Some Changes at Watergate Summer...11.6.08

So I have gotten some emails ,Asking Are you done blogging, The Election is over ? The Answer to that is No. I will still be blogging especially the next 74 days....Because we don't own The Change until Obama and his family are safely moved into the White House....I will still post everyday, mostly something Hopeful, because we are still facing a very rough economy. My Blog has been a very focused ObamaBlog, but now it will shift more focus on us and what we are facing as a Country, but Obama's Proposed Changes of course will be mentioned....After all a good bit of this Blog has been Politics as it Impacts Life....
I still respectfully ask that no one comes here and FearMongers, and yes, if people do, I will ask them to stop....My Blog is about Hope and keeping calm during Bad Times and Keeping Focused and Taking Care of Each Other....Nurturing a Community.

Atleast once a week I will try to post Something More Thoughtful.....but mostly it will be News tidbits during the day monitoring Changes as they come.I will still have the Friday Funnies and still have music or relevant videos, and still Blog Round Ups once a week....and yes, stories about 6-6 or my cats and my neighborhood...But I do work 2 part time jobs and also a bunch of odd jobs to make ends meet....and yes, I still spend alot of time with 6-6 ( because he is a Teen, and I want to make sure I steer him in the right direction...)

About THE Book, At this point I can not open any more Chapters up for public viewing. I have two interesting entities that are Interested. That is all I can Say. On Another Level because I had Someone From California attempt to Steal The Story, only the Original Chapters will remain open, but that is all. My Apologies, but I do hope you understand...and please do know THIS Year it will get published and you will be able to buy.

My Goal is to still nurture Our Humanity, and Our Empathy whether it be blogging on Homelessness , Health Issues,Job issues or Life In America as it is right now.....I hope you will stay along for the Ride....Namaste...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Naked Sushi still is my Food Blog, Obama Music Videos -I am still posting New Music,ENIGMA CAFE still has Soulfood.....I am also starting a New Blog to help coordinate people that want to get to The Inauguration...More On that later...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Click the title...Tonight's Music Dave Matthews "American Baby" ....song is not Embeddable, which makes me laugh, he certainly looks "beddable"...But I love it anyways...

You are an insightful writer with a good array of topics, life forges ahead-- there's *always something* going on to write about. News, views, perspectives- it's all good.

Lots of us became focused, OK- obsessed with the election, but hey- there is a lot on the line, and looking back, it was so worth it, so needed, such a good thing for this country. It is because we care about our country, our kids future, and our global community. there are worse things to be obsessed over!

Best wishes for your book, and I hope overall, things become better for everyone as a result of this effort.

Blog friends are a lifeline in both good times & bad.

just have to shift gears a bit...

Fran- thank you for all of your hard work....and wonderful blogging....it mattered ...more than we know....

I'm glad you'll keep posting; I had not realized that you might stop. We need to keep hoping and being positive. Obama has a hard road, as do we as a nation.

Enigma, I'm glad you will continue to write here - as Obama knows, we are only at the bottom of the mountain, not at the stop - the challenge is just beginning and we need to keep talking about what is happening as it develops.

You are so right we don't own the change until Obama is inaugurated. I am looking forward to whatever changes you blog. Life is about change.

That's good news about your book -- that it WILL be published! But I'm so sorry to hear someone tried to steal your story. WTF? That is YOUR story, your life, it belongs to YOU!

Dearest E..aha..I was thinking about perhaps going to the inauguration..how opportune for you to try to set something up.
DH just came back from his Philadelphia business trip and this coming Monday has a one-day meeting in Washington DC..they're definitely ready for a 'change of the guard' where he works (wink wink)..so perhaps this is something we can even do as a family..I don't know..it probably will be the biggest zoo on the planet, ha!
It is funny though isn't it that the Bush administration alongside the growth of the blogosphere, propelled all if not most of us to start a blog and voice our opinions. Most of my traffic comes from 'googlers' and having written often and extensively on political stuff, I'd like to think that I, like all of 'us' (see blogroll which we have a lot of in common) have kept information out in the open when the media did not do its work. We do own part of this change as we are part of such a greater whole.. every little drop in the bucket counted make no mistakes. It feels funny as what to blog about now but I will tell you, even past Obama's inauguration, there will be plenty to post about. Plenty issues to keep in focus and remind people of.

