The 99 Report Radio Show Returns Today with Guests Lee Camp, Joey Kirkman, and Col.Barry Wingard

Today’s Show Returns to Blogtalkradio at 3PM and I will be adding the Links and the Audio clip to this post later in the day.

Today’s Show has three amazing guests. At the start of the show we will hear from Lee Camp about his ongoing Moments of Clarity, and his Tour and his new smash CD “Pepperspraying the Tears Away”. Do see more at his website www.LeeCamp.net.

Our second guest is Joey Kirkman who will be sharing his amazing Healthcare story, as well as telling us about his radio show down in North Carolina and his new non-profit. A tax practitioner by trade, part-time tour manager and full-time antagonists on the international show, Bully the Bullies, Joey spends most of his free time combating religious fundamentalism and enjoying time with his children. He is currently co-authoring a book with J.D. Shapiro, who wrote Robinhood – Men in Tights, about the harms caused by religious fundamentalism. Joey has managed comedy tours across the country with different entertainment companies and is the founder of Be the Miracle Network – a secular non-profit committed to activism. You can hear him confronting religious fundamentalism bi-weekly.

( There are three articles that explain this ongoing evolving situation that bears more watchful scrutiny and that I will be adding to this post). You can also read more at Barry’s Facebook page. I also recommend that you look for updates from Jason Leopold of Truthout as well as updates from Andy Worthington.

And finally we have Col.Barry Wingard who will be sharing the latest regarding his representation of prisoners at Guantanamo. There are developments to share as there have been Charges dropped against the Kuwaiti Fayiz, which is raising many questions and discussion as to what happens next for the Kuwaitis at GITMO.

( Please note I am trying to set up a New Blog/website for the 99 Report as there are ongoing problems with Blogger, so I will be adding the Links and photos and audio files during the day to both sites. Please bear with me while I make this transition. Blogger’s Layout has changed and links no longer work,. so this is an important change that I need to make to improve the show.)

As an RN :The HCR Battle at this Moment,and Where I stand.

"The work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives and the dreams shall never die." ~Senator Teddy Kennedy #hcr
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
{{ Please do scroll down :HCR updates and Videos, including Dean's Video 12.15}}
Over the past few days I have gotten many emails and messages from Twitterland and Blogland asking What do I see the Fate of this HCR Bill and Healthcare Reform at this point. First I am a Nurse of 20+ years and I am UnInsured, which means that I have a perspective that is not always Politically Driven or Calculated. I have always blogged how the Events and Politics impacts our lives. I also have a son, so I look at this Reform measure as an important issue for his future and the next generations, to provide for their physical health but also their economic health. All that being said, I do recognize that we are at Critical Juncture and that many Wise Entities are Abandoning the HCR in all forms, and that there is much tension as to how to proceed and WHO and WHAT to Support.Please read Entire Post to Understand and Hear my position and it may help you in your Thought Process.
After reading ALL the Bills that have now led to the Formation of the Current Senate Bill that is now being Backroom Brokered, I do have some concerns, and hope over next few days to have more Information to better evaluate the Following:
Current Concerns & Facts as an RN re :Current Senate Bill
(1) WHO and HOW MANY will indeed be offered access to Health Care and Health Insurance. We currently have over 50 Million UnInsured, (47 Million based on 2007 Census Numbers,and 6.6 Newly UnEmployed this past year during Economic Plunge). We have atleast 30 Million UnInsured due to Preexisting Conditions. 17,000 Are losing Health Insurance and Care a Day. 112 Are dying per day without care. According to Harvard 45-47,000 are dying per year without proper or adequate Health Care. The Numbers justify a Crisis and Timely Action. But as this Current Senate Bill has been Whittling and Chopping away the Medicare Buy In and the Public Option, we need to know what is going to Available and Affordable and truly accessible. And that Question has not been answered.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(2) The High Risk Pools to be Created offer more questions. WHO will be in the Pools and how will their care be cost ratioed ? Supposedly according to the Current 2000 page bill the Pools will be available to People who have been refused and denied care due to pre-existing conditions. BUT it also categorizes AGE as a High Risk Factor and allows people to be basically fined higher fees for their age- it is treated as a "RISK". I worry that some of this language about risk means that People are being Insured as if they are Clunkers. And the one thing that could have been placed there is Rate Control for UnEmployed and Low Income, Poverty and Economic Distress are not acknowledged in this Senate Bill. The Economic Factor should have been embraced and Sliding Scales set up to Lesson Hardship and Improve Access. While for months UnInsured have been Reminded Daily that they are Costing TOO much, there has been Nothing addresses Cost Controls for Coverage to Working Poor, Middle Class or Lower Middle Class Working Families.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(3)Big Pharma is still controlling Costs and this means that many people will still be choosing between Meds and Meals. Please See Gotta Laff Post Below, scroll down. It is a valuable post to read, especially as this Current Senate Bill does Nothing to Protect Patients as they try to pay for meds every month.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(4) About the Outlawing of Pre-Existing Conditions, to provide care to those with such disease statuses, it remains unclear and very muddied in ALL the Legislation about WHO will Monitor and ENFORCE and Protect the People who have suffered Discrimination and inability to access Affordable Care. WHICH agency ? Because as it is now there is NO agency to protect Patients as they attempt to get care. DHHS seems to be struggling to handle current workload with even the H1N1 epidemic. And Secretary Sebelius has been less than effective speaking or engaging in HCR in a Leadership role.

