ABOUT CHANGE....

"Be the Change you want to see in the World" Ghandi

"People underestimate the capacity for Change. There is never a right time to do a difficult thing, a leader's job is to help people have a vision of their potential." John Porter
***************************
THANK YOU....
First off to everyone who came by on Tuesday Night and yesterday and offered thoughts, insights and support.

I know that Change is not going to be easy over the next couple of years, but there is a surge of Change now. People talking, sharing, working for Something Bigger, Something Better. A Movement is happening in this Country, it is real, and it not going away....and WE THE PEOPLE are part of this Change, it is not going away.... Millions of people are a part of Something now....It is up to each of us To Help Make OUR Country Different.

My son and I needed a few days to absorb what happened here in Ohio...but we know Something is Happening. And actually Obama did much better here than was expected or perdicted. And all of us here were part of that. I have told my son that WHAT we saw and heard at that Obama Rally, the Strength and Courage we saw is real.....not just in Obama, but in the people there. The People that were in the Line and at the Rally, ALL of them have Courage, and are willing to work for Change. That is what makes this Movement Real. My son says that this must feel like the 1960's, that you can feel it in the Air...you can see it.

We all have Children around us, and some of us have teenagers around us. It is important that they see this as a time of Shifting Tides, of Possibility, Of Finding Something Better Within each of us. Hope is also about reinforcing That Messege every day.

You are such a wonderful mother and a beautiful spirit. Your son is so lucky to have you, and we are lucky to have you you too! What a sweet soul. I firmly believe the good inside people like you can overcome so much bad in the world.

We can all do it together. I have a good feeling that Obama will get the nomination. More and more I'm beginning to believe that the powers that be have handpicked the other two, but the will of the People is actually going to count this time.

Thank you Enigma!

Your son has a point. I think, if nothing else, Obama's candidacy has generated an optimism that few have felt in this generation, but which seemed to dominate the ethos of the 1960s. The feeling that one could participate in positive change contrasts sharply with the cynicism and selfishness of the 1980s and later.

Off topic: My parents, in Cincinnati, say that in the days before the primary, right-wing radio commentators were urging Republicans to vote in the democratic primary for Hilary Clinton, especially since McCain had all but sewn up the nomination. I was wondering if you heard something similar in your neck of the state. I'd be curious to find out if this was a statewide-phenomenon. If so, then Democratic support for Obama would have been considerably greater than what the primary polls indicated.

Love your music selection, Enigma! Something IS happening; I know it & feel it & see it. And hey, Happy Bday to Gryphen.

Re: what xdell brought up about repubs voting in the dem primary as instructed Rush Limpbells, that is the problem with all these OPEN primaries this year. I don't know when so many states started allowing open primaries, but it defeats the purpose of selecting the nominee for YOUR party. As far as I'm concerned, registered repubs should only be able to vote in the repub primary, registered dems in the dem primary, that leaves independents to declare themselves for a party at the polls & vote once. If you're not a registered independent & want to vote for a candidate in a party you're not registered for, you should have to re-register at least 30-days before the primary vote. Tell me I'm wrong.

I think the original intent was to make voting as easy as possible, but it is being abused & will corrupt elections. General Elections are where you get to vote across party lines, for whomever you please. The purpose of a primary is to select the nominee for YOUR party!

Now, I have a question about FL & MI if they allow re-voting. Will they be able to verify repubs who ALREADY voted in their own primary in those states do not also get to waltz into the dem primary & vote? you can guess what I'm thinking ...

For me?

Wow, thanks Enigma! I love this song.

As usual you said the perfect words to remind us that the road to change is long and fraught with perils, but that just makes reaching our destination all that much sweeter.

I remember the sixties (well the part that happened in the early seventies anyhow), and you tell 6-6 that this just what it felt like. Only this feels better.

Now excuse me I have to go wipe my eyes, I must have some dirt in there or something.

Gryphen:
Thanks.....I knew you would like this song.....and I think that we just have to appreciate the bumps...as part of the ride....I hope that you got that something out of your eyes ;-p

DK:
You ask excellent questions ( and XDELL) about the Repugs being about to Vote like that (and are they really so stupid sheeples to go out and do that????) I think Florida and Michigan should be able to vote...and that it should be done properly or maybe just let them caucus- it is cheaper-...

Future:
well, he has Hill bashing him pretty good...and I am sure that the GOP machine will be just as bad....I think it is worse to get by a member of the DEM party...that is much worse...

enigma4ever said...

XDELL:
I don't know if something did happen down in the southern part of the state...I know that what Rush did on his show telling his sheeples to Vote for Hill, does not suprise me, he wants to to create "chaos" that is his goal....sick...and sad...he is determined to break OUR Democracy....

( and I agree with what you said about my son - it is true)...

Lydia:
thank you....I just try my best...just like all of us with kids...we try....and we hope...and we hope that we can teach them and give them a better world....

And yes, I am hoping that WE THE PEOPLE are making a movement that will make a big Difference...and it is already happening..and Changing Everything....I hope Obama is the Nominee too....thank you and thank you for all that you do....there are many good people making these Times Different....and Better...

In the end Obama has more delegates.
He clearly has the spark & charisma. When I compare the dem offerings-- you have 2 laywers running against one another. One chose coprporate law (Hillary), the other chose civil rights law (Obama). That speaks volumes to me--what a person chose as the field they wish to work in.
Flush Limbaugh made teh *vote for Hillary) on& around teh March 4 vote date on National airwaves-- I just happened to hear some remark about & rove has been pushing Hillary too- I have to wonder if they have some dirt that they would love to make public after she would lock in. If Rove & Limbaugh like it it MUST be bad!