Like one of your 'must happen' list in the post below is closing down Guantanamo. When I was one of the early participants of 'bloggers against torture', that was one of the big goals; to get the media to pay attention to it and somehow spark an outrage of sorts..well, go check the blog saudi jeans (http://saudijeans.org/) where Ahmed talks about fasting for the release of Saudi detainees from Gitmo.
Obama's election might come as a bit of an anti-climax, but trust me, to make changes will still have a few mountains ahead of us and we all need to surmount that by sheer volume of us speaking out.

Thanks for all your passion and staying connected AND keeping everything/one in balance, that's the only way to pursue justice..and that's what we're all going for isn't it?

hugs,

Ingrid

ps..MY BAD!! Ahmed is not fasting for the Gitmo detainees (so much for reading something when you're distracted), but for prisoners in Saudi Arabia itself.. pretty gutsy as that could easily land him in jail as well. However, for a young pharmaceutical student, he's been in the int'l spotlight a lot so that would definitely draw unwanted attention..

sorry..

I had not heard of this student...I do know that there have been many fasts at Gitmo...and sadly it is still open...and MUST close..ASAP....and the New Prez must address WHAT it is- a Gulag...and treat it as such and abolish ANY laws that "allow" such a hideous thing to ever ever be created...

sigh...

Yes the Inauguration Blog is just getting started and yes I will post more on it- I need to add maps etc to it...I will spent most of December on that blog- I had heard that Hotel rooms are already selling out...I am just hoping that 6-6 does not whimp out on me...but either way there will be much to coordinate- and if we have a site where we can coordinate people connecting and getting there it would be awesome...( I love DC and have not been there in years- but grew up near there...it was my turf growing up...) So I know it is doable to connect us all to get there...

DK:::
you are so right - we don't own the change yet..that is it exactly...and with a new admnistration - yes it will be the time for my book...since Bush;s thugs are a piece of it....I needed a Clean House to release the book....The Bottem of the Mountain-that is so true...

Maui;;;
we definently need to keep talking..for sure..and yes......we must keep this momentum going...and sadly we all know there is much mess to face... encounter...work on....but we can do it...look what we helped make happen ;-)

AnonP::
yes....I will still be here..and I know you read...bless you - you are a wonderful soul...and see there was a Hope Movement...and it made all the difference -= and we all were a part of it- and can still be,...
;-)

Jan::::
I think some folks found my blog during Election year and since much of it had been blogging about and for Obama this year- I think they thought I was just blogging to get him elected...I was blogging for Change...Regime Change...and for hope...even before I was blogging for Obama..and I have been blogging since 2005...I am not giving up until we are on a better path...( I also had said I was leaving the US if McCain got elected..and I meant it...and yes, I would have stopped blogging if THAT had happened...seriously...)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All of us need to keep at it...and keep helping support each other...and Obama...he is not sworn in yet- but he is our President...and the Change is ours too...
I'm personally really glad you have renewed your commitment to your blog. You're someone I love to read, and someone I've grown to consider a "friend" along the way.
(I don't invite total strangers to crash at my hacienda!)
We have one ONE battle. We have many challenges, many battles and much to struggle over. As you said, Rosa sat so MLK could walk... and her sitting started the struggle, not ended!
We may not always agree - but if we work on working together on those things we DO agree on, so very, very much can be done to make this a better world for 6-6 and Manda and all the other kids out there that we are going to hand over the world to in a few years.
Amen Sister..amen...We have Won One Battle...but there are more to come...but as long as we can work together...we can face the future....to hand over to our Youth...so so true...And we may not always agree, but as long as we alway keep talking...that is my goal...always....
Thom::
Thank you for what you said....now we move forward and work together to see what we do to dig out of this mess....together...as a nation...again...
Keep up all of your hard work...we can do this together...
