    John Edwards: Pot, Meet Kettle.

    "I think this President has shown a remarkable disrespect for his office, for the moral dimensions of leadership, for his friends, for his wife, for his precious daughter. It is breathtaking to me the level to which that disrespect has risen." - John Edwards, quoted by the Raleigh News & Observer in 1999, and passing judgment on Bill Clinton

    The heat here is abated for now and the windows are wide open. I'll put that in the win column.

    Have a good day, Enigma!

    whoa...one lil' thing on Birkin and Gainsbourg and voila..I make 'the list' [g]**.. thanks though. You must've hardly slept.. for some reason I couldn't and did not fall asleep until about 4 am.. at least James brought me coffee to bed at about 9:30sh.. (he slept like a baby and did not know)..told him about the thai coffee..I think I have all of the spices you mentioned so I need to try it out..

    swimming..perhaps I can show my daughter since she's been taking breast stroke swimming lessons (5yr) as that's the first thing you learn in Holland (instead of here where little kids have to learn freestyle and end up swimming crooked and all over the place)..

    Ahhhh breast stoke yeah, good for you..5 is such an amazing age.- that is what I taught my son first ( it's my fav stroke- but the truth is that I was a lifeguard and taught swimming- and I always taught it first- and people did better- that is so true...Maybe I am part Dutch ;-)

    Oh good someone is having Thai coffee..good for you...
    ( sleep...ahhhh.....my headache was back so I stayed up and rewatched the Opening...was trying to figure out parts of it...and they reran it after Conan)

    DCUP:::
    wow....breeze good for you ...yeah open the windows ;-)

    Sandy:::
    Morning Lady- okay I am cleaning today...and yup...gonna do the upstairs closets...the two I have been dreading...son's and *gulp* mine....oh, I will take pics of the beautiful smallest bathroom in the world....( since I finished painting it - I swear it looks biggger- 6-6 says that's the paint fumes talking).

    Christopher:::
    yeah....Johnny just learned the hardest lesson ever...and his own words will now haunt him forever....it's one thing to make a mistake...but another to risk everything...and to risk the public...and well what he did to Elizabeth...that is what really bothers me.....I guess he got high on the ride and high on himself...it happens..but I thought he was better than that....I did read Elizabeths statement ( see below- I linked it)..and she is amazing....it will be awhile before any of us figure it out or make peace with it....

    I am very disappointed in Edwards. I hate being lied to! He has proven true to his profession as a Politician but a paid liar I mean Lawyer. I have no respect for them and he proves why.
    I feel for his wife and kids because of the lesson he has taught them. He has proven to be a worm saying his wife was in remission and he didn't love his mistress. What the hell does that matter? His career should be over!

    yup...I hear you...I don't understand him trying to justify it- like - she was "better" so that gave him permission to go have sex ??? What the....and Oh yeah, that he did not "love " her...so that makes it okay-"it was just 'sex" , not REAL love" Again what the hell? So here is my question is this a Southern Thing? an Narcisstic thing? Lawyer thing? or what ....geez....I mean Elizabeth is a good woman...and to be battling cancer and have him betray her during the battle...and hey new for John- NO ONE ever says that they are "cancer free" UNTIL they hit the 5 year mark....okay I am done grumping about this...I will be for awhile...as I think many of us will be...

    ( Oh and ONE more thing- IF you are Sooooo frigging worried about IT getting OUT to the Press DO NOT GO the Beverly Hilton at 2am- that is One of the Dumbest things I have ever ever heard....)

    I do not understand not being honest or cheating on your spouse. Man he was running for President! Lying seems to be a requirement to be a lawyer also for a politician though I have to hope Obama is an exception.
    Stupid me I thought Edwards was a good moral man. I based my first book on morality during our founding and that we must regain our moral footing if we are to proceed successfully into the 21st century and we are not doing it!
    You guys have a nice weekend!

    see you raise a good point - if he was still just living his life...this would not be such a kick in the head- BUT he was running for president and he KNEW that eventually it would be found out- there was NO way around it...NONE...

    you were not stupid...we all were had...bigtime.......he was ONLY thinking of himself...not his family... not the Party...Malignant Narcissism they call it- and it is very very dangerous....he could have brought down the whole party....the most important election in over 50 years....breathtakingly stupid...

    You have thought it out and what could have happened just blows me away! I am very upset with him and it is worsened by the fact that not thinking and doing what you want and what is right for you not the country or society has become the norm. All right I'll shut up. Take care!

    Patriot:::
    thank heavens it unraveled the way it did...in a way..and if he did use PAC money- well hell- it is best that this get resolved and we move forward....
    I think it will be on our minds or awhile....how could it not be..I also think for some of us that had rooted for him since 2004- that made it even worse....

    6-6" Could have been worse- he could have been a toetapper"...haha...see- made you laugh...

    I am watching the Olympics to distract myself- Beach Volleyballs- tall guys at the net- ( a sport that gets to have music ;-) and swimming- Phelps is amazing....and the Volleyball Player is 6-9...wow...

