Is it time to use the "D" Word ?? MSNBC asks it ....finally.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don't know why no one else has started asking this Question ? How long does a Recession last or deepen before anyone asks the Truth ? And Why is no one pointing out that the Iraq Mess might have cost too much ? for Everyone.....And I do hope people realize that Bush did this...and should be held responsible...Bush NEVER ever ran a successful business....remember Arbusto ? or Harken ? yeah...Daddy Bush had to come bail him out.....this time there is NO Daddy to Bail Out Bush's mess.....
But on another note I do wonder when we will see the Swiss Bank Account List....is the Carlyle Group on it ? Bush and His Daddy ? Dick Potter Cheney ? and how many of the Bailed Out CEO' and other Crooks ( like Sanford? Maddoff ? Lewis of BAC..????)
It is time for the Media to report more on what is really happening to Real People...like More Foodbank Stories, etc. Please do write to them and tell them that....ALL the media. It is not right that Wallstreet Whining gets hours of Airplay yet, my neighbors being evicted and losing jobs gets Silence......This Economic Situation got personal for Many Folks many months ago.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I live in a hood where I can not even count the number of foreclosed homes that sit empty, where families sleep in their cars, where elderly folks use change to buy soup, where Phd's and nurses ( new grads and old) are jobless and living on the edge, where teachers have been laid off, where no one I know has Healthcare ( much less "insurance")......
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"This is Not America"?...David Bowie, video I made with Mandt about What is America right now....( please share it).
WRITE to the Media Make them report The Truth, interview Food Banks, Unemployed, SHOW the Joblines.....Report What We The People are going through.....Everyday...Right Here..Right Now.
Me thinks you expect too much...lol
I just don't know if they can tell us the truth like that... or if it will be like in the movie.. We can't handle the truth...sometimes I am not sure we can.
I think there is so much about Bush we will never know.. and maybe no one never will... and it might be a good thing. I just don't know.
I want to know the truth. And it's a Depression, and if there is anything I know something about it's depression.
Sorry I've been absent so long, but I'm back.
hey there....no worries...I have not been visting blogs enough...just struggling to keep my head above water...I am sorry...and yes....I know you understand Depression...I just think that we do need to be honest about how bad this is economically.....some folks are like "the doom and gloom " people are wrong...but I don't think we are...we are real...we see what is around us...This Economic Situation is not going to be solved quickly or soon...and alot of people, good people are hurting...and their pain needs to be acknowledged and comfort, compassion and empathy need to be offered...we all need to take care of each other...
I am so glad to see you...have missed you...your wisdom and insights...
ahhh yes......there is much about bush we will never know...but I think we will learn what we need to learn...I hope....do we need a truth commission ? or a special prosecutor ? I don't know...but I know there must be justice- and yes, Bush has a lot to do with all of us being economically raped and pillaged....
Last night, I saw a family, mom, dad, two kids sitting on the curb outside Trader Joe's with a sign that said they were living in a motel and they needed help. Any help. I bought them a carton of milk and a bunch of bananas. Totally inadequate. The guy said he'd lost his job and they were evicted from their apartment.
This afternoon, that spot had been taken by a homeless guy who said he was disabled.
What the hell kind of country is this....?
Unlike the term recession a depression has no concrete set of variables that have to be met in order for someone to say the recession has slid to depression.
I think we went into a depression when I watched nine of my neighbors thrown out of their homes in three weeks.
Actually, I wish the media had been covering this all along. After the first shock in the 80's we started getting used to the idea of homeless people. They've been there since Reagan's day. Fewer maybe during the Clinton years, but the safety net remained shredded. There's just a lot more now and it's encroaching more deeply into the working/middle class. Working poor around here have been in danger of it for a long time. That's why some of them tried to buy those houses they "couldn't afford". Renting was such an unstable situation.
That's the problem with our media.. they are so focused on Wall Street and the money they think they are losing and are so afraid their taxes might go up a few dollars in 2 years they can't report the real news.
They can't see what we the real people are feeling and seeing. Even if you push them it seems like we are being ignored. I don't know what it will take to get through to them... all they can talk about is Cramer and his rant about the Stock Market and then Rush Limbaugh... I could care less about either of them.
