Obama has made his pick for VA Affairs....and it ain't going to make the Bush Regime Happy....Click and read...

I don't know about you, but I was hoping that Obama would pick someone that made the Bush Regime Sweat at Night....like maybe Someone that was concerned about HOW Iraq was approached and lost everything trying to explain his concerns....so the first Whistleblower has been given a job....This is Now Getting Very Interesting.....

Shinseki?

(cue evil laughter)

Shinseki?

(Heath Ledger's lunatic grin from The Dark Knight appears on my face and curls up like a contented pussycat)

As a wise Klingon said, "Revenge is a dish best served cold." Or, to translate for the people out there not tuned in to sci-fi, "Payback is a bitch, motherfuckers!"

Besides being an intelligent, tough, and honorable war veteran who's more than qualified for the job, Shinseki is a man who will be respected by both progressives and moderate Republicans. And chickenhawk punks like Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity won't have the guts to call Shinseki a "traitor".

Hey, do you hear that noise? It sounds like a watermelon falling out of a window hitting the ground. Oh, it's just the heads of hardcore Republicans exploding.

Move along, nothing to see here.

Yes Indeedy Payback....

and yes, I too am grinning....boy I bet Someone had to calm Rummy down...he is probally spitting and spinning with rage...maybe those Vessels in his head are exploding....and I do hope that there will be TONS of Footage of Shinseki Touring Walter Reed .....moldy walls and all...

( remember those pressers where Shinseki was quoted to Rummy about MORE men needed...and yeah. the repug nutjobs....what can they say ? ahhhhh the "patriotic" irony...)

I cannot imagine a better choice! The irony is icing on the cake. It occurs to me there a lot of these generals discarded by Bush (he who claimed to listen to the generals, HAH, only when they said what he wanted to hear).

I think it is a wonderful choice -really sticks it to Bush.

( or whatever your name is...sorry but I deleted your comments because you were kind of off subject....we were talking about Shinseki..and how he will be taking care of the Vets now under Obama.... we are not talking 911 or Iraq....Hope you understand...

Maui:::
really sticks it to Bush, but also I finally feel like SOMEONE will be taking care of the VETS, in a real way....

If this is a good choice that remains to be seen. dh works at the VA and there were two contenders making the rumour mill (considered good candidates); Max Cleland and Tammy Duckworth. Especially the latter has got quite the resume that would've made her a great 'head'. This feels more like a 'consolation' price for Shinseki.
we'll have to keep you guys posted on that one!

Tammy is serving where she is needed, I hate to see her leaving her position, I do hope that she has some kind of role in working with VETS and their families.....and still will have much input....I know Max Cleland will have much input too....

BUT I have seen Shinseki at the Hearings, he is a quiet sensitve, thoughtful man....I was awestruck by him when In watched him - I think it was back in 2004 ? He really cared about the troops- and he was not upset about losing his position- he was worried about what would happen to the troops....I can picture him touring Walter Reed and getting things done.....

But we shall see, I have some articles from Vote Vets and other vet orgs that I organizing in a post....just have not finished it yet....

I personally think they should create a whole division offers just Brain Trauma and PTSD Care at this point....

I agree with you E. They definitely have to reshift their focus on Brain Trauma and Ptsd care..totally with you on that one. I think character wise, Shineski is fine, but for someone to head an org and understanding this type of organization is still another matter. I'm sure Illinois would love to keep Tammy where she is but hey, it would've been a natural progression to have her lead the same department, just on a higher level. She would've understood it better for sure..

we'll see what transpires..[s]

I think Illinois needs strong reps right now- more than ever- and after the Gov Demise- NOW I really get why he did not pick her.....I still think he will use her advice and that she will be able to contribute to change there....she also has not been in DC long or interacted with the Pentagon- don't forget- that the Pentago will be cleaning house for awhile....and Shinseki does know all the players...it will work in the end...as long as the housecleaning includes honesty and alot of respect...and he is mostly very respected.... except for the hawks...but it is time for the hawks to go.....I guess we will see what happens next...eh ?
