SENATOR OBAMA'S HISTORIC DEMOCRATIC NOMINATION VICTORY SPEECH 6.3.08

SENATOR OBAMA IS THE PRESUMPTIVE NOMINEE, HE HAS WON ALL THE METRICS AND MADE HISTORY TONIGHT.

The People Voted and Caucused and put him over the top, and the Superdels also came forward and added their Support to support the Efforts of WE THE PEOPLE. At 9PM he Hit the Number that was needed to Win the Nomination, 2118. He did it with a Mammoth Grassroots Movement, that has been ongoing for many many monthes. Millions of people worked to help achieve this, it was no small feat. We all should be so proud of him and the Obamas, and the Staff and Volunteers that gave so much to save Our Country.THIS Movement is Real, and here to Stay. Change has Arrived.

Tonight in St.Paul he gave an Electrifying Speech to 19,000 inside the Arena and also 15,000 that waited outside to see and hear him and be a part of History. People waited for many Hours today to be a part of this, and The LINE to see him was over a MILE long.( The MSM should have showed this to the Public, all the Public on Regular TV, and the Evening News.).

He continues to need Our Support and Encouragement. We also need to express Our Gratitude. It is also OUR Movement, and if we have Strong Feelings about His Campaign, His Choice of VP and His Cabinet, I am encouraging people to write to him and also go to his website and express yourself.

WE ARE THIS MOVEMENT. IT IS OUR TIME.

I was able to go to you tube & finally get a version that did not crash. Great speech.
Liked his accolades & dedication to his Grandma in Hawaii- so sweet, and that he thanked his wife & kids.

WE move forward-- three cheers for the presumptive presidential nominee.

Yes!

Enigma,

The MSM can't remove its mouth from the Clinton teat.

This should be Obama's moment, his day in the sun, but the idiot media, from Pig Eyes Scarborough, to the airhead Mica, to CNN neocon John Robert, to the retards on Fixed Noise, are addicted to the "what will Hillary do" and "what does Hillary want."

Hillary Clinton is tacky and tasteless and very Nixonian in her behavior. I predict, the day Obama is sworn in as president, the MSM will run segments that ask, "what is Hillary thinking right now?" and "what did Hillary have for breakfast today?"

It's an addiction and they need to get help.

Sewmouse said...

Ah, but Christopher - just think!

The more time they WASTE worrying about WWHD, the less time they have to dig up or MAKE UP dirt about Senator Obama! Their refusal to let the Democratic candidate of THEIR choice loose can only be a good thing in the long run.

I've long said that the MSM and the Republican/Neocon hardball players have blown their wad on finding everything possible to throw at Senator Clinton (the rabid-neocon's arch-nemesis "hillary") - and now they are going to have to scramble to catch up and MAKE UP new things to try and throw at Senator Obama.

I can hear them now "But... but.. but... we have all this extra dirt we have been saving up for the general elections on how awful Hillary is..."

*chuckle*

The primaries are over, so the talking heads need something to glom onto.

WWHRCD is the new game in media-town. That should be expected since its the only controlling she has now.

Obama is the Man!

Hillary is being very supportive of Obama and how good he will be for Iraq, Israel, and middle east peace but that will end if it becomes obvious she does not stand a chance of VP if that is the case! We cannot afford a President McCain to happen if we can keep this election too from being stolen.
McCain’s change is the same lies with a different disguise! We must come together! Like it or not I see an Obama Hillary ticket guaranteeing party unity albeit with many caveats.
Personally I see many potential nightmares for Obama and us with “Billary” as Veep but I don’t realistically see a way around it! Short of being offered the VP I see Hillary taking this to the DNC and Ickes, Bill, and other “ilk” will happily make Limbaugh’s dream and my worst nightmare come true! Like it or not this is not over until it is over! Stupid me I thought it was “over” once the required amount of Delegates was gained. However consider the source and those pompous, fickle, egotistical, uncommitted Super Delegates are P’ing me off!

I just heard former US Deputy AG Eric Holder and Caroline Kennedy or 2 of the 3 picked so far to search for a Veep for Obama!