(I also think that at some point that Decrimination against People that are ill AND denying care is Criminal, but it is is also a Civil Rights Issue, but that is an issue that this HCR will never fully address, but this bill atleast opens the issue up for scrutiny,as well as issues concerning Rescinded care.)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(5) The Concern that is most worrisome and that has gotten the least MSM coverage is the that the Proposed Bill when it went to the Backrooms Suddenly Inserted a NEW Clause regarding CAPS on Care per year and Lifetime that will post HUGE risks and Calamity for Families coping with and caring for those with Chronic Longterm devastating Illnesses. There is NO protection for them and indeed they may face Hardship and Failure of Care, and that this was done in such a Dark Secretive Fashion is deplorable.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(6) Dr.Dean in the video below raises many valid concerns when says to Kill the Bill, and I really do share many of them. I also know that Dean has Given Up on things Sometimes Pre-maturely. And yes, I am talking about 2004, for many of us that worked on his campaign and believed in him, there was concern he left the Presidential Race too early.( Please know I am saying that as someone who truly believes and trusts his wisdom). I also know that as a Nurse, well, let's just put it this way, he would not be the First Doctor that I did not support ALL 100% of the time. I am glad he spoke up, but as a Nurse and as a Liberal I don't think it is Time to "Kill the Bill".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(7) Another issue that has barely been mentioned is that the Original Baucus Bill, and this bill to a lesser degree would have fines imposed for the people that remain UnInsured or don't have care.But if it is indeed due to income or poverty issues there should be no Fines, or punitive action of fines and penalties.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Those are my most pressing Concerns and Worries as an RN. Now that Many Progressives and Progressive Leaders bravely Spoke out yesterday stating to "Kill the Bill", it would be easy, even comforting to join them in stepping away from Bad Weakened Even Questionable Legislation. BUT....and it is a HUGE BUT.
I currently view the HCR Bill -Senate Version as indeed a VERY sick Patient, Critical Condition at this point. But as a Nurse I have never walked out on a Patient during a Critical Moment, I have never stopped Listening to all the Research and Learned Advice. I have kept digging and working to save the Patient. Even though the Patient may indeed come out very damaged and weakened, the Fight is still worth saving What and WHO matters.So for me, it is a Time Game, Time will tell WHEN and if to walk away from this HCR Bill and stop all Resuscitation Efforts. For me I think it is still worth Fighting FOR and About. The Battle is Not over, Not yet.

I also in my heart think Senator Ted Kennedy would not want us giving up...not yet. He would want us still Fighting, and Fighting Hard. And in the end I also think we still need to pursue Healthcare for ALL as a Constitutional Right, so that it is Protected and we never ever have a Bloody Battle like this again.

"Pray for the Dead,but Fight Like Hell for the Living."~ Mother Jones

{{So at this point I will still be fighting Tooth and Nail to get Real Healthcare for Millions , not just Insurance Reform, that means I will still make phone calls, write letters, and continue blogging and twittering and posting research .}}

Here is another post that does explain parts of the Bill that are worth knowing about and WHO has worked behind scenes.

