29 Hours and Counting....Emergency NUKE Power Plant Shutdown.

PLEASE READ THE WEDNESDAY NIGHT POST ON THE EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN, AND SEE THE UPDATES THERE AS WELL...
It is 29 Hours after Perry Power Plant went into Emergency Shutdown after problem with Cooling Water Feed Lines. First reported at 11PM on Channel 3 News last night, Please See Updates on Post Below. ACTUAL SHUTDOWN WAS 11.28 AT 7:32 AM.

29 Hours and STILL no NRC Updates or Inspections. When a Plant experiences Emergency Shutdown, they are susposed to be On Site....anytime there is a Change in Cooling Water Flow there is risk of Meltdown. Due to Safety Issues NRC is required to be on site.

( Still Blogging light, trying to finish Inspection Preparations.)

It would seem that nuclear just isn't as safe and the President and some of the energy conglomerates would like you to believe.

Good luck with your inspection.

Thanks Jamie and to everyone for being so nice and supportive and funny about the Inspection- almost ready...3pm tomorrow- it will be DONE...thanks...

Yup...Nuclear energy is NOT the way to go....safety issues, aging plants ( Perry is over 55 years old), and the Waste issue are just some of the problems...

for Clean there is always hydropower....and WIND...and Solar...( up here near the Lake- FINALLY Cuyahoga County is buliding Wind Towers...)

Hi enigma!
It's sickening but nuclear power is the chief idiots idea of going green. Just wanted to check in. Hope all is well!

Wow do you have a full plate!

Nuclear power is just another way to pollute the planet and render it unlivable for our children.

I hope your inspection goes well Enigma. Good luck.

G: thanks- I hope it goes well too, I have been fixing everything and making it nice...and hopefully after 3pm tomorrow the Inspector will be happy and that will be that....( and my Landlord won't owe more fines)....

About the Nuke Plant- Kucinich 's office said they will update their website about the issue....So far NRC has posted nothing...at all...

Well, with a resurgent nuclear power industry about to resurrect itself, the last thing we want to read about is how the "safest" and the "cheapest" energy on Earth can melt down on you.

And if it were to be a serious event at Perry Power plant, the last place those NRC boys would want to go is to.....yep, Perry Power plant. (Such fine alliteration!)

After all, a major event like that is a very dangerous thing to be around and I'm sure that's the last place a bunch of Bush political appointee cronies, Skull & Crossbones brotherhood boys, his campus Young Republican pals, old dorm roomies and country club chums would want to go.

Besides, truth be known, those government folk really can't be bothered by acting conscientiously. When you're so very, very busy raiding the national treasury, private gain always trumps public safety and concern.

They must keep hollerin', "The sky is falling, the sky is falling!" Keep those citizen bastards shaking in their frickin' boots til they cart the last load of treasure away at which time they'll light the final fuse to Iran as the world explodes and the national economy collapses leaving all us Chicken Little adherents scratching our heads in stunned wonderment where our wealth and writes went (sorry, more alliteration).

Whether or not there is a problem worthy of concern, the Reich's principle concern is protecting the profits of the utility. There has been no news of it in this part of the country. I would not know of it were it not for you. Thoughts, prayers, and hugs.
