Hope....

[Click the Title for Music: Enigma : "Return to Innocence"]
{{ Reposted for labor Day from Saturday , because it was a good discussion....New posts below}}
I was visiting another blog this week, and we got into a rather involved discussion about Mother Theresa, and her spiritual agony. And why she was so challenged and was it a matter of her Faith. The discussion was very interesting, because it made me realize that Faith and what it means has been sullied by this Regime and it's pious ways. But it also made me stop and think , "Do I have Faith." And slowly after reading many responses ( over at Josie's All in Good Time). I realized that for me the discussion made me think long and hard about HOPE.

I have faith in Everyday People, People that care and speak the Truth. I no longer have "Faith" in any of our leaders or our government, or Journalists who are suposed to speak the Truth. So for me Truth is very much attached to my ability to have Faith. Faith of a higher order is another matter....

Pandora was created by Zeus, she was suposed to be a curse upon those around her.In some stories she is referred to as Anesidora, which means "All gifted". Yet the other gods gave her Gifts and she grew stronger and wiser. She was not suposed to open the box, her dowry box that came with her marriage. She did, and out flew the Evils of Mankind, Greed,Vanity, Slander, Lies, and she looked a little closer and there in the bottem was Hope. Some say that there was Insight and Foreknowledge that came with the Hope. After experiencing the Evils, I wonder , did she have Hope because she had experienced the Evils, she had Confronted the Evils, so did that give her Insight and Wisdom ?

Is it possible to have Any Hope after all that we have been through, all the lies, and the deception, and manipulation.
After all that we have been through and Witnessed in the past 6 years, do you feel you have Wisdom, Do you feel you have Insight, Do you have Hope ?

thanks for the music - it touched my heart tonight...as i'm again mourning - something that comes and goes for me lately

and it's strange as i've been seeing a grief counselor and i told her just wednesday that this experience of pain, of death has made me cherish and love people more

i do believe that we would not truly know hope without first experiencing true loss -- there's something about coming out the other side of that incredible pain in your soul to see light again -- and dream of hope

we are all now wiser - our eyes opened never to be closed again...have you heard of 'the 11th hour' documentary? google it - amazing - now, not only are people talking about what's wrong but they are talking about the solutions

hugs my friend...

It's interesting that you posted this today. I put up a detailed thread about the path that lead us to this place over the course of the past 15 years.
The only hope I see in our future, unfortunately, is on the back side of a very dark period for this country. With the Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act, I feel this administration has prepared for the inevitable awakening of the people in a rather disturbing way. It won't be enough to expose this situation anymore. But at least it's a start.
Have a look at the post if you get a chance. I would be very interested in your take on it.
I am also going to check out the documentary that azgoddess mentioned. It sounds interesting.

Sometimes I have hope. Sometimes I have faith that there still is hope.

At other times I'm not sure if I still have any faith or hope.

It is a constant struggle to hold on and I like so many others have to face this dilemma every day.

God Bless.

Anony: I think for many it is a constant struggle...and that is has been harder these past few years...I like what you said about faith in hope...

Wilyman: I will check your post, as I am not familiar with you..so I will give it a read...but I think we need to recognize that we are in Dark Times, I think most of us know that..and that we need to get out, or through this....we must..and it will require some hope to move forward and get through this...we have to have hope that we can get our country...back again...

AZ; you are right that to experience hope, often there is such loss and pain to get to the other side...I am so sorry that you are still grieving..but that is also a sign of such a wonderul friend....Many hugs friend...

One must not let one's disgust at how things are overwhelm one's responsibilities to the society.

We must keep putting out the news, because the Chimpromised MSM isn't going to do it. We must connect, correlate, publicize. There is so much yet to be done, and it is on us as citizens to do it. It is OUR responsibility to inform, and to be informed. No democratic institutions ever survived when the populace started trusting Government to take care of everything.

Jolly Roger: what you just wrote above shows great insight....and wisdom....Now I don;'t know if that means you have hope...but I think it does...and I don't care what any pundithead says- I KNOW that WE- yes, US Bloggers were very much responsible for educating and informing for the 2006 elections...it was not just Youtube that made the difference- and YouTube without Bloggers would not have worked....we need to get our country back...I agree with what you wrote above...excellent.

What a beautiful video. Yes, I think above all else, you must keep hope. Faith can be fleeting, and sometimes one can't grasp it at all, but hope belongs to everyone. Hope springs eternal. But, like luck, I think people have to help it along.

Good luck to you guys. The world is watching/

Wisdom -- naah, I can't outthink the bastards in charge, I wish I could. Insight -- yeah, sometimes, even if I don't like what I see. Hope -- always & forever. It'll take a lot more than 8-yrs to lose my hope.

I like the Pandora reminder. I think Hope was at the bottom of the box because it was a more substantial gift than the evils which flew out so quickly. The evils were all lighter than air for easy dispersal. They have waxed & waned over time. Hope has weight, it has power & it is always there even if sometimes hidden in bottom of a box. ~~ D.K.

