Dear Mr.Bush 9.4.07
[click the Title: One Tin Soldier *Warning* Very Graphic. Please if you are VET, or have family in Iraq, or if you have PTSD do NOT watch. Please do also read the Post Below about Abandonment of Our Country...not just a cat.The two posts are meant to be read together. And yes, this letter is for We The People, not the Illiterate King.]
Dear Mr.Bush,
I watched you drop in to Iraq for a little visit this weekend. You went to a base and made others come to you, and you snuck there in the Dead of Night. We know you went to get more photos for your Legacy Album. You did not walk around the burned bombed out streets of rubble. You made the Troops stand outside in 110 degree heat , and they stood and waited while you got a fresh shirt and adjusted your make up. You made them stand and wait in the Heat and Grime and Sand. You treated them as if they were merely Toy Soldiers in Your Photo Op.
They are Not your Toy Soldiers, they are Mothers, Daughters, and Sons, and Fathers, and Brothers and Sisters. They are there occupying a land where they are not loved or respected. I looked at them wiping sweat from their brows and I could not help but wonder WHO will not be there in That Picture tomorrow or the next week. And Mr.Bush did you think about that ? We learned that you "cry a lot "according to your latest "Book". You do not know what tears are until you have held a greiving mother in your arms and felt the heaviness of her tears. You do not know what tears are until you have had to tell a grieving Child that Their Daddy is not coming home. You do not know what tears are until you have seen a Mother handed that Folded Flag by a freshly dug grave. You do not know Tears until you have seen a Father dust fresh snow off His Son's Grave.
Mr.Bush we are Telling you to Bring the Troops Home From Iraq NOW. We are telling you it is Over. The Damage is Done. It can Not be Undone. We are telling you NO, you may not treat them Like Toy Soldiers ANYMORE. We are telling you that YOU have Failed the People of Iraq, the People of the Middle East, and the People of the World, and the People of the US. It is Time to end your Delusional Quests and bring OUR People Home, for the sake of the Troops and the Iraqis.

I forgot the Art credits...Painting is called Toygun Dreamer by Clement Micarelli, available on Art.com....thanks...
I KNOW that Keith did it better tonight- but I started this on Sunday- I was so mad at him for making those poor troops stand in the heat and wait for him...sooooo rude....and they didn't even get served Plastic Turkey this time.....Fuck'him..
Great post, but you're beating a dead horse if you think Bush will learn anything. The Iraqi war is just a neat video game and these are indeed his personal toy soldiers that he can pick up and set down anywhere he pleases. Don't try to tell him different or he'll thrust out his lower lip and stamp his foot.
Who Hijacked Our Country
Good post.
Funny while those from afar think the words in this post, Bush is thinking this is going to look good for my push for more war.
Sad and pathetic.
I've been one of those men standing in the desert waiting for the dog & pony show to be over so that I can return to being shot at.
Love the war, hate the warrior.
For a man who has never attended a single soldier's funeral - the first president in the history of this country to not attend a military burial - he's loving the uniformed photo ops. He's a disgrace.
Damn Enigma you seem to be pulling these songs from my own personal music collection. I have much love for the protest songs of the sixties and this is one of my favorites.
The graphic images from the video will stay with me all day today. But then they should stay with ALL Americans EVERYDAY, because this is being done in OUR NAME. We should not be allowed to pretend that it is not any fault of our own.
Bush owns this war, but so do we.
Enigma, do you have a candidate that you back? I would like to see some of my American blogging friends pick their candidate, and sell him (her?). I told TomCat that as well. Bashing Bush is preaching to the choir. You guys have two years to get it right. You have very weak Democratic candidates, and unfortunately, very strong Republican candidates. You can't let the Republicans win again.
You guys need to start selling your Democratic candidates. There is so much bickering going on between the Democratic candidates, and even pro-Democrats are nit-picking one candidate or the other. This is what always happens in the States, and the Republicans sneak through because of it.
