MSNBC IS CALLING THE ELECTION FOR BARACK OBAMA AS OF 11PM....WOW....WOW..THANK YOU AMERICA ...WE ARE ALL AMERICANS NOW...HOPE IS ALIVE..

OUR PRESIDENT.......Our Moment in Time....

Watch as MSNBC Calls it at 11PM and then watch the people Celebrate....really stunning...and yes, it was so right that Keith Olbermann announced it.....

The Obamas Coming to Grant Park on Election Night....and taking the Stage....and President Obama's Victory Speech,

I can't find the Obama Victory Speech on Youtube, but there is plenty of The Victory Parties posted, this one is amazing, this is Spontaneous Partying in the Streets of DC, with people dancing in the Streets and Honking Horns.....cars stopped where they are when they heard the News....amazing.....

Grant Park In Chicago....Celebrating...( very different scene than 1968...)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT UPDATES OF ELECTION NIGHT:::::
From Wapo Campaign Trail:::"At about 2:15 a.m., there were maybe 1,000 people, possibly more, still going strong.
They'd started, many of them, at 14th and U Streets, or in Adams Morgan, or Dupont Circle. Word got around that the White House was the place to be. You didn't need to be told: You could see people streaming in that direction on all the major arteries of town.How long would this last? If there was even a flicker of fatigue in the crowd as the hour grew late, no worries: Reinforcements were on the way. You could hear them far up on the 16th Street, heading south. There were hundreds of them. Call it an even 500. They were Howard University students"....there were soon thousands in the streets celebrating in front of the Whitehouse...2 am on....Bush probally did not get much sleep....And the police stood and watched...and smiled..
The Letter Barack Obama Sent to his supporters as he headed over to Grant Park::::
"I'm about to head to Grant Park to talk to everyone gathered there, but I wanted to write to you first.
We just made history.
And I don't want you to forget how we did it.
You made history every single day during this campaign -- every day you knocked on doors, made a donation, or talked to your family, friends, and neighbors about why you believe it's time for change.
I want to thank all of you who gave your time, talent, and passion to this campaign.
We have a lot of work to do to get our country back on track, and I'll be in touch soon about what comes next.
But I want to be very clear about one thing...
All of this happened because of you.
Thank you, "
Barack
I told Mr. Hairball a while back that I could see Nevada possibly going blue because of Vegas being so hard hit by the housing crisis.
He got all teary-eyed when they declared Mr. Obama the winner. He's also originally from a swing state that went blue tonight so he's a little stunned right now.
Just listened to Obama's speech. Afterwards the camera panned on Jessie Jackson-- he was taken back - almost in tears, that he is witnessing a black brother make his presidential acceptance speech.
Much joy!! Crying screaming and clapping tonight!!! Still wide awake.
Sorry about GA guys. There is no paper trail here, so Chambliss and his fellow crooks have rigged the machines again. They've done this before. So disgusted.
BUT OBAMA WON!!!!!!! There are no words. He is going to be a great president. I feel it in my bones. His intelligence and compasson, his forward-thinking disposition and his practicality. Just no words for this victory.
My (white) immigrant great-grandparents were murdered by the KKK. They were good people who stood up for what was right. But racists did no damage to the cause of good tonight, as I'd feared they would. Hallelujah!
HOOOOOO!! I don't know what else to say! I was hanging out with peeps who have worked this election with me. And we fucking LOST IT when Obama won! Folks all over L.A. are just outside howling and honking horns. And I am hoarse from a combo of screaming & drinking champagne.
WE HELPED DO IT and it's a new era.
I am beyond words. I am so unbelievably blown away although I knew it would happen the reality is so much sweeter.
OMG I love you all so much right now!!
YES WE CAN!!!
OMG, we all have to collapse now, sleep for a month and (if you've been as bad as me) dry out & lose 10 lbs.... LOL!!!
2am...Updates on the 4 remaining states..538.com
Montana: Gallatin, where Bozeman is, has 0% reporting. That county should favor McCain. McCain appears to be narrowly holding Yellowstone, where Billings is. But Montana is ultratight and will go late.