Ingrid said...

so I've been reading 'around' for the few free moments I had today and it seems that even conservative pundits dished McCain's speech. Aaah.. can you spell 'the shape of things to come'??
and wow, I know squat about Caroline Kennedy but if you want to reach the women voters who kept believing that Clinton was the queen's meow..that would be an awesome ticket just name recognition alone!!

Obama's speech was as classy as his campaign. I thought of you, enigma, while I was listening to it. May all your/our dreams come true in this moment and in the coming months.

D.K. Raed said...

Caroline Kennedy is only on the VP search team, Ingrid, But of course that is how Cheney started out.

Salazar of CO just endorsed Obama! Rangel was raggin to Andrea Mitchell that he just doesn't understand last night.

Tonight on NBC Nightly News, Brian Williams is interviewing Obama.

Christopher said...

Caroline Kennedy has never held elected office and I think it would be extremely unusual for her to even be asked to serve as Obama's vice president.

The role of vice president has evolved over the years and is no longer a merely a ceremonial position. Think of Al Gore and the role he played in Bill Clinton's administration.

By the way. Where is Al Gore???

enigma4ever said...

Hey all...I apologize that I Got here Late...I think my server is being bashed down in Kentucky...( storms and tornados...I swear I have never seen a season of tornados like this..over 800 warnings in 8 weeks ???)

Border Explorer::
You are so right that his speech was amazing...You thought of me- that is really nice- thank you...I really appreciate that...I thought of ALL of us that have survived these 8 years of darkness.....and Hell...we have worked on Moving us Forward to Something Better... Namaste friend...

Ingrid:::
McCains; speech was so horrible...and poorly constructed and written, and he blinked his way through it, like a sleepy possum facing the lights of a drunken pickup truck....He said the word "Change" 32 times - but when we look at him - all we see is him hugging bush...Caroline Kennedy is a very sharp lady- wel read, educated and VERY respected in ALL NYC circles...and as a book editor she is so accomplished- and then there is her history......she is an astute measure of character...so I feel that her help selecting a Candidate is wonderful news...

Patriot::
Obama has a wonderful team- don;t worry they will figure out a way to deal with Hillary/Bill....and the machine that is Clinton...they will not let him be bullied and manipulated...by her...or her handlers..She truly showed her lack of grace last night...

Dusty::
you are right as ususal...sigh...same story different day....Some things change, and some things don't ....as much as we want...

Sewmouse::
all as ever another voice of reason....Fox and Rove are scrambling with their bag of tricks...well put...

Christopher::
I really think what Sewmouse said is true...I think that many people will help Hill to the door- but the seedy media will stay focused on Hill- as they have been for so many years- they don't know how to break that cycle- the CHANGE we need it is NOT just DC , it is also the MSM, they MSM needs a total overhaul...and I think as their numbers continue to suffer - they will realize we all watched the DEbates in record Numbers - not to see the talking cottoncandyheaded pundits- but to see REAL issues effecting us dicussed...Problems of the people were finally put out in the open...End of Bush Bubble Propaganda days...We will get the Media fixed- and we will help Clintons exit- it is going to take alot of other people to do that...( and the Party Elders will help the Clintons out...the door)..It will happen...have faith...Millions and Millions are on board now- remember that...

enigma4ever said...

Chris:
Caroline Kennedy is NOT going to be VP- she is on panel to examine the VP options..she is on it with 2 others....( I would love to know WHO else is on it- I would bet money.....Bloomberg? and/or Gore ?)

He has amazing people working for and with him...I am sure that he will examine all options and people that are respected and responsible looking at what is needed on the ticket- there is NO rush....( only in Hill's mind)

enigma4ever said...

OOops DK..
missed you we all posted at the same time...Caroline is a good person to have on the team, she is very wise....and she a true observer....and thoughtful...I watched her when she spoke endorsing Obama, and it was one of those moments that was I was awestruck at how insightful she really is...

