Then It was Tuesday....

"If you don't like something change it; if you can't change it, change the way you think about it".

Okay, back to the Research today...so I will be in and out...But there is plenty to peruse down below- articles to thoughtfood.I am contemplating some big changes for 6-6 and I and I need to have some time and space to do it...and yes, Research......
Contemplating a Big Change is really like staring at the Backside of of Huge Pachyderm that is standing in one's living room blocking the door...and if it would just turn around so I could look at it and know if I should get on board for a ride or leave the room and go elsewhere ? I don't think I can leave it be at this point in time....

Okay now that I have totally confused you....I will just give you some wisdom and some music....Have a good Tuesday.

Hi E~ As the song goes-- Change~ can do you good. It's not easy, heading off into unknowns. Having to uproot & regroup- but sometimes- it's exactly what needs to happen.
Change is the one thing in life we can count on.
I know you have not been able to find work- as a licensed Nurse, that's insane! Some medical facility somewhere could use a gem like yourself and give you fair compensation as well as a decent benefits package- mostly health insurance.

I know your son is looking for a college with special programs as well.

Carpe Diem!

I hope you get into a better situation, and everything comes into place even better than you had imagined.

Glad you are doing yur homework & hope you are visualizing yourselves in a better place too. They say the power of positive thinking makes a differeence.

I'm thinkin' good thoughts for you.

Well Ladies...
Thank you...Yes, I am an old Registered Nurse...and I am trying to look at different States and establish Residency so 6-6 can go to his dream school...( You all are so smart...that you figured this all out already...)

Here in the Dying Ctown it is only PT work- at crappy pay that is what I was making 20 years ago ( and I wish I was joking...)There are NO jobs with Beni's - and yes I have been told to my face that I "cost too much because of being a 20 year nurse"...another place would not hire me because I had more experience than the D.o.N......soooooo
yes, I am researching different parts of the Country....and the costs etc...I am only looking at BIG areas with high Nurse Jobs...and places where Nurses are still valued ....( not here....research already revealed that here is not an option...which is fine - it does not have the film school that 6-6 needs)....

OMG!! Get this, Enigma: Last month I went on vaca to Ashland, Oregon to see my sis in the Shakespeare thing their town revolves around. And we were swimming at a lake and I started chatting with a woman who had her kids swimming there. And she told me that medical jobs are HUGE there - in fact, she said that other jobs were hard to get but not medical!!

It is BEAUTIFUL there and I think Oregon has low property taxes. Look into it, I think you'll be very pleased. Lots of great wildlife and a fantastic school system as well.

The same could be said for "space" I suppose...

tooo funny..thank you for that thought..Oregon- all of it is indeed very beautiful....6-6 and I did the West Coast thing ( ah yes that Bohemian thing...) I loved the NW more than anything ( okay the Cali Coast is a very close 2nd...) BUT...we moved East..so for now I think I am not going back to the NW- this sounds snotty- but I need better pay than Oregon..and most imp. I need a good Film School area for 6-6...BUT thank you so much for thinking of us...NOW I am also suggesting that you and your Sis meet up at B& B on the Coast- called Sylvia Beach Hotel it is near Newport- it is a Beautiful spot and the best place to stay- email me- I will give you better info.....

TPM::
hey there...I am thinking of how to get to the right place for 6-6....it's not really about me....gotta be able to make his future better- and working making what I made 20 years ago- is not good enough...there are also not good enough film schools here.....

but I always appreciate your wisdom..always ;-)

There's no place like metro Seattle, IMHO and I say this as a native Californian.

But, like the rest of the spectacular west coast, Seattle's home prices have become so expensive that it's science fiction.

I remember recently reading an article in the Seattle PI titled, "The Disappearing $400,000 House."

I think the authors of the article found fewer than 20 and they were shacks. It's so depressing, or we would be moving there in January.

Carly that's you! Anyway, adapt overcome and move forward I always say. Massachusetts by the way is a superb State for nurses and education of every kind. Good luck!

Hey enigma, check out the Boston area. It's a great city and the surronding suburbs are quite nice if you can handle winter. As far as I could tell there were tons of hospitals and whatnot around the area. That's all I got for ya ;)

Decisions are best made by oneself or in the company of good friends. Know yourself and the rest is easy, although it isn't really always easy, is it?

I look forward to it!!

You guys are so wonderful...and I do indeed miss the NW, I lived in Seattle and the NW for many years...and then Cali.......but I am very much looking on the East Coast...DC...Boston....and yes, Austin is on the list too..and yes..Florida..and yes NY...

Now the thing about me...I make huge charts and lists..and I research it all Libraries, to Coffee shope to Jobs and $$$$, and cost of living and housing ( rentals costs) and yes Schools for 6-6....that is critical - and that I have a job to pay for whereever his heart wants to be....but it requires lots of long walks....much Library time..( cuz I think better there...here I get distracted...)

And yes....I am weighing it all...I will put you all in my pocket where ever I go ;-)

And then of course 6-6 and I sit down every eve and talk it out....cuz he is my co-pilot on this very important mission....so his input and untuition is critical....

But thank you all so much you have kept my spirits up and my energies focused....

many hugs....

hmmm, I was thinking the backside of the huge pachyderm you mentioned blocking the door was Dick Cheney!

Whatever you decide will be best for you, I'm hoping it goes easy. Some changes are so easy, afterwards you find yourself saying, why didn't I do that a long time ago. That's the experience I'm hoping for you.

All good wishes and hugs to you. Great quotes and song. I've always liked the "itsy bitsy spider" who shows up in Carly's song. Resilient. Like you, Enigma.

Border E....
ahhhhh thanks...I love this song...when ever I have to contemplate Big Changes I listen to alot of Carly....she seems to set my head straight...and this video is so sweet- both Sally and Ben sing in it- which is so touching now that they are grown....this was her first concert in many years 1987 after a rocky divorce from James.....and you can tell she finally feels better ( and btw she is in her 40's in this video- looking so hot....) I will get through this....and come up with a plan....as I dig and research I know that I am on the right path;...( data is so calming you know ;-)

{{{I will be over to see everyone tomoroow...taking a break tomorrow...for a couple of hours...I know by Friday I will have my plan ready....}}}

Many many hugs lady...

enigma, I grew up in Florida. You do NOT want to live in Florida! The collander of the country, all the bad stuff is sifted into that state...
