Then It was Tuesday.....Coffee with Whipped Cream,New Music and some thoughts....

Off work today....trying to get caught up on Internet News. I stumbled onto some Health Articles I wanted to share ( they are down below). And then the Vote happened today regarding Joe Lieberman....I will be chewing on that for awhile....I am working on a post about Prop 8, which is still boggling my brain. ( HOW can a State,a Progressive State try to hurt people that Love each other ?And overturn a Law that finally valued and honored their love?....I really don't understand...but my post on that will be up later in the week). I will be sitting here working on Silent Fallout & Watery Lies drinking hot coffee with Whipped Cream and Cinnamon watching the snow....stop by if you like...what's on your mind ?

About the "Musical Interlude Section" on the Sidebar....Click the Photo and I will put soothing beautiful music there....and I will be changing it every few days....as a treat for you.....enjoy...( I posted this at 2PM...but through the Eve there were some Great Breaking News stories added....scroll down...)

This is a new band called "Strive", they sent me their videos, and they have an amazing sound, definently something Special... Give them a Listen....check them out on Youtube, another song is "Smallest Things" which I linked in the Title, but for starters " Fire" which is also the name of their new album....

Some afternoon Wisdom from Nelson Mandela.....:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

funny how, in this American politics of having to tow the party line they did not drop that line on Lieberman.. that it even should come to a vote..how can you stay in someone's house when you're obviously not welcome? (and know that you misbehaved?)

tssss..

I wonder if the dems have something up their sleeves-- OK Joe you can chair Homeland Security.....they just failed to tell him that will be *dog catcher* under the Obama administration????

Breaking news! Ted Stevens lost Alaska. The Dems have 58 seats now?

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!

Love Coffee lady..... mmmmm

Yahooooo 58 folks..wow...amazing...

yeah...I think that really it is about Gitmo- I think if he fights Obama- they will send him packing...and it will show once and for all that he has a DEM alliance problem...

I really like the photo, the orange-haired coffee drinker! She looks like she has a lot on her mind. And you've added a musical interlude. Cool. I'll check it out.

OMG, I think Fran may be on to something ... all they have to do is change the name of Homeland Security to something else (afterall it's a new thing anyway, just added after 9/11). Change the name & voila! no committee for Joe to chair!

I can think of a good place for Joe, but I'm too nice to suggest it publically.

Enigma, can you stop by my place and pick something up?

The "Mandela" quote is actually by Marianne Williamson ( http://skdesigns.com/internet/articles/quotes/williamson/our_deepest_fear/ ) though it certainly expresses Mandella's thought. I first heard it spoken a few years back on a dark rainy afternoon in the blues tent at New Orleans Jazz Fest by blues/folk singer Goddess Odetta. It truly expresses to me the reality of what we need to be about... and to that end, I would disagree on Joe and the Dems. Now is not the time for retribution but for forgiveness, subtlety and strength (can YOU say 60 votes???)

Thom:::
I am not sure about the quote..because I know pieces of it are mandela...but I also saw another page that she used it in her book...so either way...maybe it is a mesh of the two of them...( I did spend alot of time researching this issue the other night,....I wish I still had her book- because I do remember it being on a page at the beginnning of a chapter...)

About Joe L...I am talking about Retribution...and Joe was awful, unprofessional on the trail, how bad was he- watch the RNC Convention speech on youtube....BUT....it is about Lessons Learned and badly Broken Promises....In South Africa after aparthied ended..there was Forgiveness, but there was a path to get there, including accountability,. asking Forgiveness, and also publicly admitting one;s transgression, and also assurances that the pattern would be broken , BEFORE forgiveness was given....it was an exchange of accountability....and a form of justice....

It is time for the DEMS to find some backbone....no more "secret" Boys Club votes, and back room deals....and No more letting the Repugs bad mouth OUR new President at all...Unity can only happen when everyone starts acting like adults...with appropriate behavior..

thanks to Joey, and McCain and Palin trashtalking Obama and comparing him to a terra-rist...this increased his threats and security issues tenfold since the RNC convention.....it's time for Some to be held responsible for their WORDS...and people that speak in such a way , should lose their leadership roles- as that is NOT sound appropriate Leadership....

