Happy Days are here again.

Although some people might see it as heresy, Obama is reminding me of the great RFK more and more.

Yeah, I said it, and I believe it because I'm old enough to remember when Bobby inspired us, filled us with passion, and gave us hope before it was so cruelly taken away. Unlike ordinary politicians, Bobby wasn't just articulate but he worked hard was able to back up his words with action.

Sound like anyone we know?

After looking at the cooling debris of Hillary Clinton's campaign, and seeing the ever-growing panic and slow disintegration of the McPalin's inevitable course towards the iceberg, there's one deadly mistake that I think both of Obama's opponents made: they underestimated him.

RFK's braintrust ran a brutal juggernaut of a political machine and Obama, a fiercely intelligent student, appears to have studied the same playbook. While The Atlantic did an insightful but devastating autopsy on why Hillary's road to The White House hit a dead end, and McCain is stumbling around like Chicken Little with his head cut off, Obama has made relatively few missteps. As the McPalins run out of cash and time, Obama still has plenty of money available to buy ads and put thousands of boots on the ground to make phone calls, knock on doors, and effectively counter the increasingly-desperate attacks of obedient Republicans tools like the Swift Boat Veterans and that bible-carrying creep James Dobson.

Whenever racists or those misguided "undecided" voters bring up the "lack of experience" scarecrow, I can only wonder what are they looking at? After seeing how smoothly and effectively Obama engineered his campaign for the presidency, why wouldn't he be able to make equally astute decisions when he's in the White House? It wasn't luck or the color of his skin that brought Obama here. No, he's smarter than the sitting ducks he ran against. Maybe Obama's isn't that stereotypical politician you can have a beer with, but he's the sober designated driver who's gonna get everybody home safely.

RFK was a dream that was killed in the kitchen of a hotel, and Americal never recovered from that loss. Until now. And Obama is smart enough, tough enough, and brave enough to do it. It's a flashback from a more optimistic era that's been brought here to the present, and if we keep our Eyes On The Prize, we'll get to keep it this time.

Yes We Can.

drscott:::

thanks for sharing your thoughts..and you really said it ;-)

the times are changing...it is happening...'

I too have thought for a long time that he reminds many of us of RFK....his dream is alive in well in so many...and even many young people, including my son were searching and yearning for an RFK...and an MLK ...and RFK was very much about exploring the empathy deficit and unifying the people...to work for something better inside in all of us...

Wouldn't it be a hoot if McCain decided that he wasn't going to win, said to Hell with it, and started telling everything he knows about Palin?
