ONE WAY OR ANOTHER

Okay Enigma Cafe here it is Sunday Afternoon March 26th, the coffee will be cold, scones burnt, and bagels maybe even stale. But please do talk amoung yourselves, even while the distracted Barista spills and dawdles. I am totally absorbed by March Madness. For years I have rooted for smaller Unknown Hardly Noticed Teams, and Finally they are Kicking Bigger Teams ass...Which means for the first time in Years I have teams to root for in the Elite Eight and the Final Four. I am totally heartbroken that two of my Favorites are playing each other LSU vs UCLA...Ouch.

(SUNDAY BLOG ROUND UP later tonight.)

Well, atleast I have teams to root for for, One Way or Another.

Go Red Wings!

I'm with you, e, on Geo. Mason beating UConn!

I've had two teams go down I was really pulling for; the BC Eagles and of course U. Dub. -- trying not to get sucked back in!

...must...resist...madness...must...use...super...powers...

Oh, come on Mel- GM totally rocked ( That was an incredible OT)
..and yes, I too am in mourning, I mean Villanova vs Boston College ( two teams again that I rooted for ended up facing off against each other).... But I can't stand the Gators, so I now Have to root for Villanova...

Can this be UCLA's year? Not a single One Seed left. The downside is that my Bruins play the most boring offense since they took the bottom out of the peach basket.

Amen on getting help and backup for Feingold. And not just encouragement for him, but email blast the cowards that hide like roaches in bright light. The only thing that MIGHT give them a nudge is the elections coming up.God knows they fear losing their cushy, powerful, lucrative posts - unless they score a job lobbying afterwards.

I enjoy the enthusiasm of basketball fans, but I'm with Granny; baseball is my game. However, it seems like all my favorite players have been traded to someone else. And our beloved Astros - I've been reared better than to actually state our opinion of their owner, ole D.Mc. Grrr! He shouldn't own a flea circus.

enigma4ever said...

GOTH: Hey there...yup George Mason done good...

RJB: thanks for coming by Hmm, I have a dilemma- UCLA vs LSU....???

WA: yup..Baseball soon enough..but who to root for???

Hey enigma both teams are good and it is good to see new one's taking the lead on who to root for that is a tough one,,,,hey how about both we can't lose?

i never was an ncaa bax ket ball fan. don't know why uconn is everywhere here (well, small state).

one of my favorite bumper stickers was;

uconn where men are men AND WOMEN ARE CHAMPIONS

(THEY still have a chance)

oh and i see jen rizotti quite a bit. she coaches at u of hartford now

so enigma, it was YOU who put the whammy on that last-second 3 point shot by my "boys" from Connecticut!!! were you screaming at GMU to seal off the baseline to take away that sweet move that tied the game in regulation???

UConn may be a perennial basketball power now, and an easy target, but they used to be a little, unknown team in the early '90's and they gave more than a few spirited performances this year...IMO, Coach K (Duke) or Ray Williams (NC) will never turn out the quality of men that Jim Calhoun does...

My teams are out. I'm done watching basket ball this year.

enigma4ever said...

WINDSPIKE: I am so sorry you teams are out- hey- but wait aren't you our California Dreaming Guy??? What is is this- you aren't gonna be arooting for UCLA ????

MAINE FRIEND : I confess I confess, it was me, I was yelling at the TV, and the neighbors were just relieved I wasn't yelling at CSpan ( at the Democrats to find their damn balls), or telling the King (to shut the Fuck Up !!!)....and yes that was a Glorious move that sealed the drive to OT.....The Little Team that Could....

ROSE: I love the Bumper Sticker...awesome...

FLOYD: ( I know you were rooting for Kentucky- I was so bummed when they got bumped- I always root for them- always...) Hmm, you are right UCLA or LSU- ALL GOOD.....now if the Gators limp off the Court I will be so happy.....( they beat my Villanova pick, sniff, sniff...)...

It's Monday Afternoon I am still recovering...

Anonymous said...

alright, enigma, i'll overlook a soft spot in your heart for "perennial power" Kentucky, because of your roots, but (chortle, snicker, guffaw) they were bumped off by UConn...

