I liked the rising tide raises all boats theme....
Yes we have to work together, but not blindly.... my biggest beef w gvment right now is how we have billions for war while we have tent cities & this brewing depression.
Although the money for Wall street (free for all) pisses me off, so does the war spending. No one seems to even *blink* about the more than 2 billion a month we will be spending in Afghanistan.
We desperately need that $2 billion a month here at home. And you KNOW things always cost more then they originally thought it would.
Montel is a good speaker & will raise consciousness. Yay!
I actually miss his show, and look forward to this new venture...I love that he is not turning it into a feel good show- but a let's solve problems and work together kind of show...and let's stay connected...a show that builds Community and Empathy.
His life experience also helps him share- the MS, and being an ex Marine ( vet and military issues are important to him...) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And about Afganistan... I have said before...I don't agree with it- I may understand..but no, I don't agree..I think that has been another Bush disaster that could indeed be a longlasting legacy...and we have not helped Human Rights or Women's Rights there at all- and all the promises Bush made about building their infrastructure and stability- BS....and poverty which fuels extreme movements- that has not been addressed there at all...and Gitmo is another horrible piece of the Afganistan legacy...It may indeed be a quagmire...
I also worry that Obama is he being told the truth about the region- esp the heroine and war lord issues....
Anything I say will just upset someone I am afraid. I am afraid you will not like his show though, because if you think he isn't going to talk support the troops you are wrong. He is very pro military or always has been.
he is an Ex marine Annette....so he does support the troops- but his last year on the air, on TV he had plenty to say about the troops and Iraq and their families and how the vets were treated when they got home...and he also is very concerned about healthcare in this country...he has even admitted if he did not have money and good insurance he would not be here....
