We have Jon Stewart, the Sixties had the Smothers Brothers, they were smart and political, and Nixon hated them....Click the Title

I am reading Stever Martin's book, "Born Standing Up", and he explains what the Sixties and the Seventies were really like, and how the Humor really helped fight the Vietnam War....really amazing...

Wow Enigma you have really tapped into some of my favorite iconic figures of the sixties and seventies.

I loved the Smothers Brothers! Getting to stay up late and watch that show is one of my most cherished memories.

And then you have the post below of the great Steve Martin and I am completely blown away. I had Steve's comedy album when I was a teenager and played the silly thing constantly.

Thanks for the walk down memory lane Enigma.

SOOOOOOoooooo...good that you are enjoying this...
see here is the thing- I am reading Steve Martin's Book"Born Standing Up"....and he was a writer for Smothers Brothers- and did some bit pieces for them too...( somehow that really all makes sense doesn't it?)....

And Martin wisely points out how many of our Great Comedians have played such a part in our History...esp the politics....and Bad Leaders...it is interestingly so true....

Enjoy :-)
