Saturday Night Music 1.19.08

Very cold....12 degrees right now...and that is without the wind. And we are due for Snow, Big Snow tonight. So I walked to the store and got what we needed, Hot Coco to noodles to soup and tea to popcorn. I went bundled up, I looked like Ralphie's Brother from a Christmas Story. I plodded home with my bags full of goodies. And as I walked I did alot of thinking.

Okay , so Hillary did win Nevada, BUT she did not win by the Huge Margin that everyone expected, she won by a small margin, and Obama did pretty well in a state that he was not even perdicted to be close a month ago. And that was with Bill and Hill playing much shenanigans and games.I realize that means we are in for a Battle, state by state, but that is fine, I would rather have that , then her waltzing away with it.....

So tonight was a night to have soup and garlic bread and watch the results. I make about 20 versions of Tomato Soup ( perfect with grilled cheese too).

Tomato Soup #23

Tomato Soup ( canned)
Butter ( two big spoonfuls)
Alfedo Sauce ( Newman's Own) half cup
Chunky Medium Salsa :half cup
Dill big pinches
garlic ( grill half clove in pan with butter)
pepper

Cook over at nice low heat....and watch the butter melt.
Great for dunking garlic bread ...

I hope your soup is yummy.

I also did very little political blogging today, cause I did not feel like it.

I went to a great movie though. Cloverfield. It was a great ride and full of surprises and thrills and wonder. Just what the doctor ordered.

You have a good weekend Enigma, you worked hard this week and deserve some down time.

Soup is great, but a working furnace is even better. So glad your's is up and running during the deep freeze. Hooray!

I watched bury my heart @ wounded knee tonight.
(Film from the library).
Recaps the 1890 beginning of the reservation.
The govmnt offered .50 cents an acre for Black Hills (gold mines) land, (knowing it had gold)-- when refused, they came back to offer $1.25 an acre. That would have been $12 million bucks to a very impoverished people-- but as pointed out in the film, there is no word in tribal language for owning the land.
I have great respect and admiration for people who refuse to sell out at any cost.
Still, they paid dearly, and it is a sad story.

12-degrees, now down to 6??? That's just not human! Not fit for man nor beast! Bet you are REALLY appreciating that new furnace tonight.

I just posted about the NV Caucus since my sister attended & sent me her "report". You might find it interesting. Also, I linked Wonkette's hilarious live-blog caucus from The Wynn Hotel. We have one friggin' funny form of democracy! Maybe a good laugh will help keep you warm.

Be careful taking the dog out for walkies.

you are something. I hope you are staying warm and that you had a nice night! I think you might like this. Try a slice of tomato in your grilled cheese. It's mouth watering. Try some cheese in your tomato soup, very good! Okay I am going to get prepared for the Pats game. Let the chips fall where they may. One of my sons best friends starts for San Diego and I wish him luck!

I'm in recovery from the election so I'm channeling Will Rogers as an antidote.

I think the top three Dem candidates should just draw lots for (Prez, VP, Cabinet Position of Choice or return to Senate)

We have three winners and if we let in fighting throw this to the Republicans, we deserve what we get.

Vote for your favorite and then back the winner to the hilt.
