And I can't think of a more deserving recipient.
(Althought I am somewhat suspect that the awards committee could have been biased by the desire to twist the knife in the ribs of the current administration.)
I have a friend who is a biology professor at ETSU, and while visiting with her last month, was shocked to find that the people of his own home state are not particularly fond of him. Yet they absolutely LUV Fred Thompson. Go figure, RedStaters.

Go Al! And Congratulations!

Yeaaay, Gore! First American to win the Nobel Peace Prize since Pres Carter in 2002!

As far as detecting "a desire to twist the knife in ribs of the current adm", Dr. Know: absolutely & about time! I read Tony Fratto says Bush is "happy for Gore", but he "does not plan to call him". What a petty tyrant! He hands out the Medal of Freedom to the likes of Geo Tenet (a man who admittedly aided in taking our country to war on a lie), but can't manage to put a phone to his ear to congratulate the first american to win a Nobel Peace Prize in 4 years.

Well, I don't think Gore was waiting around for that call anyway. He's got an international platform with worldwide respect. That is just so "slam dunk" for global climate change!

Al Gore has come full circle. His portion of the prize $ will go right back into the environmental group to continue it's work. He did an excellent job of bringing this most important topic to the forefront.
The old poltical crap is water under the bridge.
He found his footing, and doing an excellent job of making this truth be known.

Let the Supreme Court try to take THAT away from him!

Atta boy, Al!

Cheers for Gore! Deserved and applauded.

CNN is reporting that Gore will not enter the prez race because he thinks the HRC machine cannot be beaten. It is CNN, so no sweat...yet. But it has caused a slow leak in my Hope balloon.

BTW: I am very tech-challenged and even 'tho I have several of them, until now I haven't known how to comment using my google account. BUT! I just figured it out.

my 2 ¢~ Instead of focusing on the early debate posturing, we should be demanding fully auditable vote/counting accountability.
Because in the end, it matters WHO is counting the votes & how the votes get counted (or not!).
Gore had announced a long time ago, he's not interested in a 2nd run for the presidency. Can't blame him. He can head up the environmental agency for a new administration.

Well I guess you know that the Republicans have be haveing fits all day today. I think that Al Gore really spoiled their day.

I am thrilled for Al Gore. I really doubt he will run for president and go up against Hillary though. Maybe we will have another Clinton/Gore ticket. Whaddya think?
