Friday Blogging.....Thoughts and Music

It has been a long week....Too Long. Between the Blizzard, the thick blankets of White that now are merely leftover Slurpy snows...and my smashed hip ......and the NeverEnding Primary Season.....I think I need an attitude adjustment.....or to make Brownies...watch "To Kill a Mockingbird".....I need an Atticus Moment.

Have a Good Friday Night.......

*{ Click the Title Music is Duffy " MERCY".....somehow that is the Right Song for tonight }*

I love this picture and your idea of making brownies while watching To Kill a Mockingbird -- one of my all-time favorite movies.

We are officially on spring break so the house is full of boys and a few of their girlfriends. I feel a little guilty that we have sunshine out here in California.

have a great weekend Enigma
God Bless you and your son!

Enigma,
You aren't kidding about the week being too long! I haven't been in the blogosphere much. Trying to get caught up on things and I think I may have fractured my ankle (slipping on the snow and ice). If the swelling doesn't go down by Monday, I'm going to have to make myself go to the doctor. I just hate to pay for the visit and an x-ray! I never answered your question about adding me to your blogroll. I would be honored! Thank you very much. Hope you have a great weekend and your brownies turn out yummy. Great song!

Hey Enigma cheer up!

I know that you have had a ton of the atmospheric equivalent of horse shit dumped all over your town, but it is almost Spring!

Soon the skies will clear, the birds will sing, the poop your dogs left on the lawn will be revealed by melting snow...wait wasn't I trying to be positive? Well you get the idea.

Anyhoo, the point is that things are going to improve...and then get bad again....and then improve...and then get bad...and ..well...the point is that things don't stay bad forever.

I know that Obama got a whole face full of bad press, but we all know that is going to happen, and he handled it pretty well. He went on with Keith (Who apparently came into the office just to interview him) and handled himself very well.

So you cheer up little soldier! There are people who need to have your positive energy to help them deal with this world. (Not me of course, I am TOTALLY self reliant. TOTALLY.)

You and I should be regrouping on a nice warm beach letting the sun heal your ankle and my hip...I am so sorry about your ankle...It has been a hellish winter...

Hang in there..and as a naggy nurse...please get your ankle checked..and much ice....etc etc...take care...

( I will update the blogroll this weekend..need to get caught up...)

I was here, and bumped into you....didn't even know you were here..oooooops.....Now I know you are right......I do try to be positive...but I also try to be real...and there are times the Optimism Reserves get a little low here at the Enigma Cafe...but believe me I am working to stock up again ( you KNOW that...) And stocking up means brownies and movies...and maybe some wicked music ( hence the Video attacked to the Title...)

And I know that you are very self reliant.....( those Alaska Men are soooo amazing...)

( About the picture...I am hoping that she is just letting the Knight Sleep and that she wakes him up soon.....6-6 asked if she knocked him down-I had not even seen that LOL....)

So Alaska man you take good care up there.....and don't worry Enigma will be back to her old spunky self.....in no time...

( BTW I pick up my dog poo...I never leave landmines for my neighbors.....)

I think the lady humped him into a coma. Naughty I know, but that is just the way I roll.

I went for a long walk on some wilderness trails near my house to clear my head and get my perspective back. That is just one of the perks of living in one of the most beautiful, unsullied pieces of real estate in the world.

Yeah I am bragging.

Gman....
well, well....and what of the armor? wasn't that a problem? I mean as a Knight you should know of these things.....hmmmm , well since you are a Knight I will have to trust your expertise on these issues....

I just sent you some music..and then YouTube shut me out of my account- that was a first..hope the song made it your way...

I know it is beautiful There....( I mean I watched Northern Exposure- so I am an expert...oh that 's right that was filmed In Wash State...okay....)

I too went for a walk...in the Land of Slurpy Slush...Little Yellow Dog found fresh Rabbit prints...that was a very very big deal....

okay...back to Youtube...

fun vid! singer reminded me of the Great Bardot (way back when). wonder how many dancers showed up for casting call & said, you want me to dance through WHAT?

