saw the real deal for about 30 years.
listening at home tonight.
i would have gone if obama were speaking, though.
the dead were famously apolitical, so this is quite a shift.

Bob Weir is very environmentally active....and so was Jerry....but I think you dead on....I was in Ca, in 2004= I don't remember them being active...then ( that was a pretty big election...but well, John Kerry was not well, very inspiring...)

So I went to the Dead website ...or tried to..Nope..no luck...then tried the other site I posted above- no luck.....

oh well....The iclips site should have the video of it tomorrow....

oh ....well...

You are right about Weir-- He wrote that great song ~ Throwing Stones (ashes ashes all fall down) & the Dead have traditionally avoided politics, but perhaps in their wisdom of age, realize you can't just bitch about how bad things are ya gotta make an effort to change.
If you are paying attention at all, things are REAL bad.
So kudos to the Dead for their efforts.
Either that or they just might *Steal your face right off your head*

actually, john perry barlow wrote that song, and many more. jerry was mainly into getting high, for the final decade of his life. i watched it happen, and understood why. still miss him, every day.
