So for some reason it is the Dog Days of Summer have descended on the Middle of the Country. And it is not cooler by the Great Lakes, it is More Humid and Sweltering. 89 Effin Degrees and melting thank you..... I have been cleaning, and then taking breaks to lay in front of the fan and listen to music. ( The Little Yellow Dog and I both have been fanhogging). The cats are draped like wilted hydrangea by the various windows.I have three new posts to put up later tonight, but for now I am heading off to the store to find Hotdogs for the Game tonight, and then horrors of horrors 6-6's remote has Dead Batteries, so I must go. I am also going to get POPSICLES...
Hang in there my other Hot Friends...Fall will come...hopefully. ( Gee maybe that Mr.Gore was right, maybe that Global Warming thing is for real...gasp.)

I admit, I have really enjoyed this extended summer. Soon enough winter will strike Austin and we will endure 70 degrees, then 40 degrees. Too much, I'm telling you, just too damned cold.
It's only 81 today in Atlanta but pretty humid. It is supposed to be a little cooler and I really hate having to run the A/C in October. Stay cool.
Celia: I don't know you...you are looking like a bit of a spam....and I am a single mom , so Cool Investments or Wonderful Vacations are not in the cards for me....but I am leaving your comment, because maybe someone else can still afford to travel and explore...
Monk: Thank for letting me be a grouch, I had already put away the fans, and yes, turned off the AC, and even aired my sweaters, so this really made me unhappy....sillly me...ce la vie...It will cool off one day....
Pursey: I am so glad that you all are not burning up...sigh...it is just heat...and it did helpe the Indians win the other night- brought all the bugs out....
enigma
You're tougher than I am! Believe it or not summer just broke in Massachusetts. Fall weather started today and Joe took his wimpy fathers 3 air conditioners out today as he leaves tomorrow. Perfect timing!
I couldn't imagine no air conditioners but those popsicles sound good. How is your eye by the way? Cured I hope!
Enigma, I feel your summer-has-been-here-too-long pain.
Its just starting to cool down (ooh, speaking of, a nice breeze just came through my window hmmmm), but the summer just doesn't seem to want to end!
We had a brief period of fall like weather - mother nature tricked everyone, including herself! Leaves began changing, birds left, others came, bugs died down - only to have it all go back to summer again.
Random thought: I had the privilege of watching a young, confused woodpecker the other day. First he tried pecking at a tall, dead weed in a pot. Then he tried the deck wood, then the stairs, the house, and the drain spout before he finally flew off into an actual tree to peck LOL.
What fun it was.
I hope all is well, as you can see I've calmed down a bit from last night!
ANOK: LOL I loved the pecker story...so funnyl...cant blame him...I don't mind heat- it is like you said- we had a taste of fall and then the Heat came back....ugh...( glad you calmed down;-)
Jim: you crack me up...those AC's are out- so I hope my heat does not come your way...I have popsicles plenty---enuf to share if needed...take care...
baseball is on...and the Heat is helping again, althought I don't think it is that hot there....those poor yankees...hehe.
so you're having heat when you wish for autumn & out here we may be skipping autumn & going straight to winter. Oh, I hope not! But with highs of 60's & snow already in the mtns, winter can't be far behind. Time for fall pruning & fertilizing.
(ps, I'm testing to see if the blog you set up for me means I can comment & my name will be in blue, like, you know, a REAL person) If this works, I will no longer have to sign off as ~~ D.K.
Still 90s down here in Texas. It's not out of the ordinary. They promised us a "cold front" but it hasn't happened to Austin yet. "Cold front" means mid-80s.
Blueberry:
I know I should not whine...months from now when snotfreeezing weather is here I will be missing this...right??? and down there you all really have Heat...
DK: welcome aboard..there you are..glad to see you...I saw the weather maps- and indeed winter is on the way for the west..wow..snow in the mountains...Congrats on becoming a blogger ;-)
i haven't complained about winter for the last 5 years. i hate being hot more than i hate being cold. you can always layer- you can only be so naked :) go packers!
Ahhhh I am sitting here in surf shorts and a tank top watching football and dripping popsicles...this is bizarre....and I soooo agree....can only be soooo naked ;-)
Packers ????sorry I am rooting for Chicago....( actually this is the best game we have had on all weekend...and yes, i know the Browns are looking better...but they still lost today ;-(
( and we are not talking about the Indians....I still hate the yankees..)
Well whaddaya know! I was about to tell you the temps in Austin but the blueberry girl already beat me to it! Yes, they're saying a cold front will be coming down this week, which means it will be 'only' in the 80s somewhere. That said, if it's been that hot, even ten degrees less will feel a whole lot cooler,
phew, can't wait!
Ingrid
Well...I think all of us will be waiting for the cool off...hopefully sooon.....REAL sooon...
