Friday Gifts 9.28.07

**************************************
Friday Thoughts:
"The heart's affections are divided like the branches of the cedar tree:
if the tree loses one strong branch,it will suffer but it does not die.
It will pour all it's vitality into the next branch so that it will grow and
fill the empty space."
Kahlil Gibran 1882-1931

"To put the world in order we must first put the nation in order.
To put the nation in order we must first put the family in order.
To put the family in order we must first cultivate out personal life.
To cultivate our personal life,we must set Our Hearts right."
Confusius c.550-478 BC.

My apologies that the Friday Gifts are late. It was a long day,I had work to do, I did not get here until late. I am still reeling from watching the heartbreaking events that are happening in Burma. I will light nine sticks of incense and say prayers for the monks.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments below about the Blogger Alliance , it is still in Embryo, email me offline enigma4ever@earthlink.net. , the discussion is still open and ongoing.

New posts will be up this weekend. Please do read the Fireman story below- and feel free to try the Chili receipe, it is perfect for a fall weekend.
Namaste.

Okay I am blogging,....and it is 5:10am..and WHY am I blogging???cuz my idiot neighbor is yes, CHAINSAWING AT THIS TIME OF NIGHT...AND HAS BEEN OFF AND ON SINCE 3AM.....I hope there is indeed a Hell for people that do things like this .....my head is killing......I would say something...but see I don't think it is a good idea to voice opinions to a wacko with a chainsaw at 3am.....but now 2 hours later...I am hoping that he trips..or cuts the cord...oh, wait...there is probally no cord....that is the hedge trimmer that has cord....so what I really wonder is- am I the only one he woke up ????...

Oh enigma, sorry about your neighbor but, obviously, it's urgent he chainsaw at that ungodly hour. Isn't that the accepted time to chainsaw things one really needs to get rid of, like dead bodies?

(At least I hope they're dead.)

sigh...I didn't hear any screaming..but 6-6 and I did discuss that ...you are so funny...even at ungodly hours...

Your chainsawing neighbor just reminded me of the "woodchipper" in one of the last scenes of "Fargo", that's all.

you sure it's a chainsaw and not, say, a guy fixing his motorcycle indoors in the wee hours? I once had a neighbor doing this, all.night.long. He would clang/bang around, tweak something, and then VARROOOOM!!! the big bad boy would be punched up to maximum noise level & wound out forever. Naturally, all the doors & windows had to be open during these after-midnight-repair-jobs "to let out the fumes" (as he put it) & (to totally kill any chance of sleep for his neighbors). He changed oil on his living rm carpet & his walls were black with exhaust stains. During the day, his house was like a morgue.

Years later, I heard Tom Waits' "What's He Building?" song on Mule Variations album & thought, hmmm, maybe we shared a neighbor at one point (like when we both lived in san diego). Perhaps the same guy has now moved into your neighborhood! Hope he finished up last night, so you can get some sleep tonight. ~~ D.K.