My Dear enigma
Yes it is possible to have hope today. Faith and Hope go habd in hand. Always have faith and hope. We will perseviere. I have zero faith in our so called leaders but all; the faith in the woorld in average Americans and do not have to Hope they will do the right thing.
They are the ones that have always come through and they will this time too. It's funny but we must have been of the same wave length yesterday because as you know this goes hand in hand with what I was saying.

No matter how bad things may be if we give up hope, we are totally defeated as the enemy within us would like.

We can never give up the fight.

Hope is a great thing. Some times, it seems like all we have. But hope is alive, and should be embraced.

I am fortunate to work around the future of our country, and our world, everyday.

Do I have hope? Yes, because I work with children who are as yet untouched by avarice, or hate, or bigotry, and that allows me to hope for a better tomorrow. If you could spend some time with them I know you would feel the same sense of hope that I enjoy.

And I may even have some ability to influence what kind of an adult they may become. Oh, I know I can't make them all free thinking liberals who put the needs of the less fortunate before their own, but I can model compassion, and patience, and acceptance, and that just may stay with them when it is their turn to lead our country.

And what is even more hopeful is that there are thousands just like myself doing the very same thing.

All we have to do is hold this thing together until we can let the next team take the field. And lets make sure they still have a field to take shall we?

Thanks, E4E. I haven't heard the story of Pandora since I was in a rather hazy way, back in HS mythology class. Your telling is concisely inspiring!

I almost always have hope. The personal variety does elude me all too often, though of late, that's improved dramatically. I must confess, it does occasionally take a dash of faith, as well. Wish I could say the same for my country, but for that I've found that Faith is far too foolish and risky an indulgence. Posts such as this one make it readily apparent.

Hmmm... I guess that's why I love this part of the blogosphere so very much; you (all) remind me that there is always cause for hope. And I need no faith at all to understand how very true that really is.

enigma that was beautiful! It might be the indian in me but Innocence is a frame of mind and yours for life if you desire and you are lucky.

Knowledge and hope seem to be mutually exclusive. Still, if thee is no hope thee are no real reasons to wake up in the morning.

Josie is right. Sometimes "faith" can be misconstrued. Hope is a belief in the human process.

Even I still have hope. Hope that the world beyond our borders will know that what has happened was not because of its citizens going along with it. A very great many of us have steadfastly bucked the system put in place by the Bushies...I just hope others realize that and don't condemn us all.

Sunday Night 10:30 Catch Up at the Enigma Cafe:

Sumo; I too hope others KNOW that we have been trying all along to reclaim our Hijacked country...and how much we hate this regime...Good on you for still having Hope...

Chani: I understand what you say, and sadly Hope is very closely tied to the Whole process at this point...and I can not help but feel that they are so intrinsically tied to each other....

Cartlege: So true...and hope is needed to wake up in the morning- even with the knowledge that the Helm is still in Trouble...

Patriot: it is funny , I went to find Music /video to go with this post and that was the only one that felt right....esp the idea that we can Return to it...Innocence I also believe is about holding on to Hope...thanks for being here...

Micheal: I blogged about this a few weeks ago. but the French Resistance had entire branch that was the Spiritual Resistance Movement- their whole mission was to keep people Spiritually resisting the Nazis....that is what I am trying with all of my might to do, to feel souls and keep their spirits Alive and fighting and Intact....not broken by the Buscho Regime...This little blog is indeed my way of fighting back....

More to come...Cat downstairs crying...be right back....

11PM.Sunday....Kitty is okay now, and the screen door is shut....Back to the conversation here...fresh cup of tea...sigh...

Josie: Thank you...hope is still here...and we need more.....and yes, we do know the world is watching.

DK: hope is so important esp when fighting evil...and SOB:s...and I think you are right Hope is more powerful...even if it is found in the bottem of the box...we just have to remember it is there...

Patriot: thank you for thinking on it too..and yes, I do know that it has been on your mind...keep the faith- or keep hope alive...it is an important part of fighting back...esp after all the fear and terramongering...

Donnie: thank you for saying that- you are right we should embrace it- no matter what...

heriess child: yes, the song and the picture all kind of work together...and hope is in all of it- the song and the picture- I mean if you look at her- she does not look overwhelmed or defeated...

Gryphen: I have blogged on this quite a few times...I do very much believe that Children are our Greatest Resource....I love that you are trying to nurture them and modeling acceptance and compassion for them...I know they are in your capable hands and helping them grow to be into caring souls....that matters...and yes, that gives me Hope....

Larry: we can never ever give up the fight...ever...

Thank you all, you are all such good souls ...I am so grateful everyday that Blogland led me to each of you....and yes, knowing you are out there fighting the same fight next to me, and that you are people of spirit and intergrity...that gives me so much hope....really....
namaste.

I don't know what hope I have, but I must have some ... Please STOP your country from attacking INNOCENT countries like mine! Their propaganda machinery has begun distorting truth ... DO SOMETHING! Please!

