen him do it before, and he did it during the Concentration Camp Speech- ( remember that with the Hunting Outfit ?)And when Bush was last sworn in- he had a little white container with him during the Inaugeration. But last night I am serious he looked unwell- like he had mixed heart meds and liquor. ( And just to reassure you all, I am not being compassionate here- just observant...)
I have no idea what is going on with him..but there is something- I still think with this Fitz trial going on I expect him to step down due to Ahem Health Problems...McCain or Joe would love to vie for his job...and they both have been kissed- so time will tell...

He spoke up about the Value of good Leadership.
You mean like promising not to impeach a known, self admitted war criminal, right? No, that wasn't Webb, that was Platitude Pelosi.

His speech was masterful. Speeches don't bring troops home. Balls do. Show me the bottom line, not the description of it.

And good ol' Shrub is still paying lip service to "bipartisanship". He can keep lying all he wants to about that, but the real message the voters sent in November is "It's the war, stupid."

I need to hunt up a copy of the transcript of Webb's rebuttal ~~ silly me wandered away from the telly before he came on. I chalk it up to too little sleep and to much going on when I'm awake. Thank god for Randi Rhodes and Air America Little Rock. 1380 AM KDXE -- I'm loving it.

And Hagel fucking rocked today. Made the local news; pretty good for Little Rock, which isn't near as red as everyone assumes.

Webb definitely rocked. I first saw Pelosi with something in her mouth...I figured some hard candies because her mouth might be dryish from nerves. Then I noticed the Dickster with the same mouth movements and I figured the same for him. I didn't happen to see him reach for something and pop it in his mouth. I did see him take a drink of what looked like water. I didn't think of him as ill...I thought he was just looking like the same old crusty buzzard that he always does. Personally...if I were married to his wife...I'd be ill all the time. Oh...and don't forget that the once powerful Dickster...isn't so powerful now...(misses his Rummy)...that he got a smackdown a while back. Looks like he could gets some more smacks from Libby too...hope so.

I save the Webb transcript. Good stuff. Thanks for the YouTube, as I fell asleep before Shrub even squawked.

Webb was very good. Like you I had trouble with blogger also. While doing a post on the SOTU I lost connection and lost post. Then when I tried to recover it I found it had corrupted another post. Then I lost connection again and when I tried to recover a second time it pulled my last post and corrupted both that and the Barney post in the create template. So I deleted that and reposted Barney on top. Then I did something really stupid and deleted the original Barney post and after replublishing discovered that the new Barney post was corrupted with part of the post under it so I had to delete that post.

Now I had a notepad copy of the Barney post and I thought a correct backup of my template so I first tried to replace the template, but it kept coming back with the template that I deleted. I must not be backing up my template properly or blogger won't allow you to delete the one you start with and put another one in its place so the only choice I had left was to repost and rebuild the Barney backup copy and edit it to show correctly in blogger.

That being the case I lost all comments on the original post and now I need to find out how to properly back my template up and replace it if neccessary. Got to go now as its time to hit the road for work. Take care and

God Bless.

The one thing about the shrubs speech that bothered me was, why are all these people clapping? I even woke up in the night with that question. Why would anyone applaud that man at all? Webb? Different story. Too bad there wasn't a huge crowd there to cheer as cheer, we did. I did write to him and thank him for speaking up for us.
