About Miyabi....

So I wrote over at the Enigma Cafe that I have been Homesick for the Northwest, especially the Sound and Seattle....I think everyone gets Homesick for People and Places and Spaces in Time....but it is about holding on to What Matters....treasuring memories...There is a Zen term , "Miyabi", it means to hold close, dear to the heart, and it can be anything that helps you feel at Home, within yourself......as long as it is dear to the soul. It is a quality that is healing, because it is the part of you that is embracing and appreciative of what is dear to you....Namaste.

"Each Moment outshines the one before.
Whatever happens, this is the present.
Make your home here."

Zen Meditation.

I just got back from two trips to Seattle, and a tour of the Olympic Peninsula plus Whidbey Island and Port Townsent. I am in love with the region. I want to move there. I love the water, the ferries the forests, the city, all of it. I took about a thousand pictures of the trip, posted a few a couple of months ago. You can be sure I know why you miss it. They even have WEATHER there, something we don't have in Southern California.

I have a hankering for some fresh Dungeness Crab from those little market stalls in Seattle right now! Then catch the ferry to Vancouver Island in the morning. I miss the evergreen trees all covered with morning dew after a rainy night. And looking at Mt Rainier above the cloud cover, of course.

Ahhh... the old PNW. It's a heartbreak, and I won't even begin to list...

I am a happy camper. I have seen and done everything I want and am content living in my memories as I hold onto what is most important to me and that is my principles while I fight for our future!
