(1) Any of you with Internet Explorer 6 or 7 and Sitemeter will find yourself locked out of your blogs. A suggested fix can be found here:http://anothermonkey.blogspot.com/2008/08/sitemeter-causing-site-errors-in.html, (or you can click the title above) OR as Skippy put it "sitemeter is screwy and if you have sitemeter code on your blog, then it can't be viewed by internet explorer.if you take the code out of your template, the problem is resolved."

Basically it you go to Another Monkey's site over on the Blogroll it is all explained about the sitemeter issue in detail...and that should help....so go to
  • Another Monkey
  • ,
    And Another site is "Another Project Closer, see
  • Another Project Closer

  • (2)Blue Gal is still keeping a list tracking those that are down....and people are looking at Wordpress... so go there to see the List or discuss problems
  • Blue Gal

  • (3) Anyone think this is related to Google and the Olympics and possible site filtering? jus' wondering....
    ( Thank You to these Sources:BlueGal, Case Wagenvoord,Skippy and PoetryMan and Another Monkey)

    E4E, I use firefox as my primary browser and didn't experience this problem. I have to wonder if it is Olympics or politically-related because it seems more than coincidental that several "liberal" blogs were hit. As a computer security professional, I can tell you that most computer "crimes" are committed from the inside, so the idea of that this situation was the work of some wing-nut neocon working for Google is not beyond the pale.

    That any of us would not trust that the scenario that you describe could happen ...well we would have to be pretty damn naive wouldn't we....Big sigh....and another slurp of mylanta...

    Well, it could also be an accidental screw up by some administrator at Blogger/Google applying a code update that didn't work well with Siteminder.. I was just wearin' my conspiracy theory hat..that's all.

    Sorry to hear about the Mylanta slurping..feel better

    hey- no worries- we can share that hat anytime ;-)

    I mean it is not like we have lived through 8 years of hell to be "trusting" right ? and after all under this regime we all know that there is a FINE line between Regular old Incompetence...vs Purposeful Incompetence....

    about the mylanta- no worries- I have been slurping it forever now....I am a Connesiuer of all the best flavors ;-)

    I've been finding this all day, right after my own blog got unlocked (along with numerous others, many of them political). Strange.

    I'm pretty sure this is the result of some "improvements" SiteMeter has been working on for some time. They probably tested everything through FireFox, Linux, and Apple applications, but not through Internet Explorer, since there's a lot of anti-Microsoft/IE prejudice out there. I Can Has Cheezburger recently had a similarly disastrous site improvement.

    (And for Firefox partisans, a large proportion of my traffic is caused by people looking into the js3250.dll Firefox bug, or just searching on the words "Firefox keeps crashing". So there's still a little work to be done there. Once that traffic comes to a halt, I'll reinstall Firefox.)

    Thanks for the link! I'd love to check my Sitemeter right now and see how much traffic this problem is generating...

    I would bet it is generating quite a bit of traffic...I had a bunch of troubles with the New Firefox update this month- so I disabled and am not using....I did not know others were having troubles too...thanks for your helpful info and link....

    XDELL:::
    glad that you are unlocked...good...

    Because of Bush and the lie that everything is a coincidence I just do not trust anything and suspect everything that happens because we are living a lie and it stinks!

    yeah...but isn't it amazing that we still Muddle on through - in spite of The Thuggery and Assholes ? it shows WHO really is Stronger and Wiser ...don't ya think ?

    I was using the latest version of IE and several blogs wouldn't load, one of which was a hockey blog out of Canada. I switched back to Firefox and no problems since.

    RJ:::
    oh, no....not your hockey- that ain't right !!!! I am glad you figured it out...I have an odd feeling that there will be some kinks and filtering due to the Olympics and China and maybe even due to the upcoming elections....I guess we will have to see...everybody have been having different experiences with Firefox right now...

    You know I agree with you! We will stick together and we will persevere. I have to laugh! Growing up my parents beat us routinely and daily to say the least and I had the best childhood ever. What is done to us is their problem. We will be okay!

    enigma4ever said...

    Patriot:::
    well, I am sorry if that was your childhood..yikes...BUT....we can make this better than it is and in spite of the thugs at the helm...now can we vent and gripe about it along the way- you betcha...

    Bradda:::
    excellent...back in biz aren't ya...good...btw it is possible to have IP tracker and NOT have a visible site reader or site meter that interferes with blogger....but glad that things are less troubled over your way....good..

    I told you that was their problem. I had an absolute fairytale ball and as you know, I want to get back to writing about it eventually.
    But yes we will not shut up! Today a few of us discussed the Anthrax lies involving that innocent workers murder I mean suicide.

    enigma4ever said...

    Patriot::
    you will write about it one day....it is only a matter of time....Hmm, about the Anthrax scientist dying....yeah...there is too much there that is not adding up....I think he was set up...( first Hatfield- now this....)this Country needs to clean house...at the Pentagon too...if you know what I mean...have a good night friend...

    jmsjoin said...

    enigma
    Yhep beginning to end we are living a lie as I say too often and we do need to clean house totally this fall except for the likes of Kucinich and Wexler who is right now getting railroaded for speaking the truth. We need it period but that will never happen. All right I'll shut up. Hope you guys have a great day! Go out in your garden sit down, relax, and contemplate!

    enigma4ever said...

    Patriot::
    well,. I think some of the House Cleaning started in 06.....but not enuf..there needs to be more...much more...but there will still be some rats left...that is the way of it....but you know alot are gone....
    we should make a list....

    jmsjoin said...

    enigma
    You are right we should make a list. It would be a lot quicker to make a list of those that should stay.
    Wexler, Kucinich, and Kennedy. You can tell me of others but those are the only 3 that come to my little mind!