Rangell is confused, because she spoke to the NY DEM leaders and media yesterday and made it sound like she was giving a Concession speech- so they all had anticipated this beautiful speech- and instead she whipped out her stump speech ( it is the same speech she has been using since Indiana)...

thanks for heads up on News ...

jmsjoin said...

I just heard Breaking news on CBS that Hillary will be backing out Friday, Yeah!

enigma4ever said...

Patriot:
Thanks...that is good news...Hopefully she is writing her concession speech as we speak ;-)
{{{ I think she got a bit of flack today for what she did last night...rangel etc}}]

D.K. Raed said...

Roger Simon on Hardballs just said it looks like Hillary is trying to "jawbone or guilt-trip Obama" and that it is not setting well.

Rangal appeared pissed off, or genuinely befuddled, about what happened last night.

Caroline Kennedy will do an excellent vetting job for VP candidates. Her instincts are sound.

And you know, I STILL haven't seen any MSM coverage of the crowds, 15K oustide the stadium, in St Paul. Overseas news is covering the phenomenon, but here? nuthin'

Christopher said...

Poor Leslie.

He looked like he was about to cry.

What a tacky, tasteless, classless woman. She should have made the announcement last night.

But she couldn't miss one last opportunity to diss Obama.

What a bitch.

enigma4ever said...

7:22PM:::
BREAKING NEWS....MSNBC
Hillary has issued a Statement that she is suspending to her campaign Friday and endorsing Obama. Apparently this afternoon 23 Big Dems got on a conference call with Rangel and encouraged her to concede and that she endorse Obama this week. ( as
we all saw and heard Rangel was very distressed by her behavior and her speech. )

{{{Definently the Most UN-Gracious Moment of the Whole Campaign ( yes, it topped the RFK Blunder) }}}

Unknown said...

Using the term bitch to describe her Christopher makes you no better than the neocon thugs who use that word to describe her.

You realize that right?

Ingrid said...

DK..thanks for the heads up, I'll stay up for NBC's nightly news. I just read that Caroline was going to be one of the three people who are going to look at VP's. And the head of the BET network apparently thinks that Clinton has to be number 2. Nuts. On Huffington Post there was an interesting article (not from today) about what defined the Clinton era. It was a very helpful analysis that explained why Hillary's supporters are so negative.
sorry, forgot who wrote it..
Ingrid

Ingrid said...

DK..can you give me some leads on the overseas coverage?

Ingrid

enigma4ever said...

Dusty::
sorry...I just threw up the BREAKING NEWS and did not read the thread....Yeah, I just don't want anyone called name anymore..I confess it is my fault for cussing up the thread last night- so it is my fault...actually many of us were cussing...I think that alot of us - including me were very very upset about What she did last night...so I am apologizing.....I am sorry.

Ingrid:: I can share some overseas coverage too, I will leave it at your site okay...( I think I saved the article you named...)

Christopher said...

You realize that right?

Dusty,

Ah, no I don't "realize that."

To equivocate the use of the word "bitch" with neoconservatism is one of the nuttiest things I've ever seen.

You realize that, correct?

enigma4ever said...

Christopher:
please don't do this...STOP....
It's my fault that we were grumpy here last night and all of us did grump about her..- BUT this was supposed to be a post about Obama- and one of joy...and hope...
I think Dusty meant that Rpug Neocons call women"bitches' all the time- and so do trolls-
Lets move past Hillary - and
yeah she screwed up badly last night- but it is almost over...FRIDAY...
okay...

Please don't get into this with other bloggers on my blog...I am really really tired...I can not keep doing this...I just want us all to be able to talk to each other....just talk...no snipping..not amoungst ourselves- that is what the Neocons rethugs do want....they want us all growling at each other all summer...

Okay ? Let's have some Peace...namaste...

Unknown said...

You werent using the word in a positive vein, thats for damn sure.

Why do you find it easy to call her a bitch?

No one, including Obama, has run a perfectly clean above board campaign. I despise the tactics not the person.

Such vitriol is usually reserved for rightwing nutjobs.

Christopher said...

Why do you find it easy to call her a bitch?

Because she is one.