    I definently needed distraction...don 't we all...???

    That is funny, 6.6 is right! I just feel like such a fool and so betrayed. He better be all done.
    I have to laugh! I am trying to lighten up a bit today too and watching beach volleyball. Latvia is giving them a hard time. Dalhausser (6.9) Started the game late. Saying it was for girls he had to be forced to play at first. He reaches over 11.8 when stuffing. Imagine? Nickname the thin beast i can see why!

    my son loved Thomas...ahhhh and they had great hosts too - Ringo, and I think George Carlin...I loved the train era....

    Patriot::
    wasn't he amazing ??? Did they win- I had to run to the store.....when he goes up he looks like a skycraper...we love rootin for the big guys here...yeah.....

    jmsjoin said...

    Big Guy! Whenever I hear that I see and hear the kid saying it on Witness! I am sorry to say we lost that. I was quite an upset but we are not out. They blew Latvia away last time and every time that happens I expect an upset next time around and that is generally the way it works out!

    enigma4ever said...

    Patriot:::
    huh? you lost me on the Witness part ....but 6-6 is still growing...and is more than 6-6 now- and won't let me measure..so I am pretty sure he might 6-8 or 6-9...( he is built like a football player- but we did watch alot of beach volleyball when we lived in Cali...it is fun...)

    you are right - they will win next round..and this is day one and there are some nerves out there..

    hope you are still round Swimming is on now- BUT the Finals are on tonight...

    You know! The Harrison Ford movie Witness! I was wondering if 6.6 was sports inclined. Having the size is just the beginning as you know. Yes, I expect us to do well, they just did not have it today though. It is tough to watch when things just go wrong!

    enigma4ever said...

    Patriot::
    he is a watcher...watches everything..sports and movies....TLC, reads, Discovery, wants to make movies..so anything that is filmed is scrutinized ....he is amazing at film editing with music..matching frame to frame to music....sports is tricky- his height has really messed up his balance...( the docs say that one day it will even out...I hope so)....and yes, ENigma would have loved it if he played basketball or volleyball- but he watches with me...he used to really be into swimming and boogie boarding when we lived out west...but - now he is just interested in other things....

    Swimming Finals tonight...yahooo

    Having someone with the height and desire and ability to play sports is rare when you think about it. From listening to you 6.6 is exceptional in other ways and will excel at something, filming in some aspect and make you proud. I know that!

    Phelps won his first Gold but isn't it amazing the amount of Thunder storms and rain? It seems like every day for the past month here too me. To me it is natures way of trying to clean the planet and I will shut up! I was talking to my neighbors last night and they said they were able to use the pool twice this year!

    enigma4ever said...

    Patriot::
    yup....he flew threw the water...that was amazing...he is like watching a dolphin when he swims...

    hmmm about the rains...whelp...if it keeps up I will be swimming in the basement- won't have to go anywhere...lol

    I have to laugh! I was watching the swimming pretty intently and was amazed at how much propulsion they have from what looks like normal kicking and everything.
    I can relate to water in the cellar and wish you the best. Let me know how the swimming is Ha Ha!

    enigma4ever said...

    Patriot::
    no worries- I am used to the basement flooding - all the time...it's like a hobby to go down there and sweep now every time I do laundry...

    My son swam for years...and they teach the propulsion and the turns differently than when I swam 20 years ago...it is amazing how much physics is FINALLY being used....( things I used to argue about are now being embraced- it makes me laugh...like using an angle when turning....etc etc...)

    And the Racing Suits- I love them....they look like superheros in them...so slick...such flow...

    Swimming has gotten so scientific! When I was a teen ager in Salem I swam from beach to beach and when they saw me coming people would say here comes the swimmer. I use to swim miles but thought swimming was an accomplishment. Seeing the speeds they achieve today is mind boggling!
    I am in the hills of western Mass and live on a hill but for some strange reason every house on this side of the street gets water so I know what sweeping it out is like but I would be lying if I didn't say my heart sinks when I go down cellar and see water.

    I swam all through my teens and 20's and then when my son was growing up....and I taught him and helped him love it too...although he moved away from it...
    I did ocean swimming..some...some surfing...boogie boarding mostly/sailing..and yes, life guarded and taught swimming and managed a pool to raise money for nursing school and waited tables too...

    I had an awesome butterfly...mediocre breaststroke....
    shitty backstroke- swam crooked ;-0
    and I really value the hours of practice it takes...

    I did make a college team...and promptly went out and broke my arm...shattered it actually- end of Swim career...bingo....so silly really....took years to fix...but ce la vie...for years I worked and then even became a nurse with this crooked arm..and finally got it fixed - an ER patient- a surgeon said" you need that fixed...I said I didn;t know it was fixable" ...meanwhile all those years, working as a nurse, lifegaurding, waiting tables, even rock and ice climning, snowshoeing, and swimming and never ever knew I could get it fixed....it is funny if you think about it....

    okay I have rambled enough...

    It's funny but when you are a kid, younger, or whatever, you think swimming is just human and natural but I would rather wade or lie in it and relax!