You folks need to pick a candidate, then sell him like there is no tomorrow. All the anti-Bush political blogs need to stop bashing Bush, and start being pro-active about getting a Democrat elected as the next president.
The world hates Bush. We're not reading anything new on any of the anti-Bush blogs.
Sell us a Democrat. You just might save the world, (and I'm not kidding....)
Cheers,
Josie
P.S. I hope you're not offended by my opinion from here across the border in Canada. It's just how we see it.
Josie: No offense taken friend...not at all. This letter above- I post them sympbollically- I write a Dear Bush about Once a month- but the messege is not just for Bush- it is a messege to Our Elected and those Running- that we are all Watching...We the People need to somehow stop this Criminal Regime, the other big concern here is that Bush will manuver to Control ANother Election and or impose martial law so we can not Get Change....Bush has been peddling Iran pretty hard- and there is concern here that he will do something So stupid and dangerous and we will never get a chance to save this country and the world from more damage....We are living in a Police State in many ways- and 2000 and 2004 Elections WERE STOLEN-so we can NOT just depend on Elections to save all of us....We need Change NOW......BTW it is mostly the Friiggin' Media that sets up the Nitpicking- most Americans are trying to educate the Running on the Issues- ALL of them,.....The Goal is the get ALL the Candiates to Work hard to Listen to The People and work hard to get the Issues ALL on the Table- esp Iraq....
*** Also ALL the Candiates- DEMS- read the Blogs and have staffers read the blogs- (I get letters from the staffers, because of my blog)....so Blogs are Critical- we found that out in 2006- at that point my blog tripled it's readership...so it pays to keep Blogging the Truth- even in letters like this...
Gryphen: we all need to work to bring Change- we have to....this Video, this Song is from the vietnam era- as an 11year old I used to call and request it the last 2 years of the vietnam war- every night- and the DJ would play it...always....We Must END this...and get them home...we are not helping anyone....This post and the one below are about We as the People have been Abandoned- but we must get our Country Back...for the sake of Everyone...
CV: yes, you nailed it as always...
Larry: we need to stop him.,...and get NEW Leadership....NOW...
Tom": I write these not for the Illiterate Ignorant King- but for us and for the elected and the MSM, that WE THE PEOPLE MUST end this criminal Regime...I was so angry watchin that press conf there that I had to write the Truth...Writing the truth is my way of Fighting back....Our Voices are needed to End this Criminal Regime...
E4E, you have a way of touching my soul. I'm with you on your analysis.
Excellent letter. Made me so mad too. I'd like him to stay there and fight his damn war w/o a protective bubble like the soldiers he made stand and wait for him.
E4e, while have to agree that Keith did it better, it was by a VERY small margin.
Josie focusing on Bush may keep Democrats from their favorite sport, ripping each other to shreds. Concentrating on Bush and the GOP now leaves us free to support whichever Democrat comes out on top. I have picked a Democrat. Edwards. You just don't like him. :-)
Very Good Enigma
The damage is done but there is sadly a lot more to come. It's funny but my son that was in Iraq flying support came home yesterday and he seems to have been reborn. The freedom, fresh air, and green grass, have new meaning as it would to an infant. I don't think he will ever take anything for granted again.
enigma...
Here's an interesting story that says a lot about the illegal activities of Der Fuhrer Bush's regime.
Conscience of a Conservative.
God Bless.
I almost fogot! If you want to try and get that heard in the Repub Debate tonight I sent my questions though I don't expect them to be aired. I have the E in my story if you want to add your 2 cents.
enigma...
Here's another link about going to War with Iran.
We Are Going To Hit Iran. Bigtime.
Now this is as scary as the Decider flying Nukes across the country to New Orleans.
God Bless.
Great post Enigma, I loved the letter, you said what others and myself included, would love to say to this man.