I think those pix of beautiful women with the, ahmmm, used up (cough) knights are supposed to be like sirens who call sailors to their deaths. A good way to go, though.

Funny your dog found rabbit prints. Today ours found a hillside full of pocket gopher mounds. VERY exciting! And then the cutest little neighborhood girls in ballerina outfits came over to pet them. The dogs were a bit leery of their crispy pink tutus, but liked the attn.

Nice to say goodbye to this week huh? I'm working on a Saturday Night blog now ... never too early for saturday night.

I managed to get tickets free for the Georgia State Ballet (East European Georgia) performance of Giselle.

In addition there was opera singers in the lobby, and free gourmet pastry.

Renegade....
YOU had a good night...good for you.....and pastry too? and opera ? and GISELLE.......

( tonight was Mistake Cake and we watched "SAVED", really good little movie- alot of good points in it.....tomorrow is the Brownies and Borsht and "To kill a Mockingbird"......)

DK:
ahhh a post tomorrrow - good for you...I love how the dogs were leary of the Tutus....too funny...about the painting...I think it was a week of watching Knights get Tarnished and wounded...or maybe I just like that it looks like Spring in that painting...(flip Flop weather??)......

Gosh, you need some summer! Have a great weekend.

Job hunting?

We're moving backing California in December. RN jobs in the Southland are plentiful and pay very good.

We've chosen Palm Springs and the Desert Regional Medical Center.

300 days of sun, no snow and a Democratic majority. Just a thought!

Angie said...

Yes! A nice warm beach. That's just the ticket!

D.K. Raed said...

Enigma, it WAS a week of knights being tarnished ... I didn't get it until you said it!

Hey Christopher, I used to live a block from DRMC in PS. I was just down there visiting a month ago & saw Obama bumper stickers & Impeach Bush-Cheney stickers -- stuff I NEVER see here in UT. Certain sections of downtown Palm Cyn are EXACTLY the same as when I lived there 30-yrs ago! You'll love it! Enigma, PS has absolutely NO snow, none-zip-nada, it was 60-70 degrees in January. The local college now offers 4-yr BA degrees for your son. To beat the heat, in the summer, you just go up the tram into the mtns on your days off. I'm gonna email you some pix!

Christopher said...

DK Raed,

Maybe we can email you with a few questions about PS?

DRMC hires new RN grads and the pay is about $10 an hour more than here in Upstate, NY. They have a great training program for new grads for specialty medicine, so Jim is totally pumped.

We will probably rent a year then buy a house or a stand-alone condo. The real estate market is depressed to 1992 levels, so this is the golden opportunity to buy a home in California before the market starts to climb.

I love that sort of climate. The dark, snowy 5 month winters here are just awful -- so depressing and life is too short to live like this. No wonder everyone under 40 years of age has moved away.

E4Ever,

I have been enjoying listening to Duffy and her Mercy much of the day. I don't know whether to thank you or what. Besides finding her website, I also found out it's a free download on iTunes.

Thanks for letting me know about her. What a great voice.

Hope your hip begins to heal and feel better.

The dancing on that video was good! This was a very busy week oh i'll shut up. I noticed your blog on Tibet yesterday. I discussed that today in relation to China, their abuses. and the Olympics. It blows me away but I absolutely believe their primary interest in Tibet is their water source, the Himalayas their future.

Patriot:
The dancing was good...in kind of a 60's kind of way...
China is interested in many resources...and power is also about people and sadly snuffing the Buddhist Religion in Close Proximity is also a critical issue...

Skippy:
Lovely to see you....This hip will heal....eventually...I guess I am not a spring chicken anymore....oh well...

Voltos:
I too love this song..and was glad I found her..( 6-6 found her first....ahhh living with a teenager- they always find the good stuff first....) Glad it added to your weekend...

Christopher and DK: Hope you are talked and Shared PS info....wonderful...

Angie: Hey there..hope your ankle is healing..and feeling better....sooooooon....

Josie: good to see you..sorry I did not get back here sooner...
