Stand With Dr.Dean....We as a Country NEED Healthcare for ALL...
So I have been watching bits and pieces of the Hearings in DC....Somebody tell me WHY there are NO Single Payer Advocates? And WHY No Nurses and Doctors have been asked to join these Hearings ???....
I signed the petition for healthcare I got today and wrote in the comment we needed single payor health care as an option too. There was no reason it wasn't included in their talks anyway.
I think the doctors and nurses are supposed to be there tomorrow.. but not sure. Thats what I think they said. Mike Ferrel, and a bunch of medical people will be there to talk about single payor..
Why no Single Payer? Simple. There's no money in it for the insurance companies. Come on, Nurse, you knew that.
The insurance companies have spent millions to buy our members of Congress, to make sure they survive to profit from the health care industry. Mind you, they don't give a fat rat's ass about health care, they are in it for the money. Health care has NOTHING to do with what they do. So they buy Congress. And their rate of return is very very good.
The same way the banks don't care a fig about real credit card reform. Everything is great so long as the Feds shovel money (our money) into their vaults and they are nicely taken care of, thank you very much.
One more thing, the Public Option that Dr. Dean talks about is Medicare for everyone. Medicare is an excellent single payer system. It is proven. It works. If we all had the choice of signing up for Medicare, the medical insurance industry would begin to wither away.

yeah...got it Newsguy...Medicare...is a working functional system- add 60 million people to it and it would still work....there is a way to do it...
( do see I added the work by California nurses to the info here....they are doing a standup job on this...)
( and if I hear one more repug whine about "socialized medicine"- .....all of DC- senators and congressmen have the best socialized medicine OUR money can buy them.....)