HCR Battle today Tuesday as of December 15th,Dr.Dean takes a stand to Kill the Bill...and more

During the day people called their Senator Offices, Reid's office,and the Whitehouse one more time Voicing their concerns.The Fly in the Ointment remains Lieberman, and it continues to be deplorable that one man can have such power over a bill effecting lives over millions. Countdown covered the twists and turns of the Day. Countdown Video of Day Must be seen to appreciate how troubled the Bill is at this point.

Lawrence ODonnell hosted Countdown tonight, he spoke with Dr.Dean and Dr.Dean expressed his concerns about the Events that continue to plague this bill. Dr.Dean brought up some concerns that are valid. ODonnell who worked in DC during the Clinton Years,knows the process well and asks valid questions. Senator Wyden also is interviewed about where he stands on the HCR Bill at this juncture, he remains committed to the Bill and the Process. Dr.Dean at this point admits he no longer supports it, and Why.

ALERT:::MUST read post by Ezzra Klein this early Wed Dec 16th am. He explains what is left in the bill and what is still worth fighting for.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Atlantic Wire has an amazing post about What Liberals have won,lost or gained in the HCR battle, it is a Must read, and has great article round up.
Mother Jones weighs in their Position at this Critical Juncture of the HCR Battle
( Kevin Drum of Mother Jones is worth reading and following, he and David Corn really investigate and thoughtfully approach all issues, and consistently give balanced information and opinions based on facts.) In this post linked to the title, or you can read here he explains why the Bill is damaged and imperfect, but also why even in it's current crippled form must go forward. He does not gloss it or try to pretend it is even a a good bill at this point, but he values where we are in this mangled process.
Ezra Klein's Wapo Post is a Must Read about HCR, and it's status as of tonight 12.15.09
Please click the title of the post to read Ezra's Breakdown of WHERE Lieberman's options stand, the fate of parts of the Bill and the actual Process Timeline.It explains how Reid was left negotiating with people that were and are problematic as well as the 60 Vote milestone. There are hurdles of different Senate members stalling and manipulating the Bill to their own wants, Lieberman,Snowe and Nelson are three of the main Obstructing Roadblocks. Ezra carefully lays out how cumbersome and belabored the whole process has come and shows that finishing by Christmas remains an almost inhuman rushed feat.
Anthony Weiner 's Blog lays out his Position on the #HCR Battle....
Anthony Weiner is one rare Fighter, he had started a Blog and movement back in the Summer mostly focusing on the need for a Public Plan, he appreciates the need for a Universal plan, and his blog had consistently explained why a Single Payer and or Public Option would provide more access to affordable care to more numbers.He has been updating his blog daily ( linked to the title).He is a tenacious well informed fighter, and consistently has a calm future thinking approach on the Battle. As this bill is prepared to go back to the House in Conference, Weiner's Blog is a good source to follow, and he remains a pivotal person to watch and read.
Senate Says No to Importing Low Price Drugs....This matters during this HCR Battle
GottaLaff ( amazing progressive twitterer and blogger) writes at the Political Carnival Blogspot and is worth following,she covers events and politics with an astute perspective and keen eye for detail. She covers all politics Bush Regime Blunders to HCR to Gitmo to Torture. Please do read this post about Drug Costs and the Senate's latest Blunder to provide affordable meds, this Senate Mistep coming during the current HCR battle is beyond stupid, and shows how Out of Touch DC can be to the economic challenges for Millions. Once again this Senate gives us one more dose of Bad Medicine, but this should not deter efforts to bring Better care to Americans...even if the Senate does not understand the gravity of the Costs.
20 States Cut Cancer Screening and Service and care to Poor,Mostly Women...
Article explains about the Care that is not being delivered to Millions,due to budget constraints, especially those under 50, and especially to women who need sceduled routine Pap Smears and Mammograms.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Click the Title to read the rest of the article linked to the title,
Snippet::::
ALBANY, N.Y.
"As the economy falters and more people go without health insurance, low-income women in at least 20 states are being turned away or put on long waiting lists for free cancer screenings, according to the American Cancer Society's Cancer Action Network.In the unofficial survey of programs for July 2008 through April 2009, the organization found that state budget strains are forcing some programs to reject people who would otherwise qualify for free mammograms and Pap smears. Just how many are turned away isn't known; in some cases, the women are screened through other programs or referred to different providers."I cried and I panicked," said Erin LaBarge, 47. This would have been her third straight year receiving a free mammogram through the screening program in St. Lawrence County. But the Norwood, N.Y., resident was told she couldn't get her free mammogram this year because there isn't enough money and she's not old enough.

