THE LONGEST SCROLL PROJECT...wow...A wonderful project that Nico Pitney blogged about this am....it will inspire you and make you want to be a part of Something Bigger...and so artistic and creative.... Nico Pitney is still Liveblogging the Uprising over at Huffington Post...he always has amazing updates and Finds...I did hear about this on Twitter last night, but I am so glad that he blogged it today...we need to share this ...far and wide....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Austin Heap's Haystack project will really help the Iranians get better access to the internet....critical right now, please do share this information...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This article from The Guardian explains about Proxies and how they work and help the Iranians. And in this article they also explore how Twitter has changed the World of Connecting.....forever.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now for some good news...about Clerics defying the Ayatollah and the Election, this from the NYT late last night....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Revolutionary Road has an update....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
LA Times also has a thorough update that covers a variety of the issues at hand...including what is next for Mousavi....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Neda's Boyfriend tells more about her and her life...about how innocent she really was....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BBC has an analysis of where the Sea of Green Stands and what happens next...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This column written by Roger Cohen will take your breath away....it is so touching and painful....I cried when I read it...People have asked me if I will stop blogging about Iran, and I have to say no...I am in awe of their Courage and sheer Determination. I am inspired by their struggle.....I wore a green ribbon this weekend around my wrist...an Iranian Man that came in to the market ( that is job number 3...the other 2 are nursing...I work the market because I need to try to get health insurance...) But he asked me, quietly, "For Iran ? and I said " Yes, for them...for the Sea of Green..."He nodded and filled up and said Thank you. It was a small moment...a moment of Connection. I told him we must have Hope and Faith.....I meant it.

I do hope you'll add this link to the side-bar; it is an Iranian woman - aged 26 - her posts and those comment, are very valuable to the total picture of Iran:

I haven't heard a peep from my friend since I posted the last piece. I suppose for the ordinary Iranian the internet has become a struggle to access from home.

according to Nico Pitneys liveblogging, and twitter- the Internet has been up and down there,and texting has come to a complete halt- I have not heard from some twitter sources for over 2 weeks...really frustating ....I hope your friend is okay,....but access is now a huge issue there...

Also, there are many articles about the uprising and conflict in China and the same thing - no I-net service; reporters banned, etc.

On top of that, this past week-end the North Koreans are suspected of hacking into the National Security Council's web-site; the Treasury Department, as well as cutting off many national web-sites in South Korea.

I've read about 3 different articles on this issue; including one from the AP; one on CNN, and one by a blogger.

I also read that Fox is winding down its coverage on Iran because it says the issue is over and done with.

I continue to read the one blogger that I gave the link to (above); she had a long one today about the interview that took place with those who've said the decision about the election if final.

It's a very good article because she has many names; facts, etc., about the continued problem but because the threat of serious incarceration or even death is so prevalent right now, few are going forward with any more demonstrations and the election is now considered valid, and their citizens are being told to honor it.

Hi Enigma my sweet rose...

Glad to see you were able to open the comments section up again.

In regards to your Huffpo item I left the following comment below at a site I visit.

"Every time I call Republicans Fascist Nazi's I get slammed for it. Well guess what?

A Fox Host says we are losing are "Pure Society". Isn't that what Nazi Germany wanted? A pure German Master Race of superior white Germans?

Watch, listen and read about it at link below.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/08/fox-news-host-americans-k_n_228209.html

"BROWN HAIRED GUY: The problem is the Swedes have pure genes. They marry other Swedes, that's the rule. Finns marry other Finns; they have a pure society. In America we marry everybody. We will marry Italians and Irish. "

We all know that the only people who still are the Republican base are racist and bigots and more and more every day they open there mouths and prove it.

They have driven out all the real Republicans and all that is left is the cesspool of the most vile human beings in America. This is today's Republican Party whether or not you want to believe it."

When will the American people wake up and understand what the Republican Fascist Nazi Party has done to our country?

If they don't wake up soon I fear that it may be to late to repair the damage that has been done.

I hope and pray I'm wrong.

Take care and ...

God Bless you.

Border Explorer has been blogging and tracking the Honduras situation..( which boggles me) and China..I would blog if I knew more or was able to get more info...I don't understand it well enough..and that is with digging...

But Iran really did and does still hold my heart- I can not explain it...

Happy::
quick note- the Uprising and resistance do continue - regardless of poor press or even limited press coverage. About your link to your friend- it did not work. There are many that say it is over- that is fine- but it is incorrect- there are millions there that are now even more committed to seeing Change- and even some former Ahmadinejead supporters have now joined the Resistance there- because of what they have seen this past month. The Movement has also spread far and wide outside Tehran.( which is a large region, but that south and north regions and even the rural areas are unrestful now- that is something.) Also that the Clerics are not happy is a point to watch...and lastly will be if there is a lack of support of Ahmadine.in the Ranks....and military and police ( during the upriosing he had to bring outside help in-that actually shows weakness..)

There are planned protests for today and they went forth, and will post video and photos links when I have them..

These are very very brave people....I will continue to blog their uprising...
