Friday Thoughts 8.17.07

In many ways this indeed has been an awful week. We learned that there was Genocide in Iraq this week. We learned that there was was a small village that was vulnerable, and also may have been religously vulnerable. Yet Bush said not a word as over 500 in a small Iraqi village lost their lives. Is it any wonder that the Suicide Rate amoungst VETS is the highest it has ever been.
The Utah Mine Disaster continues, an absolute Horrendous Night. Another Collapse, and 3 dead, and 6 seriously wounded. It is also said that 2 of the injured are Federal Officials. We have not seen the Owner, Mr.Murray since this all happened last evening. ( 6:30 PM Mountain time). And the original six miners remain missing. The Miners are also the rescuers working day in and out at the mine, some on thier 11th day. This is Not safe. This has been going on for many days now. And everytime the Workers tried to Voice Concerns of Safety, Mr.Murray would take over the Press Conference or shut it off. There are some real Questions about HOW this Owner has been treating his workers. And then we still have the worry of the Injured Shuttle.
It is a time to examine What Matters.....

1:30PM Friday:
PLEASE READ THE COMMENTS SECTION ON COAL POST BELOW:- I HAVE RUNNING THREAD WITH NEW INFO AND UPDATES, PLEASE ADD IF YOU HAVE MORE. MSNBC IS DOING A MUCH BETTER JOB THAN CNN. ( LESS COAL ADS TOO) I AM TIMING HOW LONG IT TAKES THAT SUMBITCH MURRAY TO SHOW HIS FACE, WE ARE UP TO 23 HOURS, 23 HOURS AGO HE SAID ON FILM HOW "SAFE THE MINE IS", AND MUZZLED HIS EMPLOYEES NOT LETTING THEM SPEAK ABOUT THE SAFETY CONCERNS (AGAIN ALL ON FILM).

5am here 2am Mountain time, the Utah Gov. finally said that he was very worried about the SAFETY OF THE MINERS....THANK HEAVENS. ( it also sounds like that he has shut the mine down , and wants it shut down until it can be shown to be safe for the workers).

The owner of this mine has been ignoring the safety in all his mines and his financial Republican ties, have allowed him to continue to operate the mines with workers being in jeopardy.

I know Larry...awful...there is a hell for this kind of men...has anyone seen him since the Cave In last night ?

Now about the Peru quake which I forgot to put on here- a 8,0 two nights ago- and there are >1000 dead. Today Bush offers to send a team of military dr team, and 100,000 $ , pretty effin stingy....why is he not sending the HOPE and Military aid and equipment, and more supplies and nurses etc...???and more $$$ or do we not have it- thanks ot Iaq?

Thanks for visiting.

It can seem discouraging, can't it? I struggle to keep informed, look nastiness in the eye... and do some small things for the good. I also struggle to see the beauty in the moment - in my kids, in the mountains around me...in me even!

Don't be sad... but if you have to be, find yourself in there.

I am not sad...just worried...always...

The press conference today had reporters and others yelling "Where is Murray."

All the points you raised are definitely a concern...but apparently not to the "decider and thief"...unfortunately. I'm despondent over Padilla and that doesn't even scratch the surface. I think I have a tension headache now because I've been thinking about Padilla since the Jury did their business on him. What has happened to Lady Justice? She was raped by the Bush Madministration!

Giid posts e4e, caiundin the one below too. I wrote on this the other day and documented Murray's ties to the GOP and how he used his influence to get a safety official who was calling one of his mines on safety relocated away from hus mines. Disgusting.
