Smart is the new black.
So far, it's all verbal smoke and mirrors, but besides being very intelligent, Obama appears to be very well-prepared for whatever nonsense the batshit crazy wing of the Republican party is going to throw at him.
By the way, did you notice the cunning little trap Obama subtly unveiled near the end of his address when he spoke of working "with congress" to help implement his policies. In other words, if shit don't get passed, I have a feeling that our new President won't be shy about revealing who the roadblocks are.
If the Republicans keep underestimating Obama, I think they're going to be surprised. Although he's new to the political landscape, he knows how to read a map and he knows where he's going.
DR SCOTT....good to see you....you are right on all counts...he is smart..very smart...and he plays chess and poker...and he knows Games...( after the election campaign- don't we all ???)
I posted this Address and also last week's is posted also....the tone of the addresses is different...definently Obama is letting people Know that he is not to be deterred....he is thinking every minute...which is good- because Bush has been asleep at the wheel....for too long....45 Days to Liftoff to Real Change....the sooner the Better....
I just wish there were some legal way to get all this started NOW. I suppose Congress could jumpstart, but I don't see that happening. Bush is worthless, as usual. His is already on when he can start drinking in public again.
Upgrading fed bldgs & schools to make them more energy efficient is a good start. Besides the jobs it will generate, it will give all bldrs an incentive to build more energy-efficient products. The public sector can be a driving force in this regard. If you've ever seen a heat-print of city bldgs in winter, it makes you very aware of all the heat flying out of these steel and glass bldgs. There's a reason snow doesn't stick to the top of most commercial bldgs. No insulation up there! Same with houses. When it snows, you can see exactly which houses need insulation because their snow has already melted from escaping household heat while their more insulated neighbors are snug under snow-capped roofs.
How do you feel about Obama's plan to push for more medical info connectiveness through accessible electronic medical records? I have mixed thoughts & some worry about PEC and health care discrimination. That's why this needs to be incorporated into a universal health care system with national coverage for all, no PEC denials.
I am thinking about blogging about the Health Issues and Ideas this week, and yeah, I do have some thoiughts about the healthcare mess but alsot the card idea....
what you said is so true about buildings....so true... but what I love about all of this..for monthes many of us submiited ideas to the Obama campaign and we all blogged and read....Obama has created his own Brain Trust....pretty amazing...that much energy will move us forward- esp if Obama's team embraces it...( and he is ;-)
I figured you'd have some ideas about the medical info elec card, so will look forward to hearing your views! My big concern is PECs.
Really inspiring to watch Obama on Meet the Press today! All this stuff falling apart just now and he is unflappably calm, showing true grasp of complex issues, propounding good ideas, beginning as much implementation as possible behind the scenes. All I kept thinking was how if all this was being handed to Geo W, he would've been running around like the proverbial headless chicken, filling us with terror & dread. Instead, W was handed an economic surplus, a country at peace, etc. What a testament to his uncanny ability to eff everything to hell on his watch!
DK::: I only saw part of Obama on the MTP....bummer had to go to work...so I only saw part of it...( boy brokaw has really become a buffoon ????really kind of snotty to the New Pres I thought...it was his last MTP....BUT now we will have I-Love- Rove-Gregory....oh joy....)
about George...well we always KNEW he was worse than Nixon...NOW we also know that he is Worse than Hoover...Completely dangerous imbecile....
