So how or what did lieberman sell his soul for to get his vote? I haven't been able to find out.
I still think MOveOn is right, this is not a good start.
One of the most exciting CSPAN sessions in a while :D
Excellent article by Vickie Kennedy.
Still, I can't help but notice the GOP talking points seem to be on another planet.
I'm not a Harry Reid fan, but I thought the point he made, that in the 10 minutes he spoke 2 Americans will have died for lack of healthcare.
The point that floors me the most is the gist that health care is an entitlement.
Excuse me, but the government takes $$$ out of our paychecks from the moment we work. It's OUR money & it is not an outrage that would should expect it to be spent on something so practical & necessary as healthcare. The GOP brings up the money.... and the only "moral issue" on that side of the aisle is the newfound fiscal responsibility.
It was absent for 8 years when they racked up the $11 trillion dollar debt. They have the nerve to bring up generational theft?
That ship has already sailed.
One Senator told a story of a child dying because he could not get dental care. the problem abscessed & the infection spread to the brain, and caused death.
Right here in the USA.
Hey there........although I have a job, and making less than I ever did before moving out here. Full time week now is 32 hrs. We are not working from tomorrow until the 5th of Jan.
Being forced to purchase health care, with what we get, barely able to pay mortgage & insurance, car ins. As a friend in Ma has told me, he's making little too and can't afford what they "have to pay".......looks like a sell out and am sorry to see the effect it will have, "just to get it passed" ; (
Hope all is well with you and the son!!!!!

you all are wonderful...
many many hugs....
The Senate bill is a wealthcare bill for the HMOs and health insurers. I will vote against Gillibrant and Schumer this year because they voted for it and did nothing to support single payer from the beginning.
