Rep.Grayson got it right damnit... Let's be real..People are Dying Without Healthcare...

Here on this blog, I have posted the Numbers over and over. Numbers that represent Real People that are effected by our HealthCare Crisis I will post them again in this post. The reason that Grayson said what he said was that he read the Harvard Study about 45,000 dying per year with Inadequate Health Care and Insurance. (( He was on CNN in the "Situation Room" explaining what he thinks of the Repugs, video is posted down below.))

(1) Originally in August I found research that Kaiser and Urban Institute stated that up to 22,000 Per year are Dying with No Health Insurance and inadequate care. The Truth is that the Insurance Companies ARE the Death Panels dictating Care, and cancelling care and treatments. Early September NYT published the Harvard Study that said that more than 45,000 are dying per year.

Here is the NYT Article about the Harvard Study of ALL the People Dying per year with Inadequate care and healthcare insurance....45,000 a year is alot of people. That is 123 people a day, and 6 an hour....that is alot. Think of it this way, every 12 Minutes Someone is Dying Without Healthcare....

(2) 500,000 People/a year are fighting Cancer without enough care, after their Insurance is cancelling or capping Care and Treatments.( Cancer Organizations verified these numbers). These same people are losing Homes for Care and going Bankrupt. 62% of ALL Bankruptcies are related to Medical Debt, it is the Leading Cause of Bankruptcy.

When President Obama has spoken about the Healthcare Crisis, he has admitted that 30 Million have been Cancelled by Insurance Companies. It is a Civil Rights Issue, people being cancelled for their own History or Health are being denied Care, that is Discrimination. Millions of people denied care and now at risk of Dying Young and dying without Care. Have we lost Our Moral Compass ?

A Democrat with backbone? Did hell freeze over?
The guys a real fighter.
Here he is questioning CEO ED Libby on the AIG coverup
As one can see he has his own channel.
When called to apologize for his comments, Rep. Grayson citing a Harvard study that estimates 44,000 Americans die every year because they don’t have health insurance, said: “I apologize to the dead and their families that we haven’t voted sooner to end this holocaust in America.”

FROM Media Matters::::

Lack of health insurance leads to 45,000 excess deaths annually

A new study shows that a lack of health insurance is associated with nearly 45,000 deaths in the United States each year -- or one death every 12 minutes.

Researchers conducted a survival analysis with data from the Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey and analyzed participants aged 17 to 64 years to determine whether uninsurance at the time of interview predicted death. After adjusting for age, gender, education, employment status, smoking and other factors, the authors found that lack of health insurance causes 44,789 deaths each year.

The number of excess deaths is nearly two-and-a-half times greater than previous estimates by the Institute of Medicine, which were based on older studies.

Thank you for the citation. I can't blog as much as I like to, but I'm riding high tonight!

I don't understand how Republicans can say they are "pro Life" and still block any meaningful Health Care reform.

Now I'm gonna watch the "apology" link.
Peace.

Damn!!!. He gave the facts and showed both sides of the aisle that he ain't backing down!

I do want to thank Grayson. Thanks for posting that info.

You know there was a lot of cheering at our house as we watched him on TV today.

I didn't even notice he had used the word holocaust until some on left pointed it out. They are saying that word should only apply to the WW2 Holocaust. I disagree; it is a legitimate word that does not only refer the most famous incident.

People will die from this legislation...it's a fact and they already are...

it's true....

it's Criminal if we think about it....and there will be alot of deathes because of dems and repugs that enabled the Health Insurance Companies to set up their own death panels..that is what has happened....

Milliions and Millions without Health Care or Insurance....

I don't want to die young because of this...but I know I will...

I hope that you don't. We need good people like you in this world.

I called all of Rep. Grayson's offices. Evidently my carrier won't let me hookup w/866 #s. And the DC office is always busy for some reason :)
I did get through to the Orlando office and spoke to a nice young man. When I said that I was thankful that at least 1 Democrat has a backbone he said,
"Surprising huh? It's about time isn't it"? I agreed and said, "I bet most calls are supportive". His reply was, "Up until yesterday most were, but today it's mixed and the phones been ringing off the hook".

Every Lil Bit helps.
Peace.

Thanks for the hard work you do getting these facts about our screwed up health care system out to the public. Getting sick is so beyond anyone's ability to control.

I LOVE IT !!!!!

We need someone to rant & rave & call out the bullshit.