It is one thing to be complacent, or appear to condone such reckless behavior (esp after joe promised he would NOT do such a thing a year ago- he broke his own promise)....It is not too much to ask that Some Real Leadership and Backbone be shown....

( in actuality...any of the RNC foortage is staggering in it's seething level of hate mongering....it was like watching a Clan meeting- and Rudy and Joe were amoung the worst..)

and on another note...
Dems might hit 60.....by December...58 is pretty good....but the counting continues....

oooops Thom...
I meant to say I am NOT talking about retribution...oooops...I slipped up....oh well...you will figure out....good to see you anyways

I agree with you, Enigma. There is moving on but there has to be deterrents and accountability. Joe got a slap on the wrist. NOT acceptable.

If Obama wants to be seen as tough but fair, he should hold folks accountable for being a traitor to the party, as should all the dems in power.

I really love that quote as well. It's amazing. I read it earlier, and since have gone to the store & back, and am still pondering it. Thanks.

Never mind Lieberman, Maybe that was a screwup on Obama's part, but the BIG screwup is with Hillary. Is he gonna offer her the job or not? Obama is screwing over Hillary BIGTIME with this Lucy and the Football thing.

What does Hillary have to do to get treated with dignity and respect? She did everything she could to help get Obama into the Oval Office and now he is dissing her. Is is because she is just a woman?

I am surprised. Obama ran a smooth campaign and now no-drama Obama is dragging this job offer on and on and on. Why didn't he do this all in private? Offer her the job or not. Don't humiliate her in public like this.

This treatiment is making a lot of women really pissed off. It is sure pissing me off and I am not a woman. Barf.

I am not sure what is going in with the Hillary offer...I think Several people are being vetted and looked at for the postion- and I do think Hillary leaked it to Andrea Mitchell ( just like during the campaign...)I don't think he is "dissing " her, I think several people are being looked at- BUT Bill has some very interesting laisons and connections and donations from foreign countries and entities that need to be examined....

( I would bet money that Richardson is also being looked at...)

time will tell WHO is offered what....as a woman though- I don't think she is being disrespected...at all...I think that she is being considered is flattering...to be honest I am bummed she does not want to be a Main Strong force in the Senate....with Teddy's situation...I was hoping she would realize what a force she could now be....esp. about women's issues and healthcare....so again women will be left without a strong voice....

NEWSGUY said...

If she leaked it, OK. But I don't know that for a solid fact. What's the source on that?

If his people leaked it, it is still Lucy and the Football and I think it IS disrespect especially after all she did in late summer to get him elected.

Bill Richardson? Barf. I don't want to have to look at that trailer trash goatee thing he's got going on his face for the next four years.

Newsguy..
boy you are in quite a mood....hmmm...about Richardson..you are judging him because of facial hair ? wow...btw he shaved it off...as a gov of a west state...the beard made sense....but anyways...he has foreign and diplomacy experience and energy experience- both valuable in these times...and he too campaigned hard for Obama...

No one is disrespecting Hill- I am not sure where you are getting that- her appointment would present problems- period- that is all many people are saying- policial, diplomacy people, state people and journalists.....about the leak-sorry but during the campaign - her campaign on multiple occasions leaked stuff to her good friend- Andrea Mitchell....

It's true that she did campaign hard for Obama after she finally conceded- but that in no way means that she deserves or has earned a "reward"....especially after she ran a pretty horrible campaign- as a woman I say that I was embarrassed and horrifed by much of her antics and Bill's...sorry...but in my hood- there are still alot of hard feelings..and giving her a plum job...that ain't going to start the healing....if she stayed and worked hard in the Senate...for women and health and real people issues- THAT would start the Real healing....and forgiveness..sorry...
but that is the truth of it.....as a woman and according to alot of my neighbors....

putting her in pearls and sending her on a plane abroad- and praying that she is representing Obama.....not so much....

I am personally sick of all the Clinton Drama AGAIN....and to be honest- I think that Bills Foundationa and Fund raising presents serious conflicts of interests and many unsavory challenges and problems- that is the reality of it....

again...those are just my opinions.....

we all can see this 15 different ways.....by January it should all be resolved....Obama will carefully pick HIS team..it is his Presidency...not the Clintons.....

Change has come....so we shall see where all of this goes and what happens...either way...better than having McCain't and Palin sitting at 1600....
;-)
