We Need the Issues on the Table.....

The song I have up tonight is "Long Walk Home" By Bruce Springsteen, it is a very Interesting song. It could indeed just be another great Love Song by the Boss. I think it is about What is Broken , and What do we Do Now. Instead of all of the sniping that has already started , I would much rather have The Issues Impacting us on the table and talked about again.....Because we all need to be able to talk to each other and figure out How Damaged we are, and where do we go from here.

These two issues alone have been artfully dodged at the Debates, and I do not blame the Candidates for that, I do blame the Media.....Health Care for ALL Americans (1:7 are without), and The Iraq War and the VETS,( their Care and PTSD, and the skyhigh suicide rate), need to be part of the Dialogue again, neither is Front Page News anymore.....These are just two issues that are quickly becoming Invisible.

What issues would you like to see discussed at the Debates ?

*( Before the next debates make sure to see the Websites of all the remaining Candidates, and read what their goals, solutions and policies are , and they are NOT the same...._}*

*** {{ I am also encouraging people to go over to Lydia Cornells' Blog on the Blogroll, she has an interesting post up that is very thought provoking about this issue of What Matters.....}}***

Please do email me at enigma4ever@earthlink.net ( if you need to, I am having trouble with blogger & comments btw)

The politicians never tell what kind of "changes" they will supposedly make, and whether or not they will provide jobs to those in need.

Nothing is mentioned about the sublending and how it has ruined the housing markets.

All we get it spots of fluff.

Many Thanks for mentioning Lydia Cornell's post.

Wow...the ink was still wet and here you are , I was still editing...sorry...Now about the Issues....
I am going to blog on the Foreclosure issue ( I live in a neighborhood of empty houses right now...It is REAL.)

And the Joblessness issue is real too...and again silence...

( don't worry I am blogging on these issues the next week...I am tired of the silence..)

Lydia 's latest post has some really important issues and their radio show also has some guests that are revelant to much needed Dialogue...( and her blog moderators also do a helluva job educating and keeping folks current on issues)

FOOTNOTE:
ABout the Marlboro Man in the Photo- this Marine has been through hell, please do read about him, Google "Marlboro Man + Iraq Vet+ LA Times".

Larry said...

Thanks Enigma,

I'll check out about Marboro man and foreclosures will really be a hot topic this spring as millions more will lose their homes due to balloon payments coming due and credit being really tight.

enigma4ever said...

Larry,
There are 3 Million more foreclosures due....

And it is not just homes, it is also commercial real estate....which is not being publicly discussed as well..

The Marlboro Man is a tragic tale, he has indeed returned "Home" and been Homeless and Jobless as he battles PTSD, the LA journalists that have covered his story are doing their best to attempt to help him and the returning VETS. ( I will probally blog on him this weekend as well)

Okay....so Blogger is not forwarding comments now....I have no idea what is wrong...so this is a test...

enigma4ever said...

Okay folks, Blogger is messing up, would any of you be able to help ? It won't let comments go to my Email address, that is on the post- so please email me and help me figure this out...thanks

enigma4ever said...

It keeps saying somthing about subscribe or unsubcribe on the Comments page by my email address ? What does that mean ?

enigma4ever said...

testing....again....

Cartledge said...

I'll try it from here.

Larry said...

Hey Enigma,

Did you try getting inside the template to see if the comments accidently got reset to something else?

enigma4ever said...

testing...

enigma4ever said...

Thanks fellas- I have no idea- I think it has something to do with this Unsubscribe thing ? But I have not changed it...I did open it up to anony comments...maybe I should change it back to ID users ( whatever that is...)

But nope neither of your comments came through to my email.......( it might be earthlink prob..)

Larry said...

Enigma,

Look under Comments inside the template and at the bottom of page see if your email address is there to receive copies of the comments you get.

enigma4ever said...

yup....it is ....and right here, on the comments section it even says"comments will be sent to enigma4ever@earthlink.net"

Larry said...

Maybe Earthlink is having problems tonight.

enigma4ever said...

Hey Larry-
I just had a nice online chat with the earthlink folks...and they said the problem is not at their end- that the emails/comments are not getting to them...so that does mean it is Blogger....

BUT emails are getting through from ENIGMA CAFE we just tested that - and no problem... so it is JUST Watergate Summer....maybe it is haunted by Nixon's Ghost.......would not be the first time ;-P

enigma4ever said...

okay , so it does not make sense it works on one Blog, but not another ?....

this is another test...

well you know I have no idea. I do know all day today, Blogger will let me sign in, but not sign out. I guess when I turn off the computer now, that'll finally sign me out. Maybe you should try that, too (turn it all off for awhile). Of course, that's my solution to everything anyway!

So does your problem mean you can't tell if you've received any comments unless you actually LOOK at your blog? (cuz I left a couple down below)

As far as debate issues: I want to hear SPECIFICS about ea candidate's health care solutions. I also want to hear them say they will trash The Unitary President concept, throw out the Military Commissions Act & restore our constitution. They should also state that presidential signing statements do NOT carry weight of law & open up the last 8-yrs to congressional scrutiny. If any of them disagree, then they should debate why or why not.

enigma4ever said...

Yup....I thought that I had had no comments all day ( silly me- I should have looked at my blog...oppps) I will go find your comments below..

Now - there you go more for the List...OUR Bucket List of Issues...Excellent..

Are you in the Northeast?

I couldn't access your blog for 2 days -- I kept getting this strange error message. I use Wordpress which is very reliable usually, but I know like 45,000 people lost power after a windstorm Wednesday.

Anyway, glad you're there and I can post again.

I was without power on Wed. 1:30 am to about 2pm the next day...sorry. And now I am having blogger problems, the only way I get comments is to come to the site- they are not being forwarded from blogger to my email. But I can come here and I also can be emailed directly to enigma4ever@earthlink.net, thank you.

Have you considered switching to Wordpress?

I started out on Blogger and it was a disaster. Mostly, no customer service to help you if something haywire happened.

One great thing about Wordpress is, the support team is available even to the free members. They are good about helping out if something strange happens.

I'm a huge Wordpress fan.

OMG where do you start? I think it can be boiled down to two questions! Since 9/11 President Bush has used the Patriot Act to subvert the constitution will you restore the Constitution as it was intended and also rescind the abusive powers Bush has ammassed?
Also will you get rid of the America Bush has created and give us ours back as it was before he instituted his promised "change" You all promise "change" please do!

enigma4ever said...

Oh my I am gathering quite a list....

Torrance:
Okay .....more to focus on ( or be distracted by ? or more of the same eh ?...._) thanks...I will check link in a minute....

Patriot:
Definently we need the Constitution revived- I think it is under Cheney's bed- hopefully it did not burn up in his office fire ?....I am not sure about who has promised What Change...I just know we all need to Find A Path out of the mess our country is in now...( of course now the repugs are calling for Change too...whatever that means...)
thanks...

oooooops...Sorry, I missed you there...have I thought of Wordpress...yes indeedy...and I am very much thinking of it....I am very very frustated right now...( I am still not sure what has happened with my comments...)

Christopher said...

E4E,

If you decide to comeon over to Wordpress and need any points, give me a shout out.

I moved my entire blog over to Wordpress from Blogger and I was done in less than an hour.

enigma4ever said...

Christopher, you are making this very enticing....
and I am plenty frustated ....let me think on it...there is one more possiblity - that it is Earthlink or Safari...or my computer...I am still digging at it...

( and if my car was not broke I would go to see the Geniuses and see if it is my computer...car is getting fixed tonight and Furnace tomorrow...phew..)

thank you...this weekend I will decide...
