Photos of Anthony Sowell : Please do look at these and see if you recognize him from Scrapping Expeditions,or if live on East Side

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He was known to go scrapping looking for metals, if anyone recognizes him please contact police. The real concern is that did he put bodies in other places, if so he would know where empty houses are. If you live in a neighborhood that has empty houses and Strange Odors, I encourage you to contact the Police.
I am sorry to hear this story. Our investigators in Alaska are pretty bad, partly due to less people which means less money for training and equipment. It sounds like several agencies failed there on several levels. The probabtion departments everywhere should spend less time on low level crimes like pot smoking and check on sexual offenders often. Certainly when people complained of strange goings on like bad smells they should have checked his home in detail. Many of them are curable, but some will always reoffend.
I use to work with sexual offenders in Washington, the high risks are housed in a facility on an island even though they are not in prison. It is to protect the public. Most sexual offenders are not much of a danger, but psychologists can identify the dangerous ones, by their history.
I have an interest in serial killers as I grew up during the Zodiac Killers era in the bay area in CA and lived in WA during the
Green River killer. My interest is in how they got to be the way they are. The strongest marker so far is harming animals as children.
thanks Celia..
I too lived in Washington...maybe our pathes crossed at some point...
the Investigators seem to be working hard..but alot of links failed to protect ppl in this situation...sadly...
I know AK has problems...many...but that is how it is... some states seem to be more prone to internal problems..it has to do with leadership doesn't it ?
Yes, the leadership in AK has an agenda that has nothing to do with having a functioning government. We have a few legislators trying to change that, but the old corrupt ones are still around(owned by oil companies). We have a case in Anchorage of a serial rapist right now who was not caught due to law enforcement not paying attention. The really bad thing is he worked at a hospital and was a known rapist. That means the hosptial did no background check on him. Some crimes are allowed in hospitals, but crimes against person are not. This story in Cleveland makes me shudder because I know I was ignored here in AK when I reported crimes. I have often wondered how many murders go undiscovered because there is so much wilderness in which to discard the bodies.
This story in Cleveland is really about how important it is for law enforcement to work with the people in the communities and how important it is to have officers who know the communities they work in. It also brings to light that once again no one cared when poor women disapeared.
wow..
I think I offended you...in no way was offense meant...
When leadership and even middle management level Authority and govt is tainted with corruption it effects all levels of the working govt, and it is not longer working with , for or by the people....AK is one state that has wrestled with this issue..as Washington State, and yes, Ohio ( and for sure there are others...I was trying to stay with states you know)...
Here the Police have a poor working relationship with the citizens and with the govt, and this shows how bad the communication breakdown really is...
on all levels...sadly...
again no offense meant....
I was merely noting a common thread...
at this point after many years of Bush's blundering of our economy and govt all levels of govt have damage....it is not just a money issue, there is also a lack of moral judgement and leadership and decision making skills...
On another level...
As someone who has only lived here for 3 years, I am concerned about what I am seeing in my community and happening to people I view as my neighbors...
So these posts about the Cleveland Killer are written from a place of concern...worry...about how women and families are treated...and to be clear..we don't know for sure they were all poor- I think many were...But I also have had some concerns about how poorer people and women are treated and ignored here by Police...
I am sorry about your personal experiences in AK- I have no idea if those are similiar or not to what is going on here.
The main thing is that Law Enforcement, Police at some point have to view themselves as there to "Serve" and that is not always the same as seeing themselves as "Enforcers", if they see themselves as "Enforcers" they may not see themselves as there to Listen...or protect...
we shall see what happens...
either way, now finally, the case has national attention and FEDS are here to really try to assess what happnened and investigate..and hopefully this town will start to get some answers...
