I heard this today. One of those cops ended up firing 31 of those shots. That is definitely over kill.I refuse to believe he got away with that. Everything aside it really concerns me for the future. Are we in trouble!

PATRIOT:
I think that this is happening in this country is very concerning...is it a Police State ?

It's impossible to get a jury to convict a cop.

It doesn't matter if the jury is empaneled in Waco, TX, or NYC, NY.

For reasons that escape me, the people who sit on a jury seem to feel the need to accord cops special rights and privileges that the rest of us can only dream of.

I could tell you stories of the things I've seen cops do and I am not talking hearsay.

I know that it would be expecting ALOT to expect Justice from a Judge or a Jury...
Sadly I too have Stories from living in a Milltown in the NW.....

I think that it will come down to the Justice Dept and Civil Rights Charges....

BUT it will keep happening.....because NO Judge takes a stand...and the cycle continues...on and on...

In my opinion Barack needs to stay away from this situation.

I know that seems insensitive but if he comments on it he is in danger of being grouped with Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson as a person who comes out to condemn violence against black people, while pointing the finger of blame toward the white establishment.

The MSM and the Republicans want to define Obama as JUST the black candidate to lessen his appeal and he must remain a figure that can be accepted by all sides as truly representing them.

Having said that I, as a white male, found that verdict appalling.

This is not a presidential issue , per say...BUT is an issue about Justice and Accountability...and also how Fearmongering has created a Climate where Police are given False Powers.....and Justice becomes Clouded....and Violence becomes the Solution....

As a Person...I too found the damn verdict appalling...
sick...

I am sure that the New Yorkers will have their say and Voice their concerns and angst first....

( If Hillary wants to weigh in- as it is HER -cough- state...that is her choice...)

Okay so I have been doing some more reading....I don' understand at all what happened...at the Scene or on the stand...NONE of the stories match....so will we ever know the truth? were there surveillance cameras there - since the strip club was known for trouble ? I thought if I read more I would understand what went wrong ? nope....

I also worry that alot of the judgement was made about the actual club not about the events or the men involved....the club had a bad rep- therefore trouble happened...( the Homer Simpson Defense ? "Mistakes were made "...)

I hear you Enigma.

My point about Barack was that I kind of worry that with this in the news some reporter will ask him for his take, and when he responds the Repubs and Hillary will use it to further identify him with historically black issues and pigeonhole him. It is an easy trap for him to fall into since I am sure that like us he has a very strong opinion on the matter.

I hear you too....and I too worry - since he is doing Focks this weekend...BUT I am curious it is Hill's state- will she say a damn word about it.....ahhhh nope.....

Those in law enforcement take care of their own just as the corrupt Repugs defend the corruption of their own.

enigma it is very disturbing and we are a police State that will get much worse. Something has to be done.
I am happy to say I hear from his son daily but I got an E from the relentless Liberal and he is getting it. He has the money, knowledge, base, clout, and experience, to get something done. YeeHa!

The thing about this case is, the defendants waived their right to a jury - they were judged by a single judge. I don't think this should be allowed - the jury system might have worked against them in this case; there might have been more sympathy for the victim if there had been a jury. I don't think juries are just for the defendant's sake, they're for the people as well.

What gets me is, this judge didn't even give the cops "Reckless endangerment." Firing 50 shots (one of which went into the subway) on a public street isn't reckless endangerment? Please...