I know that at some point he should read a Military manual or a history book. Just maybe he would understand what this country and others have gone through and what Americans have been through as well.
enigma...
Here's another link for you to check out.
Adolph Bush's 9\11.
Be sure to read the closed caption.
God Bless.
Here is a good article titled Post Mortem America that gives an excellent summary of what Bush has done.
Post Mortem America
Good heartfelt piece, Nurse. Now if only someone would tie Bush to a post and read it to him. Not that it would make any difference in his evil little raisin brain. Criminal psychopaths don't actually have consciences or feelings. Or empathy for the soldiers.
Did you hear what Shrub told John Howard, the Prime Minister of Down Under when he arrived there? He said, (of Iraq) "We're kicking ass."
I am not making this up.
BTW, The Baghdad Burning lady is back after many months. She escaped to Syria with some of her family. riverbend.blogspot.com
Hey, Enigma, we've had the Commander in Chief of the Galaxies pouncing around in Sydney. Aren't we lucky? He's been lavishing praise on Howard, his sycophantic mate. It was sickening to watch.
I've got the World Utopian Movement up and running on my blog. Have a look and see what you think. All suggestions are welcome.
P.S. I wonder how I'm going to get 70 million names on my sidebar! WOW.
Finally someone is protecting out rights:
AP:
A federal judge struck down a key part of the USA Patriot Act on Thursday in a ruling that defended the need for judicial oversight of laws and bashed Congress for passing a law that makes possible "far-reaching invasions of liberty."
U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero immediately stayed the effect of his ruling, allowing the government time to appeal. Justice Department spokesman Dean Boyd said: "We are reviewing the decision and considering our options at this time."
The ruling handed the American Civil Liberties Union a major victory in its challenge of the post-Sept. 11 law that gave broader investigative powers to law enforcement.
The ACLU had challenged the law on behalf of an Internet service provider, complaining that the law allowed the FBI to demand records without the kind of court supervision required for other government searches. Under the law, investigators can issue so-called national security letters to entities like Internet service providers and phone companies and demand customers' phone and Internet records.
In his ruling, Marrero said much more was at stake than questions about the national security letters.
He said Congress, in the original USA Patriot Act and less so in a 2005 revision, had essentially tried to legislate how the judiciary must review challenges to the law. If done to other bills, they ultimately could all "be styled to make the validation of the law foolproof."
Noting that the courthouse where he resides is several blocks from the fallen World Trade Center, the judge said the Constitution was designed so that the dangers of any given moment could never justify discarding fundamental individual liberties.
He said when "the judiciary lowers its guard on the Constitution, it opens the door to far-reaching invasions of liberty."
Regarding the national security letters, he said, Congress crossed its boundaries so dramatically that to let the law stand might turn an innocent legislative step into "the legislative equivalent of breaking and entering, with an ominous free pass to the hijacking of constitutional values."
He said the ruling does not mean the FBI must obtain the approval of a court prior to ordering records be turned over, but rather must justify to a court the need for secrecy if the orders will last longer than a reasonable and brief period of time.
A March government report showed that the FBI issued about 8,500 national security letter, or NSL, requests in 2000, the year prior to passage of the USA Patriot Act. By 2003, the number of requests had risen to 39,000 and to 56,000 in 2004 before falling to 47,000 in 2005. The overwhelming majority of the requests sought telephone billing records information, telephone or e-mail subscriber information or electronic communication transactional records.
The judge said that through the NSLs, the government can unmask the identity of Internet users engaged in anonymous speech in online discussions, can obtain an itemized list of all e-mails sent and received by someone and can then seek information on those communicating with the individual.
"It may even be able to discover the web sites an individual has visited and queries submitted to search engines," the judge said.
Marrero's lengthy judicial opinion, akin to an eighth-grade civics lesson, described why the framers of the Constitution created three separate but equal branches of government and delegated to the judiciary to say what the law is and to protect the Constitution and the rights it gives citizens.
