Hurricane Katrina: TRAILER for The Drive
This is the Trailer for a beautiful, haunting Documentary about the Ninth Ward. The Viedographers went through and Drove it.
I still worry about NOLA, about what happened last summer, about What and Who was Hurt and abandoned and died.
If you are compelled after seeing the Trailer, the FULL DRIVE is posted below after the tribute to Ethel Freeman.
I am reposting these because of the Souless Criminals that are still in power.

Just saw Previews of Spike Lee's Katrina Documentary on HBO August 29th, 2006, and it is Interviews (4 hours long) Set your VCR....
( The Previews looked really good, very powerful...)
I am tired of Lebanon being front and center. With the election coming up we should be talking about the issues here at home more than we are. I am glad to see you put this up for discussion.
Thank you for reminding us.
Thanks for honoring our nation's great shame. How can any American who supports Bush after this can look themselves in the mirror will remain a mystery forever.
KARENA: How can anyone look in the mirror? such a good question....for which I have no answer...it remains a mystery.
Glenda : Thanks for coming...and caring.
Birdy: I don't think we will ever forget.
DUSTY: I agree...and if I hear Jon Benet Ramsy one more time I will pull all my hair out...
Thanks for caring and coming by...may we all remember...
Enigma: Please, PLEEEEZE, each hair is precious. I'm sure Jon Benet would not want you doing that. Instead, I'm imagining every media man and woman who harp on Benet being bald and realize WE have our work cut out for us. But in the end it would be worth it.
A couple of days ago, I 'reestablished' the connection between the computer and TV. So I was able to throw your video link over to the TV where wife and I could both watch this from a position in which we're both able to best absorb it--thru our feet, in a reclined position. Of course, that didn't last too long. At the end of the 15 minutes, we were both sitting up. Thanks for getting us out of our comfort zones.
thanks for reminding us never to forget the forgotten ... katrina should have been a wake up call regarding so many issues that loom large in the world today ... but it didn't even wake a glimmer of humanity in dub's administration ... just a few lame photo ops of dub with his immaculate dearskin work gloves and his unscrathed safety glasses in driveby habitat for humanity moments ... show us the money, if not a heart, dub ... dub, you kkk fuckwad [killer kristian klown] ...
DADA ( and the Missus): Thanks for taking the Drive...and even though I got your attention in the Recliners- that is indeed what it is about...it took my breath away the first time I saw it...it is worse than a War Zone...I was haunted by the cars- that means people didn't have time to get in their cars and leave...haunted by the houses UNMARKED- no one has ever even been there to look for bodies..haunted by the clothes and belongings hanging in trees..haunted by the barge drifted through a neighborhood- that was really HIGH water...WHY didn't the MEdia show us this..WHY ?
RORY: thanks for doing the Drive....and about Dub- he can't show us the Money- cause it done be spent in Iraq. He can't show us a Heart- cause he don't have one.It is that simple friend.
so true - so very true - they are souless and they are still in power!
thanks for the video sharing...we must remember and not forget - even if mass media says we need to forget
Thanks AZ...welcome back to town...yup...we won't forget.
( Side note: interesting, everytime that I post on Katrina- Bloggers says Objectionable Content.huh??? and my google numbers get doctored- on friday before Katrina post went up- 97,000,/94,000/87,000 top three Watergate posts- and today ....down again....by 2:30pm...and yeah, because I am talking to publishers about my" readership" this bothers me...on another note I know you all are sharing these posts about Katrina and that matters more...)
I'm so glad you posted on this & can't understand why Katrina-related blogs would get rated "objectionable". What's objectionable is what happened & will happen again. Truly a preview of what to expect from our current govt should we ever really need them.
The Rude Pundit took some good still shots of those same neighborhoods (lower 9th & Lakeview) last week: look at "Katrina Plus One Year", told in 5-parts (so far) on rudepundit.blogspot.com (scroll back to Aug 15 for part 1). Amazing how little has been done.
And, my HBO guide says Spike Lee's 4-part "When the Levees Broke" begins August 21st. I'm sure it'll be repeated a lot. Suppose any bush-handlers will review it for him, like they must have synopsied Camus (i'm still floored by the thought of him chimping his way through that)?!? -- D.K.
I took the drive. Very moving and disturbing to think this was allowed to happen here. These are sad days for our country. We've been hijacked by thugs.
LIBBY: I agree...hijacked by Thugs...thank you for taking the Drive...
DK:The Rude Pudit 's post is amazing- gonna include in the Sunday Roundup...yup Spike Lee's film I think should be amazing..
