Another Beach for the Soul....

************************************
"Love builds up the broken wall
and straightens the crooked path.
Love keeps the stars in the firmament
and imposes rhythm on the ocean tides
each of us is created of it
and i suspect
each of us was created for it”

--Maya Angelou

I had said I was pondering Beaches this past week...Especially ones that I love....
So I have been trying to find photos of some Favorite Beaches to share with you all....

Today is Sanibel Island in the Gulf of Mexico, I used to spent alot of time there from the time I was 11 years old on...and in the teen years I spent summers and vacations there. I swam with Dolphins there ( 3rd sandbar- at Sunset, unplanned and all alone, it was more than magical, it was spiritual..lifechanging).....saw a giant mama turtle lay eggs one night ( waited for 3 nights in the dark for the Event, before she came...I think she was a loggerhead).....and there is the Darling Nature Reserve that melts any birdlover's heart.....Sanibel only has buildings to a certain height to protect all the migrating birds ( so there are no buildings taller than 4 stories).....and I used to shell for hours ( and then make lamps and jewelery out of the shells)....and it is small island , so you can ride your bike to the library and also the market...and there are wonderful eateries and seafood spots and pizza places....It is the first place I ever had Pineapple Grouper Pizza ( many years ago)....and where my sister and I used to go to the Canal and feed George the One Eyed Alligator watermelon rinds and marshmallows ( yes, I realize NOW how awful and unsafe that was).....and I learned how to Sail there too.....And once every two years the Rolling Stones would come and destroy the Island ( we would search high and low for relics, like vomit stained ripped clothing...) And yes, there was the Music...alot of the Stones, Jimmy Buffet,Eagles, and Bob Marley.

The thing I loved best about Sanibel, is that it was peaceful, quiet and tranquil...and for a young girl, a bookworm that loved to spent hours exploring and reading it was Heaven...and to this day I know it is a Solitary Sanctuary.....Sand and Surf to sooth the soul...any soul...namaste.

[Certain Music really reminds me of Beach trekking there...Earth,Wind&Fire, and Commadores,Gerry Rafferty, Al Stewart,Jimmy Buffet and Bozz Scaggs,EaglesFleetwood Mac, and Steely Dan....so here is Some Gerry Rafferty from that era...with an Amazing Sax Solo]

[ Post below, Pineapple Pizza with some Jimmy Buffet]

Never been there, but it sounds like a little piece of heaven! Wow, all that and Bob Marley, too. I'll add it to my list of places to see when we can travel again.