BUT HOW in the world can you put "perennial power" UCLA on your list of favorites??? they were akin to the damned Yankees in their time, always winning with unstoppable talent like Kareem and Bill Walton (i confess, i like Walton, a Dead-Head of any size is a good person)

I can't possibly root for GMU, the spoilers, so I'll take LSU and that 300-lb ballerina guy at center! (with the rubber-band man (Tyrus Thomas) coming out of nowhere to block shots)

enigma4ever said...

MAINE FRIEND: Okay..I continue to offer my respectful sympathies ( hehehehe) about GM...but I think LSU indeed be the Team to root for ( esp. with the Baby Shaq )...Hey I lived on the West Coast for many years ( and I hate to say this- there are just not enough Real Teams out there to root for, hence I got into the habit of rooting for UCLA..and Gonzaga...)..and yes after UConn beat Kentucky ( sniff sniff) I was not lovin' them....hmmm, maybe we should sweeten the deal here???

( I keep expecting Rex Danger Seeker to show up and gloat about those damn Gators...)

Go LSU! Oh! Wait! Is this basketball or wicket?

You recently had a visit from my ex-wife Enigma. I noticed on my site meter that she left my site and went to yours after reading your comments.

Jealous bitch! She is just jealous of our intellectiual love affair.

Gryphen said...

And look who can't spell "intellectual".

Unknown said...

Well at least DUKE is out but I would be happy if LSU or UCLA wins,on Kentuky well it is sad it is not back in the glory years but LSU has really proved themselves worthy but so has UCLA so it is hard to choose who to really root for. So if we align ourselves to both hence we can not lose.

enigma4ever said...

FLOYD: YUP..LOVE TO SEE DUKE GET BUMPED OFF. AND LSU HAS OWN MY HEART....( and I miss Kentucky...)

GRYPHEN: Hmm, well, ahem I see that maybe we might have a little scandel eh??? hmm, ME? Intellectual ???!!!oh, that is tooooo funny...the hippy woman with Virtual ( aka imaginary ) fellas to visit in Blogland....I am still laughing...

( she doesn't live in Ohio right???)

Kathleen Callon said...

UCONN is my home team, and I'm very depressed.

now, now, gryphen, let's not be overly condemning of our exes, it's a slippery slope that can poison one's outlook...some cynicism is not unwarranted, however...i am reminded of this lyric by Dylan...

I'm gonna let you pass I'll go last
and time will tell just who has fell and who's been left behind
when you go your way and I go mine

- "most likely you'll go your way and I'll go mine" (Blonde on Blonde)

enigma4ever said...

KAT: so sorry ...so sorry...

Maine Friend: hmm, beware of cynical EX's ??? hmmm....I would like to know if Gryphen's gal is still around...I would offer her a cup of coffee...but probally not a seat at the Counter ( if you know what I mean...) Thanks for bringing the Dylan...maybe we need a Music Night...or Poetry Slam...
thanks for coming by- now go see Gryphen ( Immoral Minority) , that Alaska Fella should meet the Maine Fella...
besides he has a Great Blog...

I actually have two exes, which probably says more bout me then it does them.

I am by my own definition a difficult person to live with. I am not abusive or mean, I just tend to be reclusive and somewhat of an obsessive about certain things.(Like politics)

But I really tried this time and was asked to make a choice, both unfair and designed to make me appear to not care about my wife. So I am allowed a little bitterness. Just a little.

enigma4ever said...

Gryphen: I sent you an email...no worries...You are not difficult--- we love ya' ....and yeah Maine Friend was being "sarcastic"....you can be as bitter as you want...I will still put the coffee on and serve you my best muffins...( whlep, the ones that I haven't burned ;-)

gryphen, private e-mail sent as well...we are very similar in our self-observations...

Hey nurse, what the hell you doing up at 4:00 AM? Don't you know you need your rest? AND where have you been since March 25. Here it is ten or eleven days later and you are nowhere to be seen.

You want to stop the war don't you? Well, come on, post some wisdom and poetry that will help save the planet, toss a monkey wrench into The King's world, send a message of peace and love rippling forth into cyberspace.

A lot is happening. We aint gonna save the Republic with you sitting around with your thumb in your ear.

Newsguy, please check out Enigma's post above this one, the one with the picture of the sinkhole. Look in her comment section, a message from Enigma on 4/3/06 to be precise. Ahhh now, all is clear! D.K.