New York used to screen women of all ages, but this year the budget crunch has forced them to focus on those considered at highest risk and exclude women under 50.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(( Many Health Departments and Free Clinics and Low Income Clinics have had to cut services to Those In Need. In my city, the Free Clinic has no openings and has had none in over 18 monthes,that is why I even I an UnInsured RN don't get care there, I do wonder if I was over 50 would that move my name up on the List.))
MUST SEE AD, please share this ad from Americans For Stable Quality Care, it's called "HOME"...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Twitter this ad:::http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=py-mN85-2Bk&feature
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This ad is part of the work of Americans For Stable Quality Care, many health care providers set up this alliance, and their campaign is about morally providing care to all that is affordable and accessible.( Doctors,Nurses,Pharmacists,Nurse Practioners).
At this point the more Alliances the better to to fight the Insurance Industry and show what they have done to our country and normal Americans. American families should not be losing homes to try to pay for healthcare that Insurance Companies have denied. As you watch this video, remember 500,000 people are fighting Cancer already denied Care and Claims by their Insurance Company, so that requires people do things like take a second mortgage or lose their homes...62-70% of ALL Bankruptcies are due to Medical Debt.
Friday Update:::
I blogged earlier in the week about Ian Pearl and his battle with Muscular Dystrophy and his Insurance Company of NY -Guardian and how internal emails called him a "Dog", and had changed his coverage denying him the HomeCare he needs to stay alive.Today the CEO Dennis Manning, issued a statement and an apology. Ian is to have his care and benifits returned so he can get the care he needs and his care is not to be terminated on December1. CNN updated this story about an hour ago, and I will post Jim Acosta's video when I find it.Thank you to the MSM and all of the fine Internet folks,bloggers, and Twitter folks that worked on this situation this week.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Scroll down, earlier this week we learned of Aislen Bates and her parents battle when Insurance Company cancelled her policy because she was too small at 2 years old. Yesterday after the story was all over the Internet and twitterland and blogland and the MSM, the Company reviewed the situation and has decided to reinstate her policy and her care.

Now We have a 2 Year Old in the news Denied Coverage because she is UnderWeight...

Click the Title to read the post, but do see that she is cute as a button, at 2, and she weighs 22 pounds.The Insurance Industry is still rationing care, setting up arbitrary rules about who they cover. A week ago we learned of a little baby at 4 monthes who was denied coverage because he was too large, now we have a little toddler denied care because she is too small ? It might be that she has other health problems, the article mentions gag reflex problems ( many infants do have gag issues associated with gastric reflux, they can still be quite healthy as they continue to grow, but they do need medical followup and care. I am not sure if this applies to this case, but no children should be denied care or coverage due to "weight" or height ,especially while they are growing and changing.

(( Enigma Personal Note: My son was a premie with gastric reflux disease,yeah 6-6, and he was never on the charts for height and weight, not once...and even the first year of his regurg year, he was big and relatively healthy...but it was also because he had great medical care and we had insurance that covered his care.))

We can regulate Insurance Industry greed, I do believe that there must be a way to do that. But can we regulate Evil ?

Thursday October 22 UPDATE:
In the News this AM the Insurance Company has been shamed into reversing their decision and is now going to cover the child under her parent's policy.

The Healthcare Battle Continues...and America Still Has a Healthcare Crisis....a message from Enigma

Why I blog this....
I have blogged and written on Healthcare now for many months. I am a merely a single mom, an UnInsured Nurse, that is trying to get healthcare for my family and my neighbors.I Live in Ohio, in an area of Cleveland that is truly the Foreclosure Capital of the Country. An area that is truly blighted by families losing jobs and homes. I have seen Dads working at home after losing their jobs, trying to repair little outside projects and keep their self esteem intact. I have seen people lose their homes and lug belongings to the curb. I have seen tears and rage as Tow Trucks haul away cars that could have helped people continue job hunts.I have seen many many empty lonely houses. I have seen people sleeping in their cars. Unemployment here is close to 14% so it is reported, I would bet it is much higher. On my street two neighbors died last winter, and they did not die with the care they needed, they died alone and without care, and then the banks took their homes. I feel sick when I walk by their homes. And many of those still here are struggling to buy food and take care of their families, many homes have atleast one member unemployed. And Most people that are neighbors, very few have Insurance or healthcare, except for those on Medicare.

