Welcome back.

We certainly dodged a bullet last Tuesday. Just imagine what could have transpired. Actually, Phil Collins has already provided a portrait of what a McCain administration would look like.

Nice to have you back! :)

This week Sarah Palin has been nonstop on all the tv stations - UGH! My eardrums could certainly use a rest from her continuous stream of incoherant speech. Hopefully the nonstop "exclusive" interviews stop soon.

As an early xmas gift to myself - I went to the offical barackobama.com site and got a 2008 victory tshirt by making a contribution. It's a great tshirt you might like it too.

I guess since I use both a lap-top and desk-top, I don't think of what might happen should my batteries 'go dead'; figured you must have gotten so happy about Obama being elected, you'd taken a holiday to the moon and hadn't arrived home yet.

Re the comment on Palin - I so agree - I THOUGHT WE'D BE DONE WITH HER, BUT SHE SURE HANGS ON LIKE A BULL-DOG WITH THAT GRIP OF HERS. Maybe she meant to say a 'bull-dog' who keeps showing up like a 'hound-dog' looking for something to 'talk about or bitch about'!

I guess the good news is Obama is now going to give all of us a new beginning and chance; everyone is marking down prices on 'things to buy' for the holidays, and gasoline has dropped more than $2.00/gallon in our area. Hooray, that's a good thing since we head out for California later this month and don't come back until after the New Year.

Went to a great bazaar that the Indians put on each year; the Hopi, Navajo, and Mojave tribes - got some beautiful hand-made/made in America gifts - everyone should do more of that. We need to boycott buying anything that isn't made locally; in our country - by our American citizens when we decide on gifts for the holidays that are ahead.

A lovely lady who makes the MOST BEAUTIFUL JEWELRY that you'd pay 5 to 10 times more on the I-net gave me her card today; let me leave this information here in case someone wants something very special and MADE IN THIS COUNTRY for gifts.

Her name is Karen; her number is 760-228-3081, and her little business is called WHITE LLAMA, she lives in Yucca Valley, CA 92284 and she doesn't have a web-site or even a computer.

Her work is beautiful and what she doesn't make herself, she gets from the Indians - you can also write her at:

Karen, White Llama, 56925 Yucca Trail, PMB#539, Yucca VAlley, CA 92284. She knows my name as 'Diane' (which it is of course), and she takes CASH OR MONEY ORDER/PERSONAL CHECK (she doesn't use any credit cards herself, nor does she accept them).

She's personable; as I said, her work is outstanding - I might try to see if I can photograph a beautiful hand-made bracelet she did (that I bought), and can send it to you to POST if you want to (since she has no web-site or blog to link up to).

I'd seen a similar hand-made bracelet in an expensive gift-shop in Palm Springs; it was $69.95 - I bought mine for $8.00 - LESS THAN $10.00 and of course it would ship at a very small price because it weighs so little.

This year I'll be spending my money locally, and when I find something terrific I'll probably start a blog on things that are 'special' and priced way below the department store prices. When anyone has an e-mail address, I'll get their permission to give it out and of course if they have a blog or web-site, I'll set up links to that as well.

Karen will be in our area at the bazaar until the 23rd of this month, so she won't be back at her home until early December.

Having been in sales and marketing and VP of marketing for 11 years (covering all of the West Coast), I just assumed people would advertise. All too often I'd find these wonderful items so beautifully made, and not one little 'peep' of advertising because of course that RAISES THE SELLING PRICE.

Anyway, I think it's time for all of us to start sharing as best we can, WHAT WE CAN DO TO HELP SMALL MERCHANTS AND CRAFTSPEOPLE sell more of their 'wares' and spend much less time tromping the malls.

Glad you're 'back from the moon' - and ready to keep current now.

'Welcome home'. Diane
