Want single payer health care? The very first step is to get the hell rid of all lobbyists. Make congress listen to their constituents and not corporations.

I have long advocated for medicare for all...the co-pays are not outrageous and the defined benefit is fairly comprehensive but the motherfuckers in the congress are once again being bought the hell off for their stock portfolios.

I agree.. that's exactly what we need.. Medicare for all.. what a great concept it is and what it would mean to everyone.

Although the people in the room chuckled over Baccus' remark "We need more police"- I did not find it funny. That was a great tactic to have a number of different advocates strewn about in the audience, to continue making their plea. Interestingly at some point the cameras panned "the table" where those testifying were seated, and there appeared to be 2 empty seats on the left end! How ironic!

It is a crime how the ins & pharma lobbies have a stranglehold on Congress- it's all about the money.
But it is a clear conflict of interest.

How about there be a no ins or pharma lobby money restriction imposed while this topic is on the table?

Too bad Congress does not have to experience the issue firsthand. Go without ins coverage to see what that is like.