On a more personal level I am battling my own healthcare situation....and job situation..and this battle is personal. I blog about the Healthcare Crisis because I know I am not alone, that millions are struggling right now, just like me and my son. I want my son to have a more stable future and access to Education and Healthcare....without Struggle.

It has been draining watching the Summer of Hate, Watching Fellow Americans behave like spoiled 4 year olds stamping their feet and yelling about wanting their America back. I have been mystified by the level of rage and anger, and worried. When Obama came and spoke here , he spoke of an Empathy Deficit and how it had effected our Country. He was right, there in many ways has been a crippling lack of compassion and greed nurtured by huge Corporations....

Down Below there is more information to help anyone learn WHY we need Health Care Reform , not just "Insurance" reform.
Everyday I do try to post new articles to share and read and post on Facebook and Twitter. I try to post the Human side of this Story. Also if you scroll down I do indeed take apart Baucus's Crappy Bill piece by piece from Fines to other Insurance gifts. At this point we need a Public Option for the 30 Million that have been denied care and cancelled. Close to 50 Million UnInsured and Millions more UnderInsured. I hope and pray that many in DC over the next few weeks find their Moral Compass.

Anyone with Healthcare news is welcome to email me, if you send hate mail I will delete. This blog is to inform and share, it is in no way a place to mock anyone struggling in this time,and yes I will continue to blog this issue until we have Real Healthcare Reform for all of us...I believe in the power of Compassion.

BLUE CROSS REWARDS EMPLOYEES DENYING COVERAGE

This LA Times Article linked to the title says it all....the Snippet Below just tells a piece of the story, at some point it will be revealed of the Millions of Dollars of Stolen Care in this Country, the people without Insurance are as Vulnerable as those with Insurance....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"But documents obtained by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and released today show that the company's employee performance evaluation program did include a review of rescission activity.The documents show, for instance, that one Blue Cross employee earned a perfect score of "5" for "exceptional performance" on an evaluation that noted the employee's role in dropping thousands of policyholders and avoiding nearly $10 million worth of medical care.
WellPoint's Blue Cross of California subsidiary and two other insurers saved more than $300 million in medical claims by canceling more than 20,000 sick policyholders over a five-year period, the House committee said.
"When times are good, the insurance company is happy to sign you up and take your money in the form of premiums," Stupak said. "But when times are bad, and you are afflicted with cancer or some other life-threatening disease, it is supposed to honor its commitments and stand by you in your time of need.
"Instead, some insurance companies use a technicality to justify breaking its promise, at a time when most patients are too weak to fight back," he said."
Teen With HIV diagnosis denied Insurance...
Click the title to read this story....If you have not read this story, you should, it was on HuffingtonPost this week and all over the Internet about this young teen that was discovered to be HIV postive, and then mistreated by his Insurance Company. The Health Care Crisis is not just about People living and struggling without Insurance and Healthcare, it is also about people WITH Insurance being mistreated, and lacking adequate care or at the constant risk of losing care or being financially stripped. The Rest of the world is watching, mystified that we are being hogtied by Giant Companies that are making sure that Millions of Americans don't have access to affordable care.
(( this case is getting resolved and I will post updates in the Comments section ))
The Numbers Of Our Healthcare Crisis Show Why we need Public Option ( Use this Information)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thousands lined up last month standing in the night waiting for care at RAM Event in LA. This has been repeated around the country at every RAM event, at fairgrounds and Gyms. As amazing as Stan Brock and RAM are, this is not the way we should be providing care to people...but it does show how big a problem we have.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are the only advanced democracy on Earth – the only wealthy nation – that allows such hardships for millions of its people. There are now more than 30 million American citizens who cannot get coverage. In just a two-year period, one in every three Americans goes without healthcare coverage at some point. And every day, 14,000 Americans lose their coverage. In other words, it can happen to anyone.
President Obama to Joint Session 9.10.09
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have heard many people blamed for this Healthcare Crisis. People that are losing Insurance or losing Care should not be blamed. We should be calling DC, especially our Reps and Senators because the DC Bubble is shielding them from listening or talk to Real People Losing Care. The People who are really responsible for the Mess, are the Insurance Execs and we need to remind their employees that their Boss is making 120,000 in an hour? There is Greed and Gluttony at the Top and it is even hurting their own Employees.

