It's Not Just Tent Cities that are Spreading...It's Families Moving to Hotels

CBS did this story and it is about the families that can not afford Rent so are moving into hotels....this is Costa Mesa California..

Wow~ Quite the story. Still $40 bucks a night, is $280 a week $1,102 a month.... that is higher than what a mortgage payment might be.

So sad. But better than roughing it in a tent with little kids. Also...so sweet the story of the coordinator, who will still come back to help even without pay, because her heart is in it.

Someone call Oprah!

The big O has a shitload of $..... she should get cracking with her angel network & help turn people's lives around AND get other people to donate.

For someone in her position, it is not enough to just tell the story... she can do something about it.

Get all the rich folks to start helping.

When I lived in my r.v., I used Dana Point which is south of this beach (I lived in Orange County for 20 years, so I'm familiar with Venice).

You could buy a year's 24/7 pass for $140 at Dana Point, which is what I did; I shared my r.v. with 2 other people, and we parked up about 24 to 26 on the beach each and every day.

We shared everything; got day-old rolls @ 10 for a $1.00 because the local businesses knew of the plight.

We would buy up a package of hot dogs; get a big can of beans, and start a fire on the beach to keep warm.........

Best times - good times; taught me a lot - these people are wonderful!

I've also added new information about the homeless on my blog:

We're helping homeless in Nevada (thank goodness I was only homeless for 5 years). You make friendships; you learn much, and you appreciate every little thing in life.