Anyone who sends her husband to South Carolina to play the race card against Obama and then invoke political assassination as her reason for remaining in the race is a bitch.

Why do you find it so easy to defend her?

enigma4ever said...

WHOOOOOAaaa..

PLEASE PLEASE stop...everyone, anyone,...I care about everyone here...please please stop...no more of it,...no more name calling , no more snipping...

Here is the thing...
I am really really tired....please...
I don;t mind the Crappy Ass MEAN letters I get night after night, and the Troll Turds left here...But I can not have people that I care about argu
ing and fighting or any hateful stuff going on...

Please please let's just call it off okay..
I will get some cold beers and we can all just sit and talk...that is all I want ...need...it is also very much what I have been trying to have here....a place where we could all sit and talk....

I am basically a peaceful soul...
and I may be a warrior in some ways..
but I am very tired....
it has been a long 8 years...
and I can not have fighting around me- between people that I value and cherish....

Namaste...

My daughter and I watched Obama last night - he was electrifying. It contrasted sharply with John McCain's speech from New Orleans - a speech I found chilling in the way McCain twisted Obama's phrase "change we can believe in" over and over. McCain sounded like he had channelled Ronald Reagan.

Obama's speech was a call to action, and I loved it. He's quite charismatic, and it was interesting to watch my daughter: she was ill, recovering from stomach flu, needed to go to bed, but could not stop watching the speech. And of course, I was in tears because it was the first time in 40 years I felt real hope for our nation - it was wild.

enigma my sweet rose...

You are truly a voice in the wilderness.

Yes even I ask a regular not to use a slur of her name and to be respectful even though I was pretty strong in the post I did late last night.

And yes there are still those Hillary supporters who don't grasp the significance of her RFK remark she made as a historical reference.

It was said that those in her campaign called those in the senate who were her strongest supporters to talk to her and have her do the right thing.

And yes Rangel was peeved to put it mildly about what she did last night.

Now we will watch and see if see really tries to heal all the wounds this campaign season has wrought.

If she don't history will not be kind to her. If she does then she will do a lot to restore her legacy.

Now it is up to her and only her. Those who would not vote for Obama still will not vote for him no matter what she says or does and in the long run she can do more to repair the damage both she and Bill have caused.

Lets wait and see what happens over the course of this election season and how November turns out.

Right now that is the only thing we should all be working for.

Thanks for being a port in the storm. Take care and ...

God Bless you my sweet rose enigma.

Thank you dear friend...I really do want to be a port...partly because I think we all need a port in this stormy time...thank you for understanding that about me....

I think now that ALL of these folks have weighed in, from the Senate and the House...and party elders...they will corale this campaign that ran way of course last night....I think many were not upset that she did not concede- it was that she did not even acknowledge the Historic Moment of What Obama achieved last night....that really is what was distressing....BUT...

today later afternoon....the Elders talked with her23 on a conference call and laid it out to her...that is what needed to happen...I hope and pray that now she gives a proper goodbye to her campaign and her workers and supporters and also a warm endorsement for Obama ....because we need the healing to begin....as soon as possible..

so that we can get the WH back....for ALL of us...

namaste to you dear friend...

DIVA::::
I too cried...how could we not revel in this Moment....this History....I realized that even I as a child of the 60's....missed the 60's .....HUNGERED for it...and then I watched my son - ignited by this man and what he brought forth and that he brought the best out of all of us...and now he will bring us together....I am so sorry about your daughter, but glad that his words and his speech even reached her when she did not feel well....George Clooney said on an interview with Charlie Rose..." He is the kind of guy that you want Follow him....Anywhere...so when he leaves the room....you are drawn to go.....Anywhere"...it is so true..he is a Born Leader...and in these Dark times that is what we need.....I found myself thinking about his mom and his dad....and how proud they would be of this amazing son .....Many Hugs to you dear friend....

Our Future is here....

One more thing.

This reminds me why I loved The West Wing with Martin Sheen as President "Jeb" Bartlett.

Honesty and Integrity in the White House.

And now we too can have a Jeb Bartlett representing us, We The People.