This greed is sadly also effecting decision making skills and judgement in DC. Has anyone asked if Wilson was "paid" to Disrupt the Speech the other Night. In a way he was - one of his biggest Contributors to his campaign is the Insurance Industry- more than 240,000. Money and gifts can cloud Judgement. And has money and greed also fed to this cycle of Hate and fearmongering ? And has it destroyed civil conversation and dilaogue ? Write to your Senators, reps and the Media, they all need to be educated on the Facts.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are some numbers we have not been told and have not even been discussed, and they should be. The Numbers alone tell WHY the costs are so astronomical and WHY the Current System is Broken.And why we have a Healthcare Crisis.Please do share them, please also send to the MSM, or when you write to Senators and DC and the Whitehouse.If you write your Senators and Reps Do it again,and forward a copy to the Whitehouse, and Do write to the Repugs and Bluedogs too.And do it NOW, Time is of the Essence.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
LET'S LOOK AT WHO HAS GOVERNMENT HEALTHCARE
Medicare 47 Million ( This number includes Disabled-early medicare as best as I can find)
Medicaid 48 Million ( This number includes working poor, impoverished families, and only lower level working poor).
VA 50 Million ( these are VET numbers, I am not sure if this number includes families and Military that is currently serving.)
( I went through Govt links- I will post at the end if anyone wants to see).
9 Million Children recieving SCHIP.
Another number we have not seen mentioned at all is how many people actually have Insurance through Federal Employment, numbers are 12.4 to 14 Million, This number has rarely been publicized, but Bush did increase and expand Federal Employees by thousands and is graphed at the BLS. ( ie the Homeland Security Dept ?)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This means that currently over 168 Million have access to Government Managed Programs, and this does not even include the State Employees and their programs. With that many having access to such programs, why shouldn't small businesses and the UnInsured and UnderInsured have access to more affordable accessible care ?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Repugs and the Tea Party people keep saying that People Wanting Publicoption are in the Minority. That is not true, it turns out. It might actually be people with Insurance are in a Minority compared to people already accessing Government Insurance Plans. And sadly at this point the Repugs have shamed people without healthcare, so they are not comfortable to speak out in this current Hostile Climate that is filled with anger and hate.

According to New Census data released that does not have the the Economic DownFall Data, which President Obama admitted to the Nurses at his conference on Thursday is 6.6 Million, says that over 47 Million are Currently UnInsured. So that Number is Clearly over 50 Million Uninsured, at approximately 53 Million.

State Employee Numbers also have to be considered as they are people getting Government Healthcare, even though most states are currently struggling providing care to current employees and retirees under 65. The Bureau of Labor Statistics are updating all of their numbers this week, so I am having a hard time finding current numbers.

President Obama also said that the UnInsured numbers are still rising, with 17,000 a day losing care.( the previous number that had been researched was 14,000), That means that a HALF MILLION a month are losing Healthcare right now. That Means a year from now, the true Number of Uninsured Withhout Healthcare will be over 60 Million.The Number of People Losing Healthcare and Insurance is rising higher than the Unemployment Rate.

From the Speech:
Finally, our healthcare system is placing an unsustainable burden on taxpayers. When healthcare costs grow at the rate they have, it puts greater pressure on programs like Medicare and Medicaid. If we do nothing to slow these skyrocketing costs, we will eventually be spending more on Medicare and Medicaid than every other government program combined. Put simply, our healthcare problem is our deficit problem. Nothing else even comes close.

We have other numbers we have to consider, People losing Jobs and Homes have damaged credit, they too can not qualify for Insurance. Especially the people that have had to declare Bankruptcy due to medical debt ( the Number One cause of Bankruptcy is Medical Debt).People who are renting after such events, or struggling to find part time work have no money for Private Single Insurance Plans. The number of people on FoodStamps in the highest ever, over 35 Million, they too are working poor and have no money for Expensive Private Plans.

The dialogue on this issue has to be more focused on Working Poor, Poverty is an issue for people in that they can not afford to live. And the Repugs need to be schooled that the American People, even their Constituents are hurting, and among those numbers of Undermployed or Working poor. It is NOT just Democrats that need affordable Accessible Healthcare. And President Obama also pointed out that the Whitehouse is literally tracking Millions that are being denied care and losing care, we as a Nation Cannot turn out backs on Millions of people.22,000 People now are dying per year without healthcare , 179,000 Since 2001, Does Anyone really want to see how high that number can grow ?
