Monday Morning ::Research and a whole-lotta-iced coffee

"To sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men." Abraham Lincoln

Today I will be gone most of the day, I have to go do Some Intense Research & Work ....and so I might not get back until late. You know there is alot of stuff to ponder below, including a brand New Obama ad that really lays it all on the line with great precision about how the Failed Economy is Directly tied The Damn War ( occupation) , and that THAT War is tied to McCain and Bush. And yes, there is some Soulfood and yes, two posts about the Saddleback Event,including a Post about Compassion, and yes some music, and some humor...Ingrid and Gryphen are still doing an amazing job covering the Georgia Mess.....

You know I look at the children staring at the Statue of Liberty and I think that they came to this country to be free and to enjoy some Peace and to feel included and embraced....not shunned as " Aliens" or perhaps labeled or put on lists because of their names or their religion or their background....Many left Oppressive Countries that did such things...What have WE become as a Country....And how do we get back onto a more Reasoned Path ? And how dangerous is it when someone like McMaverick calls people like us that Blog and Think " Liberal Extremists"....Think about that....As Bloggers we need to keep Asking The Hard Questions.... WE are are ALL we have got.....And it matters now , more than ever.

Natalie Merchant " Which Side Are You On" ( yes it is the Pete Seegar song), is the music today...She used to sing with 10,000 Maniacs...( I pulled the song off the post, put up a different version- I could not look at Dick Cheney every time I went to the Blog..there is not enough TUMS..)

That's why I've broken my silence. Here's the link to my second blog, which I created yesterday to put my political and sports stuff on.

You picture to the kids and the Statue of Liberty brought to mind this picture from 2007. The kids were playing in the water fountains until I pulled out the camera -- then they ran away.

Great Lincoln quote! I had forgotten that one. "Liberal Extremist", I kinda like the ring of that! HEH, I feel like a feedom fighter...

We are freedom fighters. The fascists are trying to subvert our constitution and take over the world. And the U.S. is now the fascist state we fought against. To the ramparts! On to Denver!

some on my street have no idea what a blog is and imagine it to be some sort of online diary. I told some of the people today (as we're sitting outside, incl Maria) that it becomes a discussion (hopefully anyway, you want to spew out your opinions and wonderful insights, but not just into 'thin air' either!)... It's been a great outlet that's for sure and it makes you also think a bit more since people do not always agree plus some have other, very good insights and knowledge..

but anyway..unless you do, you won't know what a 'voice' finds itself out here and thank god for that..

If it weren't for bloggers like us this would already be a police state.

Okay maybe I exaggerated a little, but dammit we would certainly be a poorer, more ignorant nation without so many voice shouting out against the lies and oppression.

And Enigma is definitely one of the great ones.

Gryphen:::
ahhhh thank you for that ....
but I do think that we have kept things better.....mainly because we filled a Void that the MSM abandoned their journalistic intergrity for ....hmmm "Patriotism"....

and yes, it is our way of 'Shouting back"....yup...

Ingrid::
I know there are people down in Texas who dont know- so good for you and the rest of the Austin Posse....so good that you all are down there....
( yeah here in the Lake Erie not everyone blogs or knows what a blog is either....and some laugh at them...I think one day they won't be laughing..)

Bradda:::yup Utah rocks it...and yeah we are so damn extreme...omg...so funny...

Utah:::
here here to the ramparts !!!

DrKnow:::

I'd be very curious to see the results of this research. Perhaps you'll post it on Silent Fallout?

As for McC, well, sticks and stones.

I've been an outspoken critic of Obama not hitting back hard enough in this campaign.

Here's some good news.

Barack Obama may bring a libel suit against Jerome Corsi for his newly-published book, The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality.

The book is filled with accusations and innuendo against the Illinois senator that were long ago proven false — constituting a “reckless disregard for the truth” and grounds for Obama to sue Corsi for libel and defamation, according to a source close to the Obama campaign.

The Obama campaign says the volume is nothing but pure fiction — and malicious fiction, at that.

Chief among Corsi’s accusations: That Obama was raised — and is still — a Muslim and has ties to radical Islamic extremists; that he still secretly uses illegal drugs despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary; and that by attending a “radical black church” in Chicago, he secretly has a “black rage” against white people.

Hi Enigma,
Seems like rather an eclectic post there...
Looking at the how and why all those folks moved from Europe to the Americas, the picture painted is not just of the people who braved the oceans, but within that image lies the fact that the "division of classes" crossed unchallenged.
Those who went, driven out by poverty and unemployment, many were without families, illiterate , with only hope and a few coins, in search of work and a home of their own....
Then there were "old" families, better educated, with wealth, political and social connections, and as far as one might describe them in one word, the "Capitalists".
Understanding only too well the plight of the poor, they went in search of labour, land, power and resources.

Not that the principles of capitalism are that much different back here in "Old Europe".
Excepting that maybe for reasons too complex to list, political and social evolution has brought most of Europe to a somewhat less warlike existence.
Well apart from the Georgians and Poles, Kosovans and Serbs, and a few other "Mad macho monkeys".

Amongst the vehicles that brought about the changes were political parties, tradesmens guilds, trade unions, student unions, community and worker co-operatives,...and most importantly, the feminist and sufragette movements.
Blogging is maybe a new tool to use in the fight for social change.
Peace.

Enigma, I am likewise simply amazed that I would be referred to as an extremist. I'm a working citizen with concerns about my gov't and that makes me extreme? It's so galling, really. And yes I agree with what Gryphen says! I truly think that keeping the dialogue open has kept us from sinking into fascism as quickly as we would otherwise. Think about it: On major news networks, they started quoting bloggers and interviewing them a couple of years ago. We are a force to be reckoned with to some degree anyway.

And Christopher that is excellent news! That's exactly what Obama should do: File suit. Show he can prove that Corsi is a big fat liar.

We're all extremists to the horde of warmongers. I mean how else are they going to cover their arses?

Helen::
we are all doing what the Founding Fathers would say is the right thing- the only thing to do...and that we are trying to save our Country....we need to...and yeah, be a Force to be reckoned with....

and yes Corsi should be sued for Defamation of Character...honestly...

Maria-Maria-
Yup....she is amazing, esp after she left 10,000 Maniacs her sound really grew....( she does play the Austin area I think...)

Lanskr:::
Hey there..you always bring such a nuanced wise perspective..thank you for that...we need that...more than you know....

Christopher::
it does make one just shake their head...doesn't it ? amazing...Corsi should definently be sued- but also we need to as bloggers find out WHO bought those books En Bulk- it would be coup to find out it was McMaverick or his minions...But yes, thank you for the great news...

Fran:::
the Jamica Runners are so amazing..wow...I want Video of the BOLT- he is so awe inspiring...( of course it is not on Youtube....yet)...Hope all is well your way ( the other visitor- troll was removed- sorry about that,...)

Xdell::
sorry friend- it is another kind of research- i do need to open more chapters up of the book- remind me to do that - thanks...I still have a promise to be done with that by Election day( and I am on schedule..)
