LET'S EDUCATE PEOPLE ABOUT THE KEATING FIVE, THIS IS THE 13 MINUTE DOCUMENTARY THAT EXPLAINS IT AND MCCAIN'S ROLE...see below or click the title...

13 minutes...Of An Economic Scandal that McCain was a part of...

( and yes this is a 13 minute documentary about McCain's role in this, and also raises many questions about his Economic Judgement and Ethics....learn more here....)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"During the savings and loan crisis of the late '80s and early '90s, McCain's political favors and aggressive support for deregulation put him at the center of the fall of Lincoln Savings and Loan, one of the largest in the country. More than 23,000 investors lost their savings. Overall, the savings and loan crisis required the federal government to bail out the savings of hundreds of thousands of families and ultimately cost American taxpayers $124 billion.
Sound familiar?
In that crisis, John McCain and his political patron, Charles Keating, played central roles that ultimately landed Keating in jail for fraud and McCain in front of the Senate Ethics Committee. The McCain campaign has tried to avoid talking about the scandal, but with so many parallels to the current crisis, McCain's Keating history is relevant and voters deserve to know the facts -- and see for themselves the pattern of poor judgment by John McCain. I watched it. It is documentary- quality, in my opinion. Awesome.
There are two versions (one apparently has a youtube error - probably something minor- I watched the error-free one.)They are probably almost exactly alike.
Already half a million hits today combined for the two versions. Damn.
I could have done without the doomish music part of it, the story is grim enough without the enhancement.
On the flip side... when I got this vid e mailed to me from the O camp, I forwarded it to many friends.via e mail.
One friend who was not an Obama fan, and was not going to vote in this election said knowing this piece of history put her over the edge into voting for Obama. The financial meltdown is making people take a 2nd look at the government, and this piece of history is another piece of the puzzle.... for those who were still puzzled.
I ended up talking about this video with the guys next door- they are 22-30...and they explained they had never heard of it- they knew NOTHING of the Keating issue....and they said they were going to talk to their folks about it- and they got it immediately about how Johnny handled himself then shows judgement....and also that "economically he is not a solid person,ethically it raises alot of questions.."..
so in an odd way- that video will help open a dialogue between generations..
Thanks all...we need to share the vid....
Let's not forget that Cindy McCain continues to have investments with them and has made a bundle. I read about it on Huffington Post.