That's perfect . . . the music and the retelling of Pandora's tale. I'd forgotten it, to tell the truth and bringing it back really shows the relevance of the old stories to today's folly.

Everything's going to hell and where's our Prez-nut? On a little surprise visit to his favorite folly - the pandora's box of mid-east destruction, the release of all chaos to an entire region of the globe with millions of people's lives destroyed . . . all because he can't fix the problems at home, so he distracts us with the prettiness of destruction.

At least that's my reading of it.

Gryphen said...

Hey Naj, we are trying!

We are posting about the build up to the war in Iran, and I personally have written to several Senators (excluding my own, because Ted Stevens is an asshole)and Congressmen about this subject and begged them to stop the invasion from happening.

But this President is COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE to anybody! He does not realize that he is just a President, he thinks he is the damn emperor! Congress is much too timid to do a damn thing to stop him and our military refuses to deny him access to the tools that he needs to expand the war in the middle east.

All I can say to you, and your country men, is how incredibly sorry I am. I did not vote for him, nor did most of the kind people that you will find here, but he does represent us and we are ashamed of that.

I don't know what any of us can do at this point to put a stop to this madman. All I can think to do is try and get a President elected the next time who can begin to heal the deep wounds that this one has caused around the world. And to say, again, how sorry we are that George W. Bush was ever allowed to be in charge of our once great country.

Enigma I am sorry I know this was a comment section about hope, but I just cannot allow Naj to think that George Bush represents us. He does NOT represent me. And he never did.

Naj said...

I KNOW he doesn't represent you.

But it is not just him! It is the whole system. It's teh whole system or why would teh congress be timid?

What will happen to Americans if they walk out on Sept 11 from their jobs and say NO MORE IN OUR NAME?

This is time for ACTION!

ACTION!

Sorry I am just too upset ...

Thanks for all your doings ...

NAJ: Hey there please also email me offline, enigma4ever@earthlink.net, I have been to your blog- and you are not being supported in your angst on your own blog- you are being Trolled- and I think you know that , and it is very upsetting, and not right. Your post about Iran and the threat issues is very well written and researched, and I wrote about Hope because in these Dark Times, it feels often for ALL of us like we are yelling down a Well....Many of us write and call and even call the Press and not just the Elected. Bush is a Dictator. and he and his Regime are out of Control, and dangerous- and we all know it....But I am trying very hard to contribute back TO THE RESISTANCE MOVEMENT...and believe me there is one in this Country...Please do write me...I want to help all of us get through this hellish period....Bushco IS NOT AMERICA OR REAL AMERICANS...please don't lose faith in us....or lose Hope....

Grypehn: thank you for letting Naj know how hard we all have been fighting and trying....for 3-6 years of Hell...fighting this Criminal Regime....and yes, Hope very much is tied to fighting back....

CV RICK: what can I say..he is a preznut...that says it all , he is mentally incompetent and dangerous...I would not even sell him a gun, or let him play with toy soldiers- he is that dangerous....Pandora found Hope in the Bottem of the Box...so I guess we just have to get to the Bottem of the Damn Buishco Box...

Naj: again, I have to say the greatest weapon against the Propaganda is people like us, writing and speaking truth daily, internet, or Blogging, and writing and calling MSM and elected reps....and Freeway Bloggers and people protesting....we are trying and have been using every Effort to fight back...we are trying ..I do not know anyone that thinks that Iran should be next...even Military People are not in favor...please know that we are fighting back and that we carry you and the people of Iraq in our Heart everyday....but sadly we are experiencing a dictatorship ( he did steal BOTH elections) and a Police State, and yes, indeed we are well aware of what has been done to the MSM- and the Propaganda- it is why we all spend SO much time online.....please do email me offline...I want to talk with you...and help you...we all need to help each other get through this....namaste...and peace...always...

Gryphen said...

And Naj I would like to apologize for perhaps seeming a little defensive in my earlier comment. But I will tell you that the reason I came off that way is because I FEEL that way. Not because of what you said, but because I feel so responsible for what my government is doing in the world, and yet I cannot do a thing to change it.

I really allowed myself to believe that the Bush administration was just too toothless now days to start another conflict. I believed that. Only to find that the plans to attack Iran are continuing without a hiccup. I am astonished at the fact that this can still happen when the White House is emptying out into the street and the President has the lowest poll numbers in history.

I just feel helpless right now. As I know you must feel also. So I guess if I were to send a message to the Iranian people it would be that we are being victimized by this President as well. The difference is that we are not about to be bombed. And if we can find a way to stop that we will.

By the way I hope that you do e-mail Enigma, she can be a very understanding person, and a good friend.

Thank you friends.

On that note, have you heard about a GREAT movie:

The Hollywood's Secrets in This film is not rated

PLEASE watch it. The corporate watchers have been trying to keep it out of our reach. But it reveals a poignant bitter truth about the axis of evil: Hollywood, Military, Washington!

It effectively illustrates the process of de-democratization of the US!
