Warm Hearts and Cold Feet, and the Lost Mittens....1.2.07

Thank you for all of your wonderful New Years Thoughts, such warm thoughts that I really appreciated. This morning it is 18 degrees and still snowing. I have no idea how much is out there. I learned yesterday that my boots do leak, but they were only 10 dollars at a Seconds Store downtown, so it was inevitable. NOW I know why they were soooooo cheap. And then the biggest tragedy, I lost my ONLY Favorite gloves. They were Fingerless, handmade finely woven LLama wool, beautifully soft, and easily worn in my cold house, or under Big Floppy mittens. They were the very last Christmas Present my Ex gave me when we lived still in the Northwest. So in many ways they were my last thread to the Northwest. I think I left them at a Neighbor's House, and I know she is annoyed that I keep asking her to check her house. But for me, they are not just "gloves", they are my last thread to my old home.....oh well...Just One More thing to let go of.

Since it is cold, snowing and windy, I will be staying in to finish the Blog Round Up. I got distracted yesterday, watching old movies, and football. ( And yes ALL of my Teams Lost...every last one...oye). We also sat and watched Huckabee's event with Chuck Norris "dancing", it was quite a good laugh.Today I will be investigating the Caucus procedures , since I know nothing, and 6-6 wants to watch the whole process....its sad that he can not Vote, because he is in love with the Process, and has been since he was eight.... He would love to vote for Obama.

I linked the Running on Empty Song, because I am sure there are times that after 7 years of this Regime that it feels like we are running on empty, and I saw some blogs this weekend where people said they were thinking of packing it in. I am asking you to hang in there, HOLD On, because Change is on the way......Have Hope.

Thanks for being here......Stay Warm.

Hey folks....Now if you click the song, you will see Bruce come on stage- and you hear what sounds like Boo-ing...NOPE that is not what it is....it is people yelling "bruuuuuuuce"....( poor 6-6 was horrified- he thought they were boo-ing the Boss....)

You stay warm too. I won't tell you about here (okay I will - it's about 85 degrees every afternoon and the ocean is lovely). Sorry.

Hope you find your mittens. Your heart is obviously warm.

Sorry about the mittens...they could still find their way home. No snow down here in Atlanta but very cold and windy. It is unusual for us to see low twenties and even more rarely teens which is the prediction tonight. The wind is gusting to 35 and 40 mph as well which makes it seem even colder. Stay warm.

Happy New Year,Enigma.I hope you locate the mittens. Mittens are very important to those of us living in cold places, especially when they come with memories.

Lovely image of the snow - lovely painting, actually. You gotta love the Impressionists, they were so out there in their day.

We are about to get five days of rain and high winds. We need the rain, but we sure as shite don't need the winds, as they make the fire areas more vulnerable. Ah, well. Weather.

Snow, boots, gloves... Memories.
Here it is a matter of how little you can wear without being arrested, or just plain offensive. Most here don't seem to mind the offensive unfortunately. Nothing worse than exposed and hairy beer bellies in the check out line.
Hope you find your mittens, little bits of the past are helpful.

So my little kitten has lost her mittens and don't know where they are.

I sincerely hope you find your mittens as I would hate to see you get frost bite.

Her service is Friday night at 7pm and it will just be a service. Thats what her family {daughter & son} decided on.

Thank you for your graciousness in my hour of need.

God Bless you.
PS: Keep those hands in your pockets until you either find your lost mittens or buy a new pair.

Happy New Year E4E!
Let's pray for a healthy and peaceful 2008.
And holy hell... it IS freezing in N.E. Ohio, isn't it??? Sheeesh... I nearly froze my nips off. Hmm... I wonder if that's why they say it is colder than a witch's tit?

Anyhoo... so sorry to hear about the gloves. I once lost a scarf that my dead grandmother made. I was d-e-v-s-t-a-t-e-d for yrs.
I know this will never replace the gloves, but Pier One does sell pretty cool gloves that might help ease the pain.
I'm sending ya e-hugs, plenty of warm e-cocoa, and a pot of steaming e-soup your way!

Let's hope the mittens turn up, if not then they were meant to go away. Is your love life tied to gloves, then maybe a new sweetheart awaits?
Choose your gloves carefully my friend. ; )

We are in for a Pacific Storm this weekend. By the time it gets to us, it will be snow. Joy.

Now about those gloves ... having perpetually cold hands, I have lost & found many over the years. Here are the places I eventually found some of the missing ones:

In the pocket of a coat or shirt or jeans that I SWEAR I was NOT wearing with the gloves.

Behind couch cushions, under my bed, in the dog bed, at the bottom of the laundry bag, jammed under the washer agitator (along with a golf sock that had been missing for months), under the car seat, under the car itself (fell out as I got out of car), in a file cabinet (can't figure that one out), tangled up inside a bedsheet that was neatly folded & put away.

When I lost one of my favorite polartec gloves, I finally tracked it down by retracing my steps & spotting it lying in a neighbor's lawn under an oleander. Must've fallen out of my pocket as I walked the dog. It had been there at least a week & looked like an old dead rat. Nevertheless, I was ecstatic & after washing it several times, I even wore it again.

I bet if you buy yourself a new pair, the old pair will show up. That's the way it always goes. I rec'd a bright purple muffler & gloves for xmas which I may have to lose on purpose because the color looks so godawful with my hair & skin.

Thanks Dk..I did go get a new pair..but I feel disloyal I guess..I know that is so silly...I also know that I need to stop being soooo sentimental over such a thing..oh well....

Ahh, I bet the purple looks great...wonderful...

thanks...