Missouri: Obama trails by roughly 12,500 votes with 96% in. 88% is reporting in Jackson (heavy Democratic) and St. Louis County is not all in, with Obama leading it by 17 points and 93% reporting. Obama may pull this out, but it'll be exceptionally close.
North Carolina: Obama will probably hold on here. The North Carolina Board of Elections site has Obama up 11,000 or so with 100 of 100 counties reporting. But the nets haven't called it. This is probably the best bet of the four -- the Tarheel State going blue for Barack Obama.
Indiana: The outstanding vote is in Lake, Jasper and Allen. Jasper is more pronounced McCain right now, at 59-40. But the county is very small, and 72% precincts reporting. Allen is narrowly McCain, and not anywhere close enough to flip the roughly 23,000 votes by which Obama leads. Lake, a hugely Democratic county, still has a few precincts out.
We always had a good feeling about Indiana when we saw it in our travels. This was a state where Obama had the ground game all to himself. With us predicting a slight win for McCain in the state, but no ground game taken into effect, and with a late minute canvassing push from FiveThirtyEight in Gary, Indiana looks like it'll go Obama.
Unknown said...
Holy WOW, Batman, this is getting ca-razy wonderful beyond what I can comprehend.
In other words: HOLY SHIT that guy is popular!
enigma4ever said...
It is looking like the last 4 could go for Obama..which yeah would and could and will be amazing...
I am going to surf the dials for a bit..
thanks Helen..and everyone for being here...
I will update before I go to bed...
Alaska #'s finally posting- lookin' RED- even 7 indictment Ted Stevens looks to be winning (must be someting in the water up there???).
Fran said...
Sorry to say PropR in California- If you vote "yes," you want the City to change the name of the Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant to the George W Bush Sewage Plant.
is failing
63,580 / 30.87% Yes votes ...... 142,385 / 69.13% No votes
If they could have pulled that off anywhere it would have been in San Francisco.
enigma4ever said...
all sweage plants and garbage dumps should be named for Bush and Cheney...
;-)
Obama 349......McCain 162....
Fran said...
MN just flipped for Franken, but it's real tight.
Yes for dumps & sewage as Bush memorials- sorry but he's earned it .
But seriously, this is so good for our country & the global community.
We've saved ourselves.
The US has soul & did not succumb to the nasty tactics & low road stuff McCain pulled. Makes it double sweet, the win,
I know we can't win 'em all, but this morning I'm disheartened a bit that Prop8 passed here in California.
What a blow to civil liberties here in L.A. Basically, we've allowed a religious group from another state to tell us that gay marriage should be illegal.
And I just attended my sister's wedding to her longtime partner so it feels all the more personal.
Welp. We got work to do.
Oh and that lousy Michelle Bachmann managed to win? WTF?
I am still pulling for Al Franken, what a battle that one is!!! Holy Cow.
But I'm still just ecstatic about our new president. The world is rejoicing, not just us.
I had my first good night's sleep in months, but I kept waking myself up to make sure it wasn't all a dream! Gotta go check the news, but wanted to stop by here first and say:
My spirit was here with you all last night, but my mouth was on the phone to every friend & relative as we all cried over the good news! I wish I owned a cowbell last night. Our UT repub neighborhood was deathly quiet. What they needed was ... MORE COWBELL!!!
I am still in shock & can't stop smiling!
Congrats!!!! to all of us and particularly you, who so ardently and consistently held the torch and worked so hard to make this moment a grace of truth, so badly needed in this downtrodden Democracy of ours. Peace MandT
Ah, so "Saxby's still Saxby" huh? *grins*
I used to live in GA and one year when he was running, he had radio ads where he talked about how Social Security must be preserved. He talked about how it was especially important to him because it was his widowed mother's only source of income. I was driving down the street and started yelling "Damn you, Saxby Chambliss, you won't even help out your own Mama!?!"
Whenever I hear about him, I always think of that day. *snort*
How did that whack job Bachmann get re-elected?!? *confused*
Bye-Bye Miss Moose!! *cackles*
