That total immunity verbiage will give me nightmares. I can't help but think they are trying to pull off some major financial blunder that is illegal & can be taken to court .

The expression on Bush's face...... creepy.

These guys have something up their sleeve.

I fel like there should be NO hurry, they shouod not rush to a quick decision (congress is poised to take vacation after this week) too damned bad-- take extra time & figure out a good, well thought out solution, with the best financial genius minds.

Obviously NOT the current people in charge!

My guess is, in an election year, the Democratic majority will scream and shout and stomp their feet but, when it's time to vote they will bend over -- just as they always have, and give Bush exactly what he wants.

I no longer ask what will it take to wake up the American people. There seems to be no amount of abuse we will take as a nation and as a people before we revolt and tear this mess down.

The American people, despite all our guns, our embrace of violent sports, and hubris, are really passive, malleable little creatures, afraid to stand up to the power elites.

Good point, Christopher. We talk a good game but when it comes down to it, most Americans are really just cowards.

Of course, with a little leadership and organization, those of us who aren't acting out of cowardice but just need direction could really make a difference. Where's that leader?