The thing that has really bothered me is the mean spirited hate/fear monger stuff- the showing a picture of Obama in a turban in Somalia.... just before the big delegate rich March 4 primary elections. There was no random coincidence about that. It was somebody's smear campaign & sadly for some people that kind of crap works.
McCains toady began saying Barack HUSSEIN Obama over & over & people have tried to play the name association thing.

Having the name Hussein makes him somehow associated with Saddam Hussein, and I've heard other idiots say Obama rhymes with Osama... so therefore Obama is a part of-- the axis of evil, kind of bs.

those kinds of people are easily swayed with mindless fear tactics that the reich wing and it would seem, Hillary, is adopting these skanky tactics.

This is what desperate candidates do if they really don't have much to promote themselves on-- they can only attempt to win by cutting down the other candidate.

All that stuff only makes me want to vote for Obama more. Those kind of divisive tactics are a part of what I don't want my country to be.

Fran:
You are brilliant...the Issue of What KIND of lawyer they each are .....that is so true.....

( So now I am watching Keith on Countdown) I am appalled at what I missed in the last 24 Hours with Hillary and her Lovefesting of McCain and she compared Obama to Kenn Starr- what is she trying to do....none of this makes any sense.....I am floored..so she wins 2 states and that makes her praise McCain and bash Obama...what is she doing to the Democratic party.....)

And yes What she pulled in Ohio was nastly and there was nasty stuff here- phone calls and emails about his middle name and the photo. The Photo was taken on a trip to Kenya- his Homeland- her People- Ms Willaims said it was Somalia- she is the one that started that rumor.

About his Name. Hussein , he was named for his Kenyan Grandfather, it Means " Handsome" ...Plenty of fine people have had the Name -including King Hussein of Jordan.

Barrack Means "Blessed".......His Mother and His father.....named him with names that are part of his Heritage and truly carry great Meaning ......on a Spiritual Level....

About Rush and Rove pushing Hill...I don't KNOW why- I am sure it is because they have Evil reasons....

We are Better than THIS...the smearing tactics...the hatemongering....we need a NEW Culture that is Above this....WE CAN DO THIS....but it is going to take more work....I can't believe we have to help Obama fight someone within OUR own party- I have been writing to the Leaders of the DEM Party and Dean and Ted Kennedy about that these Tactics will break OUR Party and give McCain the Election....we need to stop it NOW....

thanks Fran...

Great video, Enigma. And I do feel that Barack has brought back the spirit of the 60's, the feeling of hope.

Christopher said...

I see where pussy ass Howard Dean caved to the forces of the Clinton machine and said he "supports a do-over in Michigan and Florida."

The only obstacle is the ca$h.

In a huge state like Florida, a repeat will cost upwards of $20 million dollars and the they are bound by state constitution to balance their budget each year, so the money is available to give the Borg Queen her way.

As others have said, the delegate math still favors Barack Obama and even if the Borg Queen were to win every remaining primary race (she has more of a chance being struck by lightening), the delegate majority belongs to Obama.

The governor of Colorado is already preparing to have the state's National Guard available to protect the city of Denver in the event that the convention becomes Chicago 1968 redux. A very real possibility if the Borg Queen refuses to accept the fact that the American people have spoken and they don't want her and her philandering hillbilly husband back for a third term.

Chris:
Hill WILL never allow a DO-OVER or a Caucus, and Michigan WANTS a do-over....it is a mess...I think in the END do to Money of it- the delegates will have to stand..
Keep the faith brother....I don't think ALL the Party Elders want Billary's wishes...

Maui:
Hey there....I think it is my new favorite Video...it captures what I have been missing ..and yes, gives hope...

I sure hope Obama's momentum can continue. If he was expecting to lose Ohio, then this is encouraging.

I've read that in Texas, too, the rightwing pundits were telling everyone to vote for Hillary in the Democratic primary.

I needed to read this post tonight. It has been a personally rough week in my world. I had to tell someone I considered a friend that I didn't appreciate her family's recent remarks that not only offended me, but contradicted what I am teaching my own children and as I see it hurt an entire population of people. I wanted to be able to discuss this and explain myself. Instead, I was told I was the only one with the problem and to take a hike. It hurts, but I believe I did the right thing, especially everytime I look at my children. Sometimes it's hard to "be the change you want to see in the world", but its the best we can do. Thank you.

3/11/08: Go-Bama-Go! Mississippi hands it to Obama! Chuck Todd just said he only has to win 46% of all remaining delegates (pledged and supers) to reach the magic winning number of 2025. Hillary would have to win 64% of all remaining delegates just to catch Obama. This is looking good (if only you could see through all that snow, huh?)!

Yes indeed~ Obama takes Mi-ssi-ssi-ppi
Right now he's got 59% to Clinton's 39% w 83% reporting. 16 more delegate votes for the Obamster.

1607 delegates for Obama

1476 delegates for (over the) Hill

Fran

Fran said...

Gotta say these updates make me cracy!

MSNBC is reporting 99% counted
15 delegates & 61 % for Obama

12 delegates & 37% for Hill

While CNN is reporting
20 delegates on one page for Obama

& on another page (on the same web site)
17 delegates & 61%
11 delegates & 37% for Hill

The good news is OBAMA WON & I also read that even though Hill won TX primary, Obama won the caucus & got more delegates from TX, overall!

Anyway...Obama won the lions share of delegates in MS-- 20 to 11- maybe, sorta, something like that.

Hooray!
